Thought For Today

A bribe is like a magic stone in the eyes of him who gives it; wherever he turns he prospers. Proverbs 17:9

Thank You Lord for helping us be honest in all we do and think.

Thank You for the friends and family that are honest too. Truly it is a gift and I have to admit thinking about it has made me realize how I take it for granted.

It is a wonderful gift to be honest and have honest friends and family and I thank You.

Fine speech is not becoming to a fool; still less is false speech to a prince. Proverbs 17:7

Thank You Lord for giving us the ability to choose what we will believe. We may have to listen but we can choose to accept or reject what we hear. It is Your gift of discernment that often helps us know the truth.

Thank You for Your answers when I pray for discernment. I appreciate so much hearing Your still small voice that leads me in the right direction.

I love You Lord and I want to be all I can be for You. Thank You for guiding and directing me as I keep my eyes upon You.

Grandchildren are the crown of the aged and the glory of sons is their fathers. Proverbs 17:6

Thank You Lord for my two grandmothers and one grandfather that I grew up with. I have wonderful memories of all three of them. Each one knew You and loved You and lived their lives to please You.

Thank You Lord for the gift they were to me and I was to them. It is a wonderful heritage and one I am thankful for today.

What a wonderful blessing they were and a true gift to enjoy. Thank You Lord for each one of them.

Lord how wonderful to have a father like Solomon was to his son. This whole book thus far is Solomon warning his son what to watch out for.

Thank You Lord for Your discernment. You gave it to Solomon and You give it to us too. Thank You!

Thank You Lord for knowing our hearts.

Thank You for knowing all about us.

What a gift it is to be Your child Lord.

A slave who deals wisely will rule over a son who acts shamefully and will share the inheritance as one of the brothers. Proverbs 17:2

Thank You Lord for those that are helpers today that are so thoughtful and helpful they seem more like a friend then a paid employee.

Solomon wanted his son to learn that lesson. How wonderful to have a son that listen to the advice and follows it.

Lord thank You for the advice You are providing for us through the book that Solomon wrote. We are learning. As we learn and change we become more and more like You Lord and we thank You.

Lord ….Solomon’s wisdom sure says a lot here.

It truly is a gift to live in a house where there is peace and contentment.

They bring a smile to our face and a song in our hearts. Thank You.

Thank You for always being there to listen to us ….day or night You are never not there. What a comfort. What a joy. Oh how we thank and praise You.

Thank You Lord for the gift of self-control. That is what Solomon is talking about here. It truly is a wonderful gift.

To some it comes very natural as a part of their God given personality.

Thank You for helping us that don’t have that natural ability. You are always there when we cry out for help and we thank You.

Thank You for helping us moment by moment and day by day to become more and more like You.
