Thought For Today

Now glory be to God who by His mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes. Ephesians 3:20

Thank You Lord for Your mighty power that is at work within us. It is amazing. It is far more than ‘we would ever dare to ask … or even dream of.’ Lord we thank You for caring that much for us. You are with us right now and we thank You. Your miracles are happening and we thank You. Thank You for opening our eyes to see and appreciate all Your gifts and blessings today.

And I (Paul) pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in Him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how deep, and how high His love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God Himself. Ephesians 3:17 – 19

Thank You Lord for Paul’s prayer for the people he loved. This is certainly our prayer today too Lord. Oh to be like You….full of Your love. Thank You for filling us with Your love today.

Now we can come fearlessly right into God’s presence, assured of His glad welcome when we come with Christ and trust in Him. Ephesians 3:12

Thank You Lord for always welcoming us with open arms. Thank You for showering us with Your love and concern. Thank You for the calmness You provide in the midst of life’s storms. You are always there reminding us that ‘ALL things work together for good.’ We love You Lord and thank You.

We who believe are carefully joined together with Christ as parts of a beautiful constantly growing temple for God. And you also are joined with Him and with each other by the Spirit, and are part of the dwelling place of God. Ephesians 2:21, 22

Lord thank You for the beautiful thoughts that come to my mind as I read these two verses. Your love for each one of us shines brightly. We are ‘parts of a beautiful constantly growing temple for God.’ How wonderful Lord that we continue to grow and change into Your likeness. What a gift and blessing. AND Lord there is even more…we are ‘part of the dwelling place of God.’ What strength and power we are given Lord because of You. Oh how we praise and thank You.

It is God Himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus, and long ages ago He planned that we should spend these lives in helping others. Ephesians 2:10

Thank You Lord for the wonderful plan You have for our lives. Thank You for the reminder today that Your plan was ‘that we should spend these lives in helping others.’ Perhaps that is the reason we feel so blessed when we are able to help someone else. It is what You have made us for and what You have given us the wisdom to do. It is You working in and through us helping us know how to help. Thank You for showing us those that need Your touch today.

Because of His kindness you have been saved through trusting Christ. And even trusting is not of yourselves it too is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it. Ephesians 2:8, 9

Lord how I thank You for being such an awesome Savior. You have provided everything for us to trust and obey You. Your salvation is a free gift given to all of us that open our hearts and let You have control of our lives. Finished! Over and done! A free gift. Nothing more required. Oh but Lord how we want to do all we can to bring honor and glory to Your name. That is where the joy and peace in our lives begins. Because of You Lord we have Your peace and Your joy and Your love to share. Oh how we praise and thank You.

But God is so rich in mercy; He loved us so much that even though we were spiritually dead and doomed by our sins, He gave us back our lives again when He raised Christ from the dead—only by His undeserved favor have we ever been saved—and lifted us up from the grave into glory along with Christ, where we sit with Him in the heavenly realms—all because of what Christ Jesus did. Ephesians 2:4 – 6

Thank You Lord! And this is what we celebrated this past weekend at Easter. You gave Your all so that we might live with You forever and ever. Oh how we praise and thank You that we have a living Savior that loved us enough to die for us.

That evening (after Jesus rose from the tomb) the disciples were meeting behind locked doors, in fear of the Jewish leaders, when suddenly Jesus was standing there among them! After greeting them, He showed them His hands and side. And how wonderful was their joy as they saw their Lord! John 20:19, 20

Lord…how our hearts rejoiced yesterday and the joy is flooding over into today too. Thank You that we don’t have to hide behind locked doors we can have inspiring Easter services and rejoice in the fact that You are alive. We are truly bless and we thank You.

By now it was noon, and darkness fell across the whole land for three hours, until three o’clock. The light from the sun was gone—and suddenly the thick veil hanging in the Temple split apart. Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I commit My spirit to You,” and with those words He died. Luke 23:44 – 46

Thank You Lord for dying to redeem us. Today is Good Friday. My mind was reflecting on the fact we call this Good Friday. How could that be? Our hearts are saddened as we reflect on the brutality of Your death… how can we call this GOOD. And then my heart began rejoicing as I KNOW this event in Your life brought hope to a fallen world. Death could not hold on to You because You rose again and conquered it in victory. Truly this is GOOD Friday for You are alive. You came to give us life …life everlasting. Oh how we thank and praise You especially today. It is a very GOOD Friday. Our lives reflect Your love. We rejoice! We say Thank YOU! Thank You for dying for each one of us.

And God has put all things under His feet and made Him the supreme Head of the church –which is His body, filled with Himself, the Author and Giver of everything everywhere. Ephesians 1:22, 23

Thank You Lord for giving us today. Thank You for the confidence in knowing that You are right here with us filling us with Your peace and Your love. We love You Lord and thank You for guiding and directing us today.
