And Jesus began to say to them, “Take heed that no one leads you astray. Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray.” Mark 13:5, 6
Lord thank You for Your warning.
Thank You that when we keep our eyes upon You and follow Your pathway we are not lead astray.
Thank You for Your discernment and wisdom. Oh how we need them.
Thank You Lord

And as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked Him privately, “Tell us, when will this be and what will be the sign when these things are all to be accomplished?” Mark 13:3, 4
Lord these verses show us how much these four men believed You. They knew whatever You told them would be the truth and it would happen just as You would say. They were curious …..they wanted to know.
Thank You Lord for our gift of curiosity. And it truly is a gift because it takes us beyond our own knowledge and causes us to want to know more and more. It causes us to want to explore and learn more. Often it causes us to be dissatisfied and we can no longer just accept things as they are because we know there is a better way. We grow and changed. Our lives are enriched.
Lord when we bring our curiosity and sit at Your feet to learn You teach us more and more. What a gift. What a joy. What a life changing experience.
Oh how I thank You.
Thank You Lord

And Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone upon another, that will not be thrown down.” Mark 13:3
Lord You knew all things. You knew exactly what was going to happen. AND You knew why it would happen. Nothing comes as a surprise to You. That is a good thing Lord and I thank You that You know and are in control.
Oh how blessed we are Lord to have a Lord that knows all and sees all and we thank You.
Thank You Lord

And as He (Jesus) came out of the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, Teacher, what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings!” Mark 13:1
Lord I could have been that disciple because I would have noticed and said the same thing. Truly it is a wonderful gift to observe and enjoy. You have given us so many thing on this earth to enjoy. Spring is coming and the crocus and daffodils are beginning to bloom. They make us feel as if the earth is coming alive again. We are so blessed Lord to have the seasons to enjoy. Oh how we thank You.
Thank You Lord

And a poor widow came, and put in two copper coins, which made a penny. And He (Jesus) called His disciples to Him, and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. For they all contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, her whole living.” Mark 12:42 -44
Lord this is such an interesting story….and it is a true story. You were sitting watching while people put their money into the treasury. And here comes a very poor widow. Life was very difficult for widows and that is why You would often tell others to care for them.
How would she survive giving her all? Why did she give her all? As an interviewer I could ask so many questions Lord. Faith….was it her faith and love for You that caused her to KNOW that she would be taken care of.
Oh the lessons we can learn from this Lord. And OH the lessons I have learned over my lifetime being raised in a poor and struggling family.
Today I too am grateful for the beautiful lessons I learned as a child on giving to You. There was never surplus so it could not be out of our surplus.
You have ALWAYS been there for me Lord and I thank You. Oh the stories I have to share bless my own heart and encourage me yet today. Oh how I thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And He (Jesus) sat down opposite the treasury, and watched the multitude putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. Mark 12:41
Lord I have always been thankful for the generous people that are willing to give. I have thanked You for their ability to make and manage their resources recognizing that each gift no matter what it might be is from You. It has always amazed me because some that work hard make little and some that work hard make a lot. You know what is best for us Lord and I thank You.
Thank You Lord for Your many gifts that are not always measured by money. Your greatest gift – and it is free -was the gift You gave us when You came to earth and died that we might live. Oh how we thank You that someday we will live with You forever.
What a gift!!!! We can never say thank You enough.
Thank You Lord.

And in His (Jesus) teaching He said, “Beware of the scribes, who like to go about in long robes, and to have salutations in the market places and the best seat in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts, who devour widows’ houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greatest condemnation.” Mark 12:38 – 40
Lord it is no wonder the scribes were unhappy with You and wanted to destroy You. They were saying they were doing everything because of their love for You and yet all of the things mentioned above were self-serving. They used them to bring attention to themselves and to profit themselves. You knew that because You saw their hearts and their motives.
Before we throw stones at them Lord we need to look at our own lives and evaluate our own actions. How easy it is to say we are doing things in YOUR name and yet when we look within we learn differently.
Thank You Lord that this is where Your love and compassion takes over. This is how You love us unconditionally. This is how YOU help us changes into Your selfless image. This is how joy floods our souls because we know with Your help we not only can be different but WILL be different.
Oh how we thank and praise You for the changes that only You can make in our lives.
Thank YOU! Thank You Lord.

“David himself calls Him Lord; so how is He his son?” And the great throng heard Him gladly. Mark 12:37
Oh to have been in that crowd Lord. How exciting and yet fearful that must have been. There had to be an element of fear because of these scribes and Pharisees that were constantly picking at You. And yet the people could not stay away. They were drawn to You and Your teaching. They were watching the healings. They wanted to see what was going to happen next.
Thank You Lord for putting that same desire within us. We too want to know more about You. Thank You for accepting us just as we are and then helping us change into Your likeness. Oh how blessed we are and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And as Jesus taught in the temple, He said, “How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David? David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, declared, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I put thy enemy under thy feet.’ Mark 12:35, 36
Thank You Lord for showing us who You truly are.
Thank You for Your compassion and Your unconditional love.
Oh how we love to sit at Your feet and learn.
Thank You for allowing us that gift. AND You even ask us to come.
Thank You. Thank You Lord.

And when Jesus saw that he (scribe) answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask Him any question. Mark 12:34
Lord this scribe was totally different than the other scribes that wanted You destroyed. He saw You for who You truly were. He agreed with You and because he agreed the other scribes and Pharisees had to be quiet. They didn’t dare say a thing.
Thank You Lord for those that agree with us and are on Your side. There are many Lord and we thank You.
Thank You for the opportunity and freedom we have to gather together to worship and praise You.
We are never alone Lord. You are always with us and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.
