(Jesus continued) “Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear His voice and come forth, those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.” John 5:28, 29

Lord what mighty words You have spoken.

Thank You for the hope You give us all that are followers of You.

Thank You for the promise that when we die and You come back we will experience the resurrection of life.

Thank You that we need never fear because we have Your promise.

Oh how blessed we are Lord because You came and lived and died for us.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “Truly, truly I say unto you the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.” John 5:25

Thank You Lord that we hear Your voice.

Thank You that because we have heard You we live.

Thank You for giving us a life that will last forever.

Thank You for always being there for us when we cry out to you.

Thank You Lord.

The Father judges no one but has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
John 5:22, 23

Thank You Lord for always doing the will of Your Father.

Thank You for the example that sets for us.

Thank You for Your guidance and direction when we ask You to be Lord of our lives.

Oh how blessed we are to have Your example to follow.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “For as the Father raised the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom He will.” John 5:21

Thank You Lord for giving us life.

Thank You that the life You have given us is an abundant life.

Thank You for not only giving us life but giving us a life that wants to follow and obey You.

Oh how blessed we are Lord because of Your life on earth.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all that He Himself is doing, and greater works than these will He show Him, that ye may marvel.” John 5:20

Lord what must have these men thought as they listened to You. They were angry with You because You had told the sick man to get up and walk and it was the Sabbath day.

Thank You Lord that You always did what the Father asked You to do.

Thank You for coming to earth to pay the price for each one of us.

Thank You for Your unconditional love. Oh how we all need that Lord and thank You for it.

Thank You Lord.

Jesus said to them, (the Jews) “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of His own accord, but only what He sees the Father doing for whatever He does, that the Son does likewise. John 5:19

Thank You Lord for Your example.

Thank You that we can follow You today.

Thank You for leading us.

Thank You for Your help.

Thank You for Your wisdom.

Oh what a gift You are to us today.

Thank You Lord.

But Jesus answered them, “My Father’s is working still, and I am working.” This was why the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the sabbath but also called God His Father, making Himself equal with God. John 5:17, 18

Thank You Lord that You never gave up in Your calling.

Thank You for showing us that no matter how strong the persecution You still obeyed.

Thank You that when You call us You give us the power to carry out whatever that calling is.

Thank You for giving us Your strength and Your power.

Thank You Lord.

And this is why (healed the man by the pool) the Jews persecuted Jesus, because He did this on the sabbath. John 5:16

Lord in some ways we have to wonder what was so bad about the way they felt about You. After all they were obeying what they thought was the correct way. They were doing what tradition and the law told them to do. How can we find fault with them. We know today that You came to fulfill the law but back then they didn’t want to believe You had come to be their Messiah. Many still do not believe that today.

I’m so glad we have all of history to show us who You are Lord.

Thank You for coming to earth and dying so that we might live.

Thank You for fulfilling the law.

Thank You for giving all of us that believe in You eternal life.

Thank You that we will live with You forever and forever.

What a gift You were to all of us Lord.

Thank You Lord.

The man (that was healed) went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him. John 5:15

Lord this man was healed and now he knew that it was You that had healed him. He could now tell the Jews that had asked him who it was that had healed him that it was You. Of course he was excited to be up walking and sharing his good news.

Oh Lord how I pray that I never lose the excitement of knowing and loving You.

Thank You for Your patience with me.

Thank You for Your understanding.

Thank You for loving me just as I am with Your unconditional love.

Thank You that Your love calls me on to become more and more like You.

Thank You Lord.
