Thought For Today

“I am the A and the Z, the Beginning and the Ending of all things,” says God, who is the Lord, the All Powerful One who is, and was, and is coming again! Revelation 1:8

Thank You Lord for this awesome verse. My heart is blessed reading it over and over. It says so much to those of us that await Your return. You are the ‘All Powerful One.’ Our lives are blessed because of You. Thank You for guiding us today. Oh how we love You and thank You.

Behold, I (Jesus) stand at the door and knock: if anyone hears My voice and opens the door to Me, I will enter His house and dine with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:20

Lord…thank You for knocking and giving us the opportunity to open. It is our choice and our decision if we want to let You in. Your gifts and blessing are there for all who open and let You in. You promise us that ‘old things will pass away and all things will become new.’ Thanks You for Your joy and Your peace that we are experiencing today because we said ‘Yes, please come in.’ We love You Lord and thank You.

And I (Luke) was a constant example to you in helping the poor; for I remembered the words of the Lord Jesus, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ Acts 20:35

Lord …thank You for the blessings we receive when we give. There are so many ways to give and there are so many untold blessings received for giving. Thank You for the blessings we receive when we give willing of our money, time and talents. Thank You that our giving does not have to be with only money. Our giving can be a smile that can brighten someone’s day. It can be time spent with someone that needs a listening ear. There are so many ways to give with a joyful heart. You call us to share our lives with all those we meet and what a joy it is to do that. Thank You for each blessing we will receive today because we were listening to You and were willing to give.

Jesus continued, “The second most important (commandment) is similar: ‘Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself.’ All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets stem from these two laws and are fulfilled if you obey them. Keep only these and you will find that you are obeying all the others.” Matthew 22:39, 40

Thank You Lord for giving us guidelines to enrich our lives. First we must love You with all our ‘hearts, souls and minds. Lord Your great love for us and the great rewards we receive make that very easy. We want to keep our eyes focused upon You.

Second we are to love our neighbor just as much as we love ourselves. Lord…that often is pretty hard to do. Often we have to call on You to be able to do that. We often need Your wisdom and Your guidance. Thank You for being there to help us accomplish what You have called us to do. There is victory because of Your help and we praise and thank You.

Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” Matthew 22:37, 38

Thank You Lord for this first and most important commandment. Lord when we put You in the proper place in our lives we have peace and joy. Thank You for helping us through each day. You have given us today and we thank You for it. It is Your gift to us and we ‘love You with all our hearts, souls and minds.’

Jesus said, “I also tell you this—if two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask for, My Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together because they are mine, I will be right there among them.” Matthew 19, 20

Lord I have always loved these verses. What a great promise to stand on. I am reminded of them so often when I pray. Growing up we always had prayer meetings at my church every Wednesday night. As an adult I thanked You for that precious time when we came together to pray for others and ourselves too. AND there You were in our midst as we gathered. You were listening and our prayers were answered. Wonderful memories that have lingered from years ago.

Today I thank You that You are that same Lord. Today You are still answering our prayers. Today You are still in our midst when two or three are gathered together because we love You. My heart if full of gratitude and thankfulness.

Thank You Lord for going to prepare a place for us to live with You for all eternity. True we have no idea when You will come for all those that love You but we all know You will come again. That promise gives us all courage each day as we wait for Your return. Thank You for giving us Your peace and Your joy today.

Thank You Lord for teaching us how to live our lives each and every day. Thank You that we don’t have to walk this earth alone. Thank You for taking each step with us. Thank You for helping us treat each person as we would want to be treated.

Ask, and you will be given what you ask for. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. Anyone who seeks, finds. If only you will knock the door will open. Matthew 7:7, 8

Thank You Lord for being there for us when we ‘Ask, Seek and Knock.’ When we ‘ask’ we are given blessings from You that are amazing. We are filled with Your peace and Your joy. When we ‘seek’ we find You waiting to teach us how enriched our lives can be when we listen and follow You. When we ‘knock’ Your door is open wide for us to walk in and experience joys beyond our own imaginations. Oh how we thank You Lord for welcoming us with open arms of love. How can we ever stop thanking You for all our blessings.

DON’T CRITICIZE, and then you won’t be criticized. For others will treat you as you treat them. And why worry about a speck in the eye of a brother when you have a board in your own? Matthew 7:1 – 3

Oh Lord how we need to be reminded. It is so easy to have a critical spirit. Thank You for setting our feet upon the right pathway once again today. Thank You for helping us show love to those on our pathway. Thank You for helping us see the board in our own eyes and ask You for healing. Thank You for answered prayers. Thank You for filling us with Your love and compassion.
