They (Jews) were looking for Jesus and saying one to another as they stood in the temple, “What do you think? That he will not come to the feast?” John 11:56

Thank You Lord for knowing all things.

Thank You that You knew the hearts and thoughts of these men that were looking for You.

Thank You Lord that You knew You were coming to earth to die and You came anyway.

Thank You for dying for me.

Thank You Lord.

Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand and many went up from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover to purify themselves. John 11:55

Tradition…. This was the Jewish tradition. This was a time of remberance.

Thank You Lord for tradition.

Thank You for those times when we stop to remember what You have done for us.

Thank You for those moments when You have touched us in a very special way.

Thank You for the moments that we will remember for the rest of our lives with gratitude.

We are blessed. We thank You Lord.

Thank You Lord.

Jesus therefore no longer went about openly among the Jews, but went from there to the country near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim; and there He stayed with the disciples. John 11:54

Lord everyone had watched when Lazarus was raised from the dead. The Jews that did not turn and follow You were now after You to kill You. You were gaining too much popularity.

Thank You Lord for showing us that it is okay to run when we are going to be attack.

Thank You for listening to Your Father and continuing to do His will.

Oh how bless we are because You are on our side.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

He (Caiaphas) did not say this of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation, and not for the nation only, but to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad. So from that day on they (Jews) took counsel how to put Him to death. John 11:51-53

Lord we so often see how someone reacts when threatened. You were gaining too much popularity. Now Lazarus is raised from the dead. An amazing event that caused more of the Jews to follow You.

Once again Lord I have to say thank You for Your example.

Thank You for knowing their thoughts and motives.

Thank You for knowing our thoughts and motives too.

Scripture talks about man looking on the outside and You seeing our hearts. Thank You for knowing our motives and desires.

Thank You for Your many gifts.

Thank You Lord.

But one of them, (Jews) Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all; you do not understand that it is expedient for you that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation should not parish. John 11:48 – 51

Lord, thank You that with You nothing is impossible.

Thank You for sharing Your story when You were on earth.

Thank You for those that knew You were telling the truth and followed You.

Thank You for calling us all Lord, and giving us the opportunity to come to You.

We are ohhhh so blessed Lord.

Thank You Lord.

(The Jews had told the Pharisees Jesus brought Lazarus back to life.) So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the council and said, “What are we to do? For this Man performs many signs.”
John 11:47

Lord this raising of Lazarus was really causing great concern because of the popularity You were gaining with the people.

Thank You Lord for living above what could happen to You. What a great example for all of us.

Thank You for always following Your calling. Another great example!

Oh how grateful we are for Your examples.

Thank You Lord.

Many of the Jews therefore, who had come with Mary and had seen what He (Jesus) did, (called forth Lazarus from the tomb) believed in Him, but some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. John 11:45, 46

Lord we know the rest of the story but those that were there that day didn’t. There was such a great debate about who You really were. Some believed You were the Son of God and some rejected You. Those that rejected were always around looking for a way to trip You up. You were a threat to them and they wanted You destroyed.

Thank You Lord for opening our eyes and showing us who You truly are.

Thank You for loving ALL of us just the same.

Thank You for Your gift of love and teaching us how to love others.

We are truly blessed Lord. Thank You!!!

Thank You Lord.

When He (Jesus) had said this, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet bound with bandages and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unwrap him and let him go.” John 11:43, 44

Amazing Lord. What would it have been like to have been in the crowd watching. It must have been so exciting.

Thank You Lord for the many miracles that we read about that happened while You were here on the earth.

Thank You for touching our lives today and changing us moment by moment into Your image.

Thank You for the miracles we see in our own lives every day.

Thank You for the joy You give us moment by moment when we keep our focus on You.

Thank You Lord.

So they took away the stone (of Lazarus’ tomb). And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank Thee that Thou hast heard Me. I knew that Thou hearest Me always but I have said this on account of the people, standing by, that they may believe that Thou didst send Me.” John 11:41, 42

Lord as usual there was a crowd around You. There were no doubt those around You that believed, and those that were questioning, and those that would be so skeptical that they would never want to believe. All were given the same opportunity. All could hear and see You. But their responses were all different.

Thank You Lord for giving each of us the opportunity to believe.

Thank You that You call us all and we are all invited to be Your children.

Oh how blessed we are Lord because You want us.

Those are awesome thoughts Lord. You want me…. Wow! The God of the universe want me…. I am truly blessed!

Thank You Lord.

(Martha told Jesus that Lazarus had been in the tomb for four days and he would have an odor if the stone on his tomb was taken away.) Jesus said to her, (Martha) “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” John 11:40

Lord it is so easy for us to doubt. Martha was speaking as anyone would about life as it was in the natural. Lazarus had been dead four days. It was true that he would have an odor.

Thank You Lord that You are not bound by what is natural.

Thank You for giving us the insight to believe.

Thank You for allowing us to cry out to You.

Thank You for always being with us to help us.

Thank You Lord.
