The crowd that had been with Him (Jesus) when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead bore witness. The reason why the crowd went to meet Him was that they heard that He had done this sign. The Pharisees then said to one another, “You see that you can do nothing; look, the world has gone after Him.
John 12:17 – 19
Thank You Lord for being faithful to Your calling.

Thank You Lord for being with us each day every step of our journey.

And Jesus found a young ass and sat upon it; as it is written,
“Fear not, daughter of Zion;
behold your king is coming,
sitting on an ass’s colt!”
His disciples did not understand this at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that this had been written of Him and had been done to Him. John 12:14 – 16
Lord just like the disciples there are many things in life that we too do not understand.
Thank You for being there when we cry out to You.
Thank You for Your wisdom and knowledge.
Thank You Lord.

The next day a great crowd who had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, (Jesus) crying, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”
John 12:12, 13
Lord we know the rest of this story. At this time in Your life the people were so excited to be around You that they were putting down palm branches for You to walk on. They loved You. They wanted to be near You.
Thank You Lord for Your love for us.
Thank You for coming here to die for us so we could live.
Thank You for the peace and joy that You alone can give.
Thank You Lord.

So the chief priests planned to put Lazarus also to death, because on account of Him (Jesus) many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus. John 12:10, 11
Lord, it is interesting when we read Your word that we see things we had never seen before. I cannot remember ever seeing the fact that they were also going to kill Lazarus. I knew they were trying to kill You but I had never seen that they were trying to kill Lazarus also. I guess in my story telling to the children I stopped the story after Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead.
Thank You Lord for teaching us new truths when we read Your word.
Thank You for always being there to help us see and understand.
Oh how fortunate we are to have the Bible.
Thank You! Thank You Lord.

When the great crowd of Jews learned that He (Jesus) was there, they came, not only on account of Jesus but also to see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead. John 12:9
Lord, there was no internet or TV to spread the word about Lazarus and yet the word spread and there was a great crowd. How exciting it must have been. They were all coming to be sure it was indeed Lazarus. Once he was dead and now he was alive. Perhaps some of them had been there for the burial. What an amazing time.
Thank You Lord for this miracle.
Thank You that we can come to You at any time of the day or night and You are there for us too.
Thank You for prayer and the way it changes our world.
We are blessed Lord because of You.
Thank You Lord.

Jesus said, (to Judas) “Let her (Mary) alone, let her keep it (expensive ointment) for the day of My burial. The poor you always have with you but you do not always have me.” John 11:7, 8
Lord, no one understood that You would have to die even though You kept telling them. Mary had washed Your feet with a very expensive ointment (perfume). Everyone was watching and Judas was upset because in his eyes she had wasted money.
Lord, thank You for Your wisdom.
Thank You for giving us wisdom when ask for it. I love that verse that says if anyone lacks wisdom let him ask for it.
The gift is ours for the asking.
Thank You Lord.

But Judas Iscariot, one of His (Jesus) twelve disciples (he who was to betray Him), said, “Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denari and given to the poor?” This he said, not that he cared for the poor but because he was a thief and as he had the money box, and he used to take what was put into it. John 12:4 – 6
Lord Mary had done a beautiful thing in washing Your feet with very expensive ointment and then drying your feet with her hair. Judas on the other hand was so money hungry that he was upset with Mary for not giving the money to the poor. Really not putting the money into the money box so he could take what he wanted. He was a thief.
Lord it is hard to understand why Judas was evil when he had walked with You and seen You doing miracles. By all rights he should have been one of the first to turn to You.
Thank You Lord for knowing our motives.
Thank You Lord for accepting us just as we are.
We love You Lord and are praying for your guidance and direction.
How blessed we are to call You our Father. Thank You for calling us all.
Thank You Lord.

Mary took a pound of costly ointment of pure nard and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment. John 12:3
Lord what a beautiful act of love on Mary’s part. It was the custom to wash the person’s feet that came to their home. Mary went further and washed Your feet with very expensive ointment and then humbled herself and wiped Your feet with her hair.
Thank You Lord for this act of love on Mary’s part.
Thank You for giving us the gift of love.
Thank You for the gift of the greatest love of all Lord …. Thank You for Your UNCONDITIONAL love for each one of us.
Oh how blessed we truly are.
Thank You! Thank You Lord.

Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those at the table with Him. John 12:1, 2
Lord, what an exciting time it must have been to have had You as the guest. Martha must have been oh too happy to be able to serve You. I can imagine that Lazarus was thanking You for prolonging his life. It must have been a very strange experience for him. I sure would have loved to have heard his story.
Thank You Lord for Your great healing power.
Thank You for sharing Your life with those that loved You here on earth.
Thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit when You left this earth.
Great gifts! Thank You.
Thank You Lord.

Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where He (Jesus) was, he should let them know, so they might arrest Him. John 11:57
A hunted Man…..Lord you were a hunted man because You went about doing good in the name of Your Father. There have been men that were hunted because they were doing evil things but certainly not for doing good things. You had just raised Lazarus from the dead. You had healed the sick. You had made blind eyes see. You were far too popular and they wanted You killed. How sad! And what is even sadder is that they thought they were doing a good thing by trying to capture You.
Thank You Lord for paying the price for our sin.
Thank You for coming to this earth to die for each one of us.
Thank You for showing us a better way to live.
Thank You that You are always there to hear our praises and our requests.
Oh how fortunate we are Lord because we have You.
Thank You Lord.
