And He (Jesus) came out and went, as was His custom, to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples followed him.     Luke 22:39

Thank You Lord for being our example.

Thank You for customs/habits that bring us closer to You.

Thank You for my routine each morning of sitting at Your feet and listening as I write my thoughts.

Thank You for the opportunity we each have to begin a new custom/habit that will bring us closer to You.

Thank You for calling us all to become more and more like You.

Thank You Lord.

They (disciples) said, “Lord, look, here are two swords.”  He (Jesus) said to them, “It is enough.”        Luke 22:38

Thank You Lord for the trust these disciples had in You.

Thank You for their example to us even today.

Thank You for being trustworthy.

Thank You that we can go to You and ask for answers and You are there waiting to hear us.

Lord we are so blessed and we take so much for granted.

Thank You for showing us who and what You are and what You want for our lives.

Thank You Lord.  Thank You.

Then He (Jesus) told them, (disciples)  “But now he who has a purse, take it, and a bag too, and he who has no sword, sell your coat and buy one.  For I tell you what is written has to be accomplished in Me.  ‘He was classed among the criminals’; for what is written about Me is reaching a conclusion.”             Luke 22:36, 37

Lord I have often thought it would be nice to see what is coming in my life.   When I read verses such as this one I know that You have chosen the better way for me to live my life by not knowing.  You knew what was ahead of You and You were trying to prepare Your disciples for the hard times they were going to have.

Thank You Lord that You have promised that You will never give us anything in our lives that we cannot handle with Your help.

Thank You that we can have the confidence to know You are always with us.

Thank You for giving us a peace that passes all human understanding.

Lord none of this is easy but You give us Your strength when we cry out to You.

Thank You for those that You send as our angels to help us through the challenges.

Gifts from You Lord and I thank You.

Thank You Lord.

11/3/09

And He (Jesus) said to them, (disciples) “When I sent you out without purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?”  They answered, “Nothing.”  Luke 22:35

Thank You Lord that we can trust You to meet all our needs.

Thank You for showing us over and over who You are and what You want for our lives.

Thank You for helping us see the difference between our WANTS and our needs.

Thank You for always being there when we cry out to You.

Thank You Lord.

But He (Jesus) said,  “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today before you have denied three times that you know Me.”  Luke 22:34

Thank You Lord for knowing all about us and still loving us unconditionally.

Thank You for seeing our hearts and our motives.

Thank You for giving us the desire to follow You and then helping us live that out.

Thank You for picking us up when we stumble and fall.

Thank You for You love that is full of forgivingness when we cry out to You.

Thank You Lord.

Peter told Him, (Jesus)  “Lord I am ready to go to prison and to death for You.”  Luke 22:33

Lord, we like Peter often think we are so strong and can stand the tests that come into our lives.  Then the tests come and we find out how much we need Your strength and Your power to get us through them.

Thank You Lord that You never leave or forsake us.

Thank You that Your promise is there for us today just as it was there for those that heard it so long ago.

Thank You for giving us Your strength to see us through each day.

Oh how wonderful to know Lord that You are just a prayer away.

Thank You Lord.

10/29/09

Peter told Him, (Jesus) “Lord, I am ready to go to prison and to death for You.  Luke 22:30

Oh Lord Peter sure shows us how much we need You to help us.  He was so confident that he could stand up and be strong.  We find out as we read on just how weak he truly was.

Thank You Lord that we can have confidence in You.

Thank You that when we accept where our strength comes from our lives are changed for the better.

Thank You for pulling us on to realize who we are in Your power and strength.

Thank You Lord that we have everything in You and through You.

Oh how blessed we are as Your followers.

Thank You.  Thank You Lord.

10/28/09

(Jesus continued)  “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked permission to sift all of you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail; and when you return to Me, strengthen your brothers.”  Luke 20: 30 – 32.

Thank You Lord that Satan must ask Your permission.

Thank You for knowing what we can endure and what we can’t.

Thank You for the promise that You will never give us more than we can handle.

Thank You that You are always with us to help us through each trial in life.

Oh Lord how I praise and thank You for always being with me.

Thank You Lord.

10/27/09

(Jesus continued)  “You (disciples) have been standing by Me through my trials and just as My Father has assigned to Me a kingdom, so I assign to you, that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and you will be seated on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”  Luke 20:28 – 30

Thank You Lord that even though the disciples were discussing who would be first You were patient with them.

Thank You for sharing with them what their lives would be like even though they didn’t understand all You were talking about.

Thank You that today we can know that there is so much more to come in our lives that we don’t have a clue about either.

Thank You for Your promises to each of us that follow You.

Thank You for faith to believe and trust You.

Thank You Lord.

10/26/09

(Jesus continued)  “For who is more important, the one who sits at the table or the waiter?  Is it not the one who sits at the table?  But I am among you as one who serves.”  Luke 20:27

Thank You Lord for being our example.

Thank You for humility and oh how we see that in everything You taught us.

Thank You for the joy in being all that we can be for You.

Thank You for the peace You give as we keep our eyes upon You.

Lord thank You that we have it all because You came to earth for us.

Thank You Lord.
