Thought For Today

Hark, glad songs of victory in the tents of the righteous; “The right hand of the Lord does valiantly, the right hand of the Lord is exalted, the right hand of the Lord does valiantly!” I shall not die, but I shall live; and recount the deeds of the Lord. Psalms 118:15 – 17

Lord … I can feel the excitement David had when his life was spared. As he stopped to recount the many times he could have been killed he couldn’t stop praising You. He wanted to never forget how his life had been spared.

Thank You Lord for another day. Thank You for the many reasons we have to ‘recount the deeds of the Lord’ in our own lives. Thank You for Your unconditional love that is always with us. We love You Lord and thank You.

Thank You Lord for being our strength and our song. Thank You for reminding us that NOTHING is too hard for You. Thank You for the gift of music. It is amazing how it lifts us up once we begin singing or hear a song. What a gift it is in our lives. Thank You for Your peace today.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in princes. Psalms 118, 8, 9

Thank You Lord for the safety there is when we take refuge in You. Your many promises show us how much You care for us. ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’. Those words bring comfort in our darkest hours when we are all alone. I have felt Your strength when going through the MRI tube ….yes, all alone or was I. You were right there Lord bringing peace and comfort. Oh how we need Your refuge today and we thank You it is always there.

With the Lord on my side I do not fear. What can man do to me? The Lord is on my side to help me; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me. Psalms 118:6, 7

Thank You Lord for giving us Your strength to stand against those that would love to destroy us. Thank You for giving us the wisdom we need when we need it. As the Psalmist reminds us we may not see that triumph immediately but we know it is coming. The wait is not easy Lord but our faith grows stronger as we trust You and pray. Thank You for Your promise that we can do ALL things through You that strengthens us. Oh how we thank You for that promise. Thank You for another day to love and serve You.

Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. Psalms 118:5

Thank You Lord for hearing our cries. Thank You for always listening and always giving us just what we need when we need it. It may not be the answer we want but it certainly is the answer that is best for us. You know Lord I am one of Your ‘WHY’ children. I am always looking for answers as to WHY something is happening. Do You give me answers….sometimes and sometimes not. If it is ‘sometimes’ I know I have to accept that You are God and I am Pat and it isn’t for me to know today. That is my answer and I thank You for loving me and I accept that You know best for my life. That is when the peace and acceptance comes and I thank and praise You.

Thank You for Your guidance and directions as we all begin a new year.

O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His steadfast love endures forever! Psalms 118:1

Thank You Lord for reminding us over and over how much You love us and will love us forever. As we begin a new year we want to focus on Your love and goodness. There is a lot going on in our world today that so easily can take our eyes off of You. How comforting it is to stop and remember…’the Lord is good’ and ‘Your steadfast love endure forever.” Oh how we thank You. We are safe in Your loving care.

Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol Him, all peoples! For great is His steadfast love toward us; and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord! Psalms 117:the whole chapter.

Lord how blessed we are to over and over read of Your steadfast love and You faithfulness. How we thank You as we look forward to another year to know that You will be with us to guide us and direct us. Your love will ALWAYS surround us. Your faithfulness will ALWAYS be there to hear our prayers. You will surround us with Your love and bring us just what we need when we need it. Thank You Lord! I just can’t say that enough. Thank You Lord for the peace that ONLY YOU can give us. We are truly blessed.

Lord this is a very meaningful time in our lives. We celebrate Your birth every December 25th. Thank You for coming to earth to not only redeem us but to also show us how to live our lives. We love You Lord and thank You for the many ways every day You have been with us to bring comfort and joy. Thank You for the joy Christmas brings us. Thank You for Your peace.

I will pay my vows to the Lord in the presence of all His people. In the courts of the house of the Lord, in your midst, O Jerusalem. Praise the Lord! Psalms 116:18, 19

Lord we know that David had cried out to You to save his life and thus he couldn’t keep quiet about it. He wanted all the people to see and realize what You had done for him by saving him. Lord… we too know that feeling when we see Your miracles all around us. Our hearts rejoice and that rejoicing just spills out of us unto all that are around us. Thank You for hearing our prayers. Thank You for Your answers. Thank You for the peace that only You can bring even when our prayers aren’t answered as we wanted. Thank You for helping us trust You today. We love You Lord and thank You for guiding us each moment today.
