Thought For Today

When men in the camp were jealous of Moses and Aaron, the holy one of the Lord, the earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and covered the company of Abiram. Fire also broke out in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. Psalms 106:16 – 18

Lord over and over we see Your power and Your love manifested. Verses like this one remind us how powerful You truly are. There is nothing too hard for You. Thank You for getting our attention and reminding us of Your love and concern for us.

But they soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel. But they had a wanton craving in the wilderness, and put God to the test in the dessert; He gave them what they asked, but sent a wasting disease among them. Psalms 106:13 – 15

Lord You saved Your people and they totally forgot what You had done for them. We can’t fault them because we have oh too often done the same thing. Thank You for Your forgiveness. Thank You for Your unconditional love. We love You Lord and thank You.

Both we and our fathers have sinned; we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly. Our fathers, when they were in Egypt, did not consider Thy wonderful works; they did not remember the abundance of Thy steadfast love, but rebelled against the Most High at the red sea. Yet He saved them for His name’s sake. Psalms 106:6 – 8

Thank You Lord for helping us understand Your love for us as Your people when we read verses like these. Thank You for being there to pick us up when we fall just as You were there to pick those up that were Your followers that have gone before us. We read these things after the fact and see Your mercy and Your love. There are many things today we are not seeing too and are not thanking You for. Perhaps some day we will look back and thank You too. We know You are with us today and we thank You.

Thank You Lord for verses like this one that remind us how much we are blessed. How wonderful it is to follow You and listen to what You have to teach us. Every day walking with You is an adventure. Thank You for today and Your many gifts and blessings.

Who can utter the mighty doings of the Lord, or show forth all His praise? Psalms 106:2

Thank You Lord for all the mighty things You have done for us. There is so much to thank and praise You for. Thank You for coming to earth. Thank You for giving us the privilege of asking and receiving. Each day is our gift from You and we thank You for guiding and directing us.

Thank You Lord for Your unconditional love. Thank You that Your love does endure forever. We are reading about Your love and these words were written a long time ago. Your love is still here for us today and we thank You.

So He led forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with singing. And He gave them the lands of the nations; and they took possession of the fruit of the peoples’ toil, to the end that they should keep His statutes, and observe His laws. Praise the Lord!

Thank You Lord for being the same Lord that leads Your people today. You lead Your people with joy and singing. Today we long to be that same sort of person that is full of Your joy. We too praise and thank You for all You have given us and done for us. Thank You for all You are doing for us today.

Lord what a beautiful plan You had for Your people. There is nothing too hard for You. Thank You for the many gifts and blessings You provide for us every day. Thank You for Your peace and joy. We love You Lord and thank You.

Egypt was glad when they departed for dread of them had fallen upon it. Psalms 105:38

Thank You Lord for being with us each moment. You were watching how the Egyptians were treating Your people. They were not getting away with anything even though they thought they could mistreat them. You sent so many thing to interfere with their lives that they were glad to see Your people leave. Thank You for being that same Lord that watches over us. We are truly blessed.

Then He led forth Israel with silver and gold, and there was none among His tribes who stumbled. Psalms 105:37

Lord how interesting that it would be noted here that as Your people were led forth out of Egypt that no one even stumbled. These were people that were tired and yet not one of them stumbled. What an awesome God we serve. Thank You Lord for helping us today not to stumble. You are that same Lord today and we are Your people. You are leading us today and we thank You.
