Afterward, Jesus found him (the healed man) in the temple and said to him, “See you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse befall you.” John 5:14

Thank You Lord for identifying Yourself to the healed man. He had told the Jews that were questioning him that he didn’t know who had told him to pick up his pallet and walk. Now he knew it was You that healed him. It was You that changed his life totally. He had been sitting waiting for 38 years and now the miracle had happened. Interesting too that You found him in the temple.

Thank You for calling all of us to leave our sin behind and come follow You.

Thank You for paying the price for our redemption.

Thank You for making us whole when we humbly bow and ask You for forgiveness.

Lord we are so blessed to have You at the helm of our lives. How we thank and praise You.

Thank You Lord.

Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, (that healed him) for Jesus had withdrawn, as there was a crowd in the place. John 5:13

Lord thank You for Your healing.

Thank You for Your example on humbleness.

Thank You for showing us that Your name didn’t matter because You were doing the will of Your Father.

Thank You for the great example You left us.

Thank You Lord.

The (Jews) asked him, (the man that was healed) “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your pallet and walk?’” Luke 5:12

Thank You Lord for healing.

Thank You for the excitement it brings everyone that is involved.

Thank You for the ability to stand tall and tell others about You.

Thank You for the courage that only You can give.

Thank You Lord.

So the Jews said to the man who was cured, “It is the Sabbath, it is not lawful for you to carry your pallet.” John 5:10

Lord what a great example of how the law could seem ridiculous. This man had been healed. He took up his pallet and walked just like You asked him to do. Now the Jewish righteous leaders of the day were after him saying he was not obeying the law. How sad and how foolish in our eyes. BUT these Jews were doing what their religious law dictated. What are we guilty of today Lord. Where are we dogmatic about the wrong things….

Thank You Lord that You came to fulfill the law and give us a new life.

Thank You that when we walk with You and listen to You our lives are transformed.

Thank You for Your example and the love that You teach us to walk in.

Oh how different we all are because of You Lord.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

Jesus said to him, (the man sitting beside the pool Bethzatha) “Rise take up your pallet and walk.” And at once the man was healed and he took up his pallet and walked. Luke 5:8, 9

Lord what an exciting time this must have been. All eyes must have been on You. This man had been waiting to be healed for 38 years. All of a sudden and in an instance his life was changed. You healed him.

Thank You Lord for the many lessons we can learn from these two verses.

Thank You for this man’s faith. He believed he could be healed and for 38 years he went to this pool hoping to be healed. What great faith!

Thank You that he never gave up but kept going back.

Thank You Lord for Your healing touch. It came most unexpected.

Thank You for the way You come to us when we least expect and heal us.

Thank You Lord.

The sick man (by the pool of Bethzatha) answered Him (Jesus) ”Sir I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is troubled and while I am going another steps down before me.” John 5:7

Lord we hear the frustration of the sick man when reading John’s words. How discouraging it must have been to wait for the waters to churn only to have someone go in front and miss the healing. This man never gave up. He waiting and hoped. Day by day his hopes had been dashed. It never stopped him. He came back the next day to try again.

Thank You Lord for persistence.

Thank You for the joy You bring as we stay close to you.

Thank You for new insights and understanding.

Thank You for the ability to stay strong and wait.

With You all things are possible and I thank You for that great gift Lord.

Thank You Lord.

When Jesus saw him (the man by the pool) and knew that he had been trying there a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” John 5:6

Thank You Lord for asking each of us ‘Do you want to be healed?’

Thank You for calling us to ‘come follow You.’

Thank You for giving us Your peace and joy.

Oh how blessed we are to have Your healing.

Thank You Lord.

In these (porticoes) lay a multitude of invalids, blind, lame, paralyzed. One man was there, who had been ill for thirty-eight years.
John 5:4, 5

Lord when writing this last night I somehow skipped verse four and went right to verse five. We see another very sad picture in verse four. The picture is even worse than the one painted for us last night. Here were even more people waiting and watching for a miracle. Only one would be fortunate enough to be the first into the turbulent water. All had hope that some way they could be the one that was healed. This is hard to accept Lord and even harder to understand.

Once again Lord I have to thank You for Your healing touch.

We all would hope and pray to be the ‘one’ that was healed.

Thank You for helping each one of us through the difficult times when we wonder how we will ever make it.

We are blessed to hold Your hand and pray for strength and wisdom….praying all the while.

Thank You for ALWAYS being with us.

Thank You Lord.

After this (healing of the official’s son) there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem . John 5:1

Lord we read here that You followed Your own tradition. There was a feast and You headed that way.

Thank You Lord for traditions.

Thank You for events that bring us closer to You.

Thanksgiving will be our next celebration and what a great gift that is to thank and praise You for the many blessings in our lives over the previous year.

Lord we have much to thank and praise You for.

Thank You Lord.

This was now the second sign that Jesus did when He had come from Judea to Galilee. John 4:54

Thank You Lord for miracles.

Thank You for the hope they give us.

Thank You for the joy that comes with them.

Thank You for those that turned to You and believed.

Thank You Lord.
