Thomas said to Him, (Jesus) “Lord, we do not know where You are going; how can we know the way?” John 14:5

Lord even though You told Thomas that You were going to prepare a place for him he still didn’t know where You were going. He was known as doubting Thomas. It was very hard for him to accept things and believe. Therefore he questioned You and didn’t understand.

Thank You Lord for Your patience with us when we don’t understand.

Thank You for continuing to tell us what You want us to know.

Thank You for not giving up on us and continuing to love us unconditionally.

Oh how blessed we are Lord.

Thank You.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “And you (disciples) know the way where I am going.” John 14:4

Thank You Lord for Your promise that You will come again to take us to be with You forever and ever.

Thank You for preparing a place for us and the hope that brings each one of us.

How grateful we are Lord for Your love for us.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” John 14:3

Thank You Lord for this great promise.

Thank You for wanting us to be with You forever and ever.

Thank You for the hope this gives us all that trust and follow You.

You will come again and You will take us to Yourself.

Thank You! Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “In My Father’s house are many rooms, if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?” John 14:2

Thank You Lord for preparing a place for us that love and serve You.

Thank You for continuing to tell You disciples what was going to happen. You never gave up Lord trying to help them understand that You had come to earth so they could have eternal life.

Thank You for Your unconditional love ….a love that is constant…a love that never fails.

Oh how blessed we are Lord to call You our Lord and Savior.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued talking with His disciples) “Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me.” John 14:1

Lord when You said this to Your disciples and John recorded it in his book John could not have known how much this verse would be used through the centuries. How often I have heard it and read it … ‘let not your heart be troubled’… Oh how easy it is to let our hearts become troubled. Stress today is here. It is ours for the taking ….and yet ringing in our ears are Your words …..’let not your hearts be troubled’…..

Thank You Lord for giving us the gift of peace.

Thank You for giving us joy.

Thank You for telling us to believe.

You are the answer to our stress Lord.

Thank You Lord.

Peter said to Him, (Jesus) “Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for You.” Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, the cock will not crow, till you have denied Me three times.” John 13:37, 38

Thank You Lord for this story of Peter that shows us how easy it is to deny You.

Peter thought he would die for You Lord and in the end he denied that he even knew You.

Thank You for continuing to love Peter just as You continue to love us.

Oh how blessed we are Lord because You love us unconditionally.

Thank YOU! Thank You Lord.

Simon Peter said to Him, (Jesus) “Lord where are You going?” Jesus answered, “Where I am going you cannot follow me now; but you shall follow afterward.” John 13:36

Lord, Your disciples never fully understood what You were talking about. They trusted You and believed in You and followed. You were trying to get them to understand that You were going to leave this earth and they could not come with You. They had a lot to learn. They had a lot to experience.

Thank You Lord for being patient when we don’t understand.

Thank You for allowing us to ask why.

Thank You for the peace You alone can give when we put our trust in You.

Oh how blessed we are Lord.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34, 35

Thank You Lord for loving us enough to die for our redemption.

Thank You for loving us unconditionally.

Thank You for helping us love and become more loving.

With You all things are possible Lord. Thank You for helping us love those that don’t treat us the way we would like to be treated.

With our eyes upon You Lord we can love as You love.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me; and as I said to the Jews and I say to you, “Where I am going you cannot come.”” John 13:33

Lord how wonderful for us that we know the rest of this story. We know what You were telling Your disciples after Judas left. You were talking about going back to heaven.

Thank You Lord for coming to earth for us.

Thank You that we can read today what happened all those years ago when You were here.

Thank You for calling us all to ‘come follow You.’

Thank You Lord.

When he (Judas) had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of man glorified, and to Him God is glorified; if God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him at once.” John 13:31, 32

Lord thank You for coming to earth to die for us.

Thank You for showing us how to live.

You were here to glorify Your father just as we are here to glorify our Father.

We have much to thank You for Lord.

Thank You for giving us life.

Thank You Lord.
