And He (Jesus) told them a parable, to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. Luke 18:1
Lord, thank You for Your reminder today to always pray.
Thank You for hearing us when we cry out to You.
Thank You for the peace You give in the midst of a storm.
Thank You that You are always there waiting for us.
We are blessed. We are loved.

And they (disciples) said to Him (Jesus), “Where Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there the eagles will gather together.” Luke 17:37
Lord what were You saying to Your disciples. What did You want them to understand? What did You want them to see?
You had just told them that when You came back one would be taken and one left behind. Now You are saying something again that they did not understand when they asked You ‘Where.’
I have watched the eagles flying up and down the river looking for food. They are majestic. They are strong. They act as if they have a mission and are going to carry it out no matter what.
Perhaps Lord that is what You want us to be like. Strong, focused and determined to follow You no matter what the cost.
Thank You Lord for giving us Your strength and power.
Thank You that we are not in this alone because You are with us always.
Thank You for the gift of Your unconditional love that calls us on day by day and moment by moment.
All are ours Lord because of You.

Lord so often I have made the comment that Your ways are not my ways. So often I don’t see the whys in what is going on. This is one of those times that are hard to understand. We have been given our choice. We can choose You or we can make the choice to reject You and who You are.
Thank You Lord for calling each one of us to Yourself.
Thank You for the choice that is ours.
Thank You that no one is ever turned away when we come to You.
Thank You for Your forgiveness and Your unconditional love.
Thank You for allowing us to come boldly to You.

Lord oh so often we want to hold on to our lives and do what we want to do. So often we want what we want rather than what You want for us. And….we can feel so justified.
Thank You Lord for helping us ‘loose’ our lives in You.
Thank You for helping us listen and obey.
Thank You for giving us the strength and wisdom needed to follow You.
Thank You for giving us the courage to follow You.
Oh how we need You Lord.
Thank You for being with us each step of our journey through life.

Lord what an exciting time it will be when You are revealed. Some day everyone will know who You are and why You came.

Lord, yesterday You reminded the disciples of what happened because the people in Noah’s day didn’t pay any attention to You. Now today You are reminding Your disciples about what happened in Lot’s time and how no one paid attention to You then either.
Thank You Lord that we have these reminders also.
Thank You for the many other reminders that have been given to us and the wake up calls in our own lives.
Thank You that You never gave up on us and continue to call us to Yourself.
Thank You Lord for Your call. Oh, how we need it. Oh that we would obey and come closer to You.
Thank You for Your patience with us Lord.

Lord, You continued to tell Your disciples how even before You walked on this earth there were those that paid no attention to anything they were taught. They wanted their own way and went their own way never thinking about You.
Thank You Lord for the opportunity that is given to each of us to follow You.
Thank You for the truth.
Thank You that we can know You and believe.
Thank You for faith that believes and trust.
Thank You for the peace You give as we follow You.

Lord this must have been hard for your disciples to hear. Suffer ….rejected…You were their hope. You were their master. This must have been very hard for them to hear and they must have wondered what in the world You were referring to.
Thank You Lord that we don’t have to have all the answers to trust You.
Thank You that as we step out in faith You shine the light upon the next step.
Thank You that we can know that the pathway will always be lit when You call us to step forward.
Thank You for the assurance You give us as we trust You.

Lord this must have had Your disciples wondering what in the world You were talking about. As Your story unfolded they must have understood more about what You were telling them about after the fact.
Thank You Lord for knowing all and being all.
Thank You that we don’t have to understand everything about You just as we don’t have to understand everything about the lightning.
Thank You for giving us faith.
Thank You for giving us the opportunity to ask You to increase our faith.
Thank You that we have everything we need in You.
How blessed we truly are Lord.

Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, He (Jesus) answered them, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, ‘Lo, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.” Luke 17:20, 21
Lord You were among the Pharisees and yet they didn’t recognize You. They were waiting for You to come and You were right there with them.
Lord before we all find fault with them for not recognizing You we must realize that they didn’t have the history we have.
Thank You Lord that I live today and know what happened after this scripture was written.
Thank You for the witness of Your Holy Spirit that You left with us when You left this earth.
Thank You for Your peace that passes all human understanding in the midst of storms.
Thank You for the joy of knowing You are always with us.
We are so, so blessed Lord.
