(Jesus continued) “You are already made clean by the word which I have spoken to you.” John 15:3

Thank You Lord for making us clean.

Thank You for coming to earth to redeem us.

Thank You for the joy in serving You.

Oh how can we ever thank You enough Lord.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued after saying – I am the true vine and My Father is the vinedresser.) “Every branch of Mine that bears no fruit, He takes away and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes that it may bear more fruit.” John 15:2

Lord the pruning process is an interesting process. It can be looked at in two ways. 1. As a very painful event. 2. As an exciting event because there will be a lot more fruit.

Lord once again You used the familiar to teach Your disciples. They could understand because there were grape vines all around their area. Thank You for teaching us in a manner we can understand and learn.

Thank You for giving us a choice in how we react to those times You prune us for more fruit.

Thank You for always being with us through each trial and each joy in our lives.

You are ALWAYS there.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “I am the true vine and My Father is the vinedresser.” John 15:1

Lord You gave such vivid examples allowing Your disciples to relate and understand. Wine was so prevalent when You were here on earth. It was something Your disciples could relate to and understand.

Thank You for the example of how much You were loved by Your Father. For it is in pruning that the vines grow and produce fruit. It is the tender care of the vinedresser that allows the grapes to grow and mature.

Thank You Lord for caring about us and giving us the ability to grow and change.

It’s Your wonderful gift given to each of us.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over Me; but I do as the Father has commanded Me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go hence.” John 14:30, 31

Thank You Lord for Your close relationship with Your disciples.

Thank You for wanting a close relationship with us.

Thank You that the ruler of this world has no power over us just as it had no power over You.

Thank You for Your protections and unconditional love.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “You heard Me say to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you love Me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place, you may believe.” John 14:28, 29

Thank You Lord for Your disciples and the relationship You had with them while You were on earth.

Thank You for telling them what was going to happen to You.

Thank You for John’s recording of the events.

Lord we are so fortunate to know all these things.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27

Lord this is a wonderful verse. One of my favorites. It is our gift from You. Peace….a peace that the world cannot provide. A peace that is there in the midst of the storms of life. A peace that comes because we are trusting You. And Lord it is ours because You gave it to us as a gift. We don’t have to work for it we just have to accept it.

Humbly I bow in gratitude.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “These things I have spoken to you, while I am still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” John 14:25, 26

Lord I love these verses recorded by John. Thank You for Your promises.

Thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit to teach us and help us remember all that You have taught us.

Thank You for the reminder that is brought to our minds of Your peace that is ours for the taking.

Oh how great it is to remember Your promises.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.” John 14:24

Lord if we could only realize how rich our life could be if we followed You and obeyed You like Jesus did. The more we read Your word and pray the more like You we become.

Thank You for giving us the opportunity to come to You in prayer.

Thank You for giving us the ability to learn when we sit at Your feet and listen.

You are always there loving us. Thank You!

Thank You Lord.

Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, (Jesus) “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us and not to the world?” Jesus answered him, “If a man loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
John 14:22, 23

Thank You Lord for always being with us.

Thank You for Your promises that are just as true today as they were when You walked this earth.

Oh how blessed we are.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued talking with His disciples) “He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” John 14:21

Thank You Lord for showing us how to love and be loved.

Thank You for teaching the disciples about Your Father.

Thank You for giving us the Bible so we too can learn from You.

Thank You that as we learn more and more about You we too get to know You better and better.

We have everything because of You Lord.

Thank You Lord.
