Thought For Today

Thou hast made us like sheep for slaughter, and hast scattered us among the nations. Thou hast sold Thy people for a trifle, demanding no high price for them. Thou hast made us the taunt of our neighbors; the derision and scorn of those about us. Thou has made us a byword among the nations, a laughingstock among the people. Psalms 44:11 – 14

Lord once again we read what David said You didn’t do. AND this isn’t the end he continues as we read on to point out what he thought You had caused because You didn’t answer his request. We know in the end his story changes and he thanks You for who and what You are.

Thank You for Your unconditional love for David and also for us. Thank You for helping us realize that You love us and have promised us that ALL things work together for good because we love You. We certainly don’t have the answers but we trust You to help us through each difficult circumstance. Thank You for being here today to help us.

Yet Thou hast cast us off and abased us, and hast not gone out with our armies. Thou hast made us turn back from the foe; and our enemies have gotten spoil. Psalms 44:9, 10

Lord …it is going to be several verses with David telling You everything You have done wrong. He is wondering where You are and why You have not helped him. Lord we confess we do the same thing when we have not received Your answer the way we wanted it. Thank You for helping us through those hard times. Thank You for Your comfort. Thank You for Your peace. Thank You for Your JOY!

Thank You Lord for answered prayers. Often Lord those prayers are not answered the way we would like them to be answered because You know what is best for our lives. Thank You for knowing all about us and loving us unconditionally. Thank You for being with us through each difficult time in our lives. We love You Lord and thank You for ALWAYS being with us.

Thank You Lord that we don’t have to do thing in only our own strength. You are there to help us. You are our encourager. You are our rock. Today we stand upon Your promise to never leave us or forsake us. You are here Lord and we thank You.

Thank You Lord for being my King and my God. Thank You for the answers to prayers and the victories I have seen in my lifetime. Thank You for helping me listen to Your still small voice that leads me on when I ask direction. I love You Lord and thank You for Your unconditional love for me.

We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what deeds Thou didst pe3rform in their days, in the days of old; Thou with Thy own hand didst drive out the nations, but them Thou didst plant; Thou didst afflict the peoples, but them Thou didst set free; for not by their own sword did they win the land, nor did their own arm give them victory; but Thy right hand, and Thy arm, and the light of Thy countenance; for Thou didst delight in them. Psalms 44:1 – 3

Lord what a beautiful thought to think of today. You delight in us because we are Your children. Victory is ours because You are on our side. Miracles happen because we love You and look to You for answers. Thank You for the many gifts we will experience today.

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my help and my God. Psalms 43:5

Lord how easy it is for we as humans to get our eyes focused on the issues of the day and forget who is truly in control. Thank You for being our help and our God. Thank You for only being a prayers away. Thank You for calming our disquieted heart and bringing us peace in the midst of the storms of life. Thank You for giving us a peace that passes all human understanding. You are there and we thank You.

Lord…there is a shiver that goes up my spine when I hear David say… O God, my God. When we let that sink into our souls and realize what he is saying it changes our lives. When we stop and think….O God, my God. The God of the Universe is MY GOD. You care about me Lord. I matter to You. You love me. Wow Lord. I humbly bow and thank You.

David continues …. Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against all ungodly people; from deceitful and unjust men deliver me. For Thou art the God in whom I take refuge; why hast Thou cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? Psalms 43:1, 2

Lord ….We are all so much like David. We want to have our situation changed rather than wait for You to act. Thank You for Your patience with us. Thank You for Your unconditional love. You are our rock. Thank You for being with us each moment of this day. We love You Lord and thank You for Your many blessings.

I say to God, my rock; “Why hast Thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” As with a deadly wound in my body, my adversaries taunt me, while they say to me continually, “Where is your God.” Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my help and my God. Psalms 42:9 – 11

Lord ….David always comes back to You and Your faithfulness to him. He feels forgotten and wonders if You have forgotten him and then after he goes through everything he knows that You are his rock and You are his only hope. He has seen You work miracles in his life before and he knows You will do that again.

Lord I am so glad You are that same God today that was with David. There are times when we too wonder when our answer will come. Will it be too late. Are you really there? And then we like David think back upon our life and see the many miracles and know… You are there. You love us unconditionally. Help is on the way. AND once again our hearts beat with excitement for all You have planned for our lives. Thank You Lord for ALWAYS being with us.
