The rest of this chapter is what king Lemuel’s mother taught him about a wife. “A good wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.” Proverbs 31:10
Thank You Lord for the Godly wives in this world.
Thank You for the women that strive to be all You have created them to be. They love You Lord and their lives shine forth with Your love.
Thank You for prayer that changes each one that asks into this type of a wife…. moment by moment….. and step by step.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

The words of Lemuel, king of Massa, which his mother taught him: What, my son? What, son of my womb? What, son of my vows? Give not your strength to women, your ways to those who destroy kings. It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for rulers to desire strong drink; lest they drink and forget what has been decreed, and pervert the rights of all the afflicted. Give strong drink to him who is perishing, and wine to those in bitter distress; let them drink and forget their poverty, and remember their misery no more. Open your mouth for the dumb, for the rights of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, maintain the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:1 -9
Thank You Lord for mothers that love You and have taught or are teaching us just as Lemuel’s mother taught him.
Thank You Lord for my own mother that loved You and taught us six children. We each love You today Lord and have passed Your love and wisdom on to our children.
What a gift and what a blessing to love and serve You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

This is the way Agur ends this chapter. If you have been foolish, exalting yourself, or if you have been devising evil, put your hand on your mouth. For pressing milk produces curds, pressing the nose produces blood, and pressing anger produces strife. Proverbs 30:32, 33.
Thank You Lord for Agur’s wisdom. These verses certainly need no explanation.
Thank You for helping us become more and more like You Lord. We need Your strength and Your power in our lives to change us. You are always there…..never leaving us …..and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Three things are stately in their tread; four are stately in their stride: the lion which is mightiest among beasts and does not turn back before any; the strutting cock, the he-goat, and a king striding before his people. Proverbs 30:29 – 31
Lord…once again Agur is thinking about the animals You created and their uniqueness. Each one is different just as each one of us are different. We all have strengths and we all have weaknesses.
The good news is You love us unconditionally and You change us from the inside out. Oh how we praise and thank You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Four things on earth are small but they are exceedingly wise: the ants are a people not strong, yet they provide their food in the summer; the badgers are a people not mighty, yet they make their homes in the rocks; the locusts have no king, yet all of them march in rank; the lizard you can take in your hand, yet it is in kings’ palaces. Proverbs 30:24 – 28
Thank You Lord for reminding us how each animal was made by You. The amazing abilities were given each of them by You. They too have a place on this earth just as we do and we thank You for them.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Under three things the earth trembles; under four it cannot bear up; a slave when he becomes king, and a fool when he is filled with food; an unloved woman when she gets a husband, and a maid when she succeeds her mistress. Proverbs 30:21 – 23
Thank You Lord for our ability to make choices. You are always only a prayer away to guide and direct us. We are never alone and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Three things are too wonderful for me; four I do not understand; the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a serpent on a rock, the way of a ship on the high seas, and the way of a man with a maiden. This is the way of an adulteress; she eats, and wipes her mouth and says, “I have done no wrong.” Proverbs 30:18 – 20
Thank You Lord for all You have given us.
Agur is no doubt in a thinking and pondering mood. He gives us food for thought and helps us appreciate his knowledge as we also ponder. There are a lot of interesting and amazing things when we stop to take notice. I was watching a barge go down the river last night with all its lights shining. It was a beautiful sight as it glided along pushing its cargo. I, like Agur, watched in amazement as it floated along. An everyday sight to behold and enjoy.
Thank You for those little things in our lives that show us You are there Lord. How we need them and appreciate them.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother will be picked out by the ravens of the valley and eaten by the vultures. Proverbs 30:17
Lord thank You for helping us live for You.
Thank You for Your Unconditional love.
Thank You Lord.

The leech has two daughter; “Give, give” they cry. Three things are never satisfied; for never say, “Enough”: Sheol, the barren womb, the earth ever thirsty for water, and the fire which never says, “Enough.” Proverbs 30:15, 16
Lord this verse sure brings back vivid memories for me and I totally understand what Agur is trying to teach us. Once a leech gets on you they will just continue to suck your blood. They are hard to get off. That happened to me at my Aunt and Uncle’s cottage and what a vivid memory this verse gives me. Certainly nothing satisfies them. They will not let go.
Thank You Lord for satisfying us. What a tremendous gift we all are given when we turn our lives over to You. Thank You for Your gift of love.
Thank You Lord.
Amen

There are those who curse their fathers and do not bless their mothers. There are those who are pure in their own eyes but are not cleansed of their filth. There are those—how lofty are their eyes, how high their eyelids lift! There are those whose teeth are swords, whose teeth are knives; to devour the poor from off the earth, the needy from among men. Proverbs 30:11 – 14
Oh Lord as I read these words it reminds me that this is what You want to change us from into Your likeness.
Thank You for only being a prayer away when we realize there are some of these things in our lives.
Thank You for Your power that changes us moment by moment as we seek You.
Thank You Lord.
Amen
