Thank You Lord that everything You told Your disciples is true.
Thank You for Your promises.
Thank You that we can trust You.

Thank You Lord for our lives.
Thank You that because You live we will live too.

(Jesus continued) “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; you know Him, for He dwells with you, and will be in you.” John 14:16, 17
Lord, thank You for giving us the Counselor.
Thank You that You not only gave the Counselor to us but He dwells within us.
Thank You for the comfort that brings us.
Thank You for Your peace Lord. What a gift! What a great way to start this new year.

Lord when we love someone it is a natural instinct to want to please them. Thank You for teaching us how to love You.
Thank You for showing us how You obeyed Your father.
Thank You for showing us it was not ‘all about you’ it was all about pleasing Your Father.
Oh to be like You Lord …..full of love.

Thank You Lord for this writing from John.
I have thought about it so often when asking. Thank You for allowing us to ask.
Thank You that You give us the insight to ask for things that bring glory to Your name. That is our goal – that is our desire – we want to glorify You. Thank You for giving us that privilege.

Thank You Lord for telling Your disciples where You were going.
Thank You for all the promises You have given us.
Thank You for telling us that we will do greater works because of You.
As we look to You Lord we find peace and joy.

John 14:11
Lord it is not easy for us to believe without proof. You kept telling Your followers that You were here about Your Father’s business. Now You were telling them if they couldn’t believe Your words then they should believe because of the works You were doing.
Thank You for the gift life.
Thank You for John’s record of Your conversations with Your disciples.
Lord it wasn’t always easy for them to understand just like there are times when we don’t understand. You were patient with them just as You are patient with us today.

Philip said to Him, (Jesus) “Lord, show us the Father and we shall be satisfied.” John 14:8
Lord, Philip like Thomas had questions. Neither could quite comprehend who You truly were. They believed You and believed in what You were saying but somehow it just didn’t sink in. They still had questions.
Lord thank You for continuing to try and explain Yourself to Your disciples.
Thank You for continuing to help us listen and understand.
Thank You for faith for when we don’t understand we can believe anyway. You show us step by step who You truly are.
You are our Lord. You are our savior.

Jesus said to him, (Thomas) “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; henceforth you know Him and have seen Him.” John 14:6, 7
Lord what love and patience You had with Your disciples. They were trying to understand but it was very hard for them to totally grasp what You meant. Thomas had told You that he did not know where You were going. Thus You told him in these verses.
Thank You Lord for coming to earth and showing us how to live to please You.
Thank You for telling us all that You are the way, the truth and the life.
