Thought For Today

A good wife who can find? …. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently but you surpass them all.” Proverbs 31:27 – 29

Thank You Lord for people that make this world a better place.

This woman that Lemuel’s mother taught him about was that kind of woman. She not only gave to her family she also gave to the community.

Thank You for guiding us with Your wisdom, strength and insight. We can and do make a difference as we look to You.

A good wife who can find? ….. She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers girdles to the merchant. Strength and dignity are her clothing and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. Proverbs 31:24 – 26

Thank You Lord for each of the gifts You have given us.

Thank You for our personalities.

Thank You for giving us Your wisdom and insights.

All gifts from You Lord and we thank You.

A good wife who can find? …. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. Proverbs 31:23

Lord thank You for all You are teaching us about this wife.

As I think on this verse I wonder if her husband could sit at the gates among the elders because of the woman that was his wife. Did he have that special honor because of her and all she was doing.

Truly Lord our love for You calls each of us to be all we can be for You to bring honor and glory to Your name. Thank You for helping us each moment of every day.

A good wife who can find? … She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet. She makes herself coverings; her clothing is fine linen and purple. Proverbs 31:21, 22

Thank You Lord for our options today in clothing.

Thank You that we can make our own or we can buy them.

These verses have caused me to stop and thank You for all I have been given and all I have to choose from.

A good wife who can find? She puts her hands to the distaff and her hands hold the spindle. She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy. Proverbs 31:19, 20

Thank You Lord for those that reach out their hands to the needy.

Thank You for those that smile and bring cheer just by being in their presence.

Thank You for the joy in being around others that laugh and enjoy life.

I am so, so blessed and I thank You.

A good wife who can find? ……. She girds her loins with strength and makes her arms strong. She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night. Proverbs 31:17, 18

Thank You Lord for strength to accomplish the tasks that are set before us. Oh how easy it is Lord to take strength for granted but once we have surgery or an accident or illness and the strength is gone it gives us a whole new appreciation. We never again take our strength for granted. We become very grateful for it each and every day. Oh how we thank You.

A good wife who can find?…… She is like the ships of the merchant, she brings her food from afar. She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her house-hold and tasks for her maidens. She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she-plants a vineyard. Proverbs 31:14 – 16.

Lord thank You for the women of this world that toil endlessly with grateful hearts. Always busy….always joyful…enjoying the gifts You have given them. They are gifts to us and we love and appreciate their gifts. Thank You for each one of them.

Lord what a gift a person ….man or woman……is that works with willing hands.

Thank You for those that love to do what they are called to do.

There is such joy being around those types of people and I thank You for each one of them in my life.

Lord we all want to be good wives. We all want to be the best we can be for our husband but even more than that Lord we all want to be the best we can be for You.
