Thought For Today

As for me, I am poor and needy; but the Lord takes thought for me. Thou art my help and my deliverer; do not tarry, O my God! Psalms 40:17

Lord we can identify with David. He knew You were his help and his deliverer. He is asking You to hurry and deliver him.

Thank You Lord for Your perfect timing. Oh, so often we don’t think it is perfect but in the end we know it is. Thank You for always helping us. We love You Lord and thank You for being with us each moment of this day.

But may all who seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee; may those who love Thy salvation say continually, “Great is the Lord!” Psalms 40:16

Lord those of us that know You certain can say ….. ‘Great is the Lord!’ We have You with us day and night. You have ask us to come to You and praise You…..come to You and bring our burdens and lay them at Your cross. You love us unconditionally. You care about every part of our lives. You are OUR Lord and savior and we praise and thank You.

For evils have encompassed me without number; my iniquities have overtaken me, till I cannot see; they are more than the hairs of my head; my heart fails me. Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me! O Lord, make haste to help me! Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor who desire my hurt! Let them be appalled because of their shame who say to me, “Aha, Aha!” Psalms 40:12 – 15

Thank You Lord that we like David can go to You for help. You are there. You are with us. We are never without Your presence. Thank You for being with us today. Thank You for helping us focus on Your love for us for it is then the peace that passes all human understanding floods us and comforts us. Oh how we thank You.

Do not Thou, O Lord, withhold Thy mercy from me, let Thy steadfast love and Thy faithfulness ever preserve me! Psalms 40:11

Thank You Lord that Your steadfast love was not only with David but it is with us this very moment today too. Thank You for being here and loving us with Your unconditional love. We love You Lord and thank you for always being with us.

I have not hid Thy saving help within my heart, I have spoken of Thy faithfulness and Thy salvation. I have not concealed Thy steadfast love and Thy faithfulness from the great congregation, Psalms 40:10

Lord how wonderful it is to share Your love with others. David wanted others to know what You had done in his life. He was thankful for Your salvation and Your steadfast love. Oh how we love You Lord and thank You for our many blessings. Thank You for Your unconditional love. Thank You for helping us share Your love with each person we meet.

I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; lo, I have not restrained my lips, as Thou knowest, O Lord. Psalms 40:9

Lord loving You as he did David wanted to tell everyone how You had helped him. We too Lord are just like David….we too want to share the good news when we have answers to our prayers. Thank You for asking us over and over to ‘let our requests be made to You.’ Thank You for the many answers to prayers we have been given. Thank You for being with us today. We need You Lord and thank You.

Sacrifice and offering Thou dost not desire; but Thou hast given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering Thou hast not required. Then I said, “Lo I come; in the roll of the book it is written of me; I delight to do Thy will, O my God; Thy law is within my heart.” Psalms 40:6 – 8

Lord …how we thank You for having an open ear for us too. You hear us when we pray. You bring peace and comfort as we put our trust in You. We delight to do Your will just as David did because it is the best for our lives. It is amazing the contentment You give when we obey Your desire for our lives. We love You Lord and thank You for loving us.

Thou hast multiplied, O Lord my God, Thy wondrous deeds and Thy thoughts toward us; none can compare with Thee! Were I to proclaim and tell of them, they would be more than can be remembered. Psalms 40:5

Lord …David is so right. How can we ever begin to thank You enough for all the blessing You have given us. Thank You for Your unconditional love for us that picks us up when we stumble and fall. Thank You for showing us the way to live for You. As we count our blessings today we thank You for each one.

Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after false gods! Psalms 40:4

Lord ..thank You for helping us trust You in ALL situations. Often we wonder ….why….and question and You help us continue to trust. You are there. You do want the very best for our lives. You see what we can’t see and know what we can’t know. Oh how we thank You that we can trust and obey and as the song says ‘for there’s no other way.’ We thank and praise You for being with us each step of our way today.

He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord. Psalms 40:3

Thank You Lord for music. There is something about music that reaches deep within us and gives us peace. I thank You for my voice and ability to sing. It has been and still is a great joy in my life. There are times on the way to work that I just burst into a song to thank You. Thank You that You are with me. Thank You for the joy in knowing and loving You. Thank You for helping me to be the best employee I can be to bring honor and glory to Your name. Thank You for the wisdom You give when I ask You. Thank You as I pray for protection for myself and my co-workers. I feel Your presence and I like David put my trust in You and thank You.
