Thought For Today

“And then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, there is the Christ!’ or ‘Look , there He is!’ do not believe it. False Christs and false prophets will arise and show signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the elect. But take heed; I have told you all things beforehand.” Mark 13:20 – 23

Thank You Lord for Your help in keeping our eyes upon You.

Thank You for Your wisdom and discernment.

We have it all Lord because we have You and we thank You.

And if the Lord had not shortened the days, no human being would be saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days. Mark 13:20

Lord thank You for giving all of us the opportunity to ‘come follow You.’

Thank You that You want us all and You call us all.

Thank You for placing in the hearts of those that love You the desire to reach every tribe in every nation.

Oh how we love You Lord and trust You to be with us every moment of every day.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

“But when you see the desolating sacrilege set up where it ought not to be (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; let him who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter his house, to take anything away; and let him who is in the field not turn back to take his mantle. And alas for those who are with child and for those who give suck in those days! Pray that it may happen in winter. For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation which God created until now and never will be.” Mark 14 – 19

Wow Lord I sure am glad You are with us to guide, direct and comfort. I am also glad that You never give us more than we can bear. There is nothing too hard for You.

Thank You for ALWAYS being there for us. Oh how we need you. Thank You.

“And brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death; and you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.” Mark 13:12, 13

Lord even though things are grim there is light at the end of the tunnel….’He who endures to the end will be saved.’

Thank You for Your promise.

Thank You for the gift of eternal life.

You are with us to the end of our earthly life and we thank and praise YOU. Thank You.

“And when they bring you to trial and deliver you up, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say; but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.” Mark 13:11

Lord this is another example of Your promise to always be with us.

Thank You for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Thank You for the assurance that we do not walk alone.

We are so, so, blessed and we thank You.

“And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.” Mark 13:10

Lord it is very interesting to watch as tribe after tribe in remote areas receive the gospel. It is becoming easier and easier to reach them. This is one more scripture that is coming to pass. It is exciting to see those that have never heard receive You as the light in their totally closed off world.

Thank You Lord for those that are willing to risk their lives to go to these remote tribes in remote areas.

Thank You for those that have prayed they would be reached and that those taking the message would be safe.

Thank You for those that gave monetarily and are still giving.

Lord You use us all and we thank You.

Then they remembered, and rushed back to Jerusalem to tell His eleven disciples—and everyone else—what had happened. Luke 24:8

Lord yesterday was Easter and we celebrated Your resurrection.

Today we continue to rejoice.

Our hearts are full of joy.

Thank You for dying for us.

Thank You rising again.

Thank You for giving us the assurance that we will live with You forever and ever.

They (the women) stood there (by the tomb) puzzled, trying to think what could have happened to it (Jesus body). Suddenly two men appeared before them, clothed in shining robes so bright their eyes were dazzled. The women were terrified and bowed low before them. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking in a tomb for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He has come back to life again! Don’t you remember what He told you back in Galilee—that the Messiah must be betrayed into the power of evil men and be crucified and that He would rise again the third day?” Luke 24:4 – 7

Lord for those of us that truly love You Friday is a very sobering day. Friday cause us to remember the price You paid for each of us. You gave us Your all. You died that we might live. You paid the ultimate price and we thank You.

But Lord we are so thankful for Sunday. There is much joy and rejoicing in all the events that took place on Sunday. You didn’t stay in that grave but rose again so we could live too. We live because You live. We rejoice because we have been given eternal life.

How can we ever thank You enough Lord. You gave us Your all. We love You Lord. Thank You.

“But take heed to yourselves; for they will deliver you up to councils and you will be beaten in synagogues; and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, to bear testimony before them.” Mark 13:9

Lord this is not a pretty picture – beaten for Your name sake…..and yet still stand before governors and kings for Your name sake.

Thank You Lord that we do not have to stand alone.

Thank You for being with us each moment and each step of the way in our lives.

We trust You Lord and we love You. Thank You for ALWAYS being with us.

“And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed; this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places, there will be famines; this is but the beginning of the sufferings.” Mark 13:7, 8

Lord it seems everything You are talking about here has happened over and over. Many times people have predicted Your coming back and still it has not happened. We that love You wait with eager anticipation. What a day that will be. Thank You for letting us know ‘this world is not our home we are just a passing through’ as the song writer so nicely put it. Heaven is our home and how we thank and praise You that it is. What a day of rejoicing that will be. Thank You.
