And He (Jesus) laid His hands upon her, (the woman with the infirmity for 18 years) and immediately she was made straight, and she praised God. Luke 13:13
Lord what must it have been like for those in the synagogue at that time.
Eyes must have been wide in amazement. People must have gasped. After all they had seen this woman bent over for 18 years. She was now standing straight.
Lord thank You for Your healing touch. You touched this woman and she was healed.
Thank You for Your healing touch in our lives today too.
Thank You for the many gifts of healing You use today.
Thank You that new insights are gained each day in the medical field.
Thank You for those that are given the gift of healing be it emotional healing, physical healing or spiritual healing.
Thank You that this woman praised You for her healing.
Lord we praise and thank You for Your healing touch in our lives.
Thank You Lord.

And there was a woman who had had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years; she was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. Luke 13:10
Lord thank You for those that are not well and yet they struggle to get to their places of worship each time the doors are open and a service is available.
Thank You for showing us the strength within this woman that even though it was very difficult to gather with the others she was there.
Lord we know that she didn’t come in a car that would drop her off at the front of the church or park in the handicap space. She walked from wherever she lived in the village. We are not told how far that was but I am sure no matter where she came from it was not an easy journey.
Thank You for this lesson Lord that calls us all to thank You for our health and our modern conveniences.
Thank You for Your power within that gives us the strength to go on when life is not easy.
Thank You Lord.

And He (Jesus) told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Lo, these three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down; why should it use up the ground?’ And he answered him, ‘Let it alone, sir this year also, till I dig about it and put on manure. And if it bears fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.'” Luke 13:6 – 8
Lord it is so interesting that you never went on to explain what You meant by this parable. I, like those listening, could only give it our own interpretation. Are we right? Are we seeing what You wanted us to see? Perhaps each of us view this differently. I would speculate that since the multitude that was listening had not seen what would happen in Your life they didn’t understand it as I see it today.
Thank You Lord that when You left this earth You gave us Your Holy Spirit to instruct us.
Thank You that when we read Your word and seek Your answers our walk with You increases and we become closer to You.
Thank You for the joy in knowing You and learning new truths when we stop and listen.
Thank You for Your scripture today that tell me You are patient with us and continue to call us to Yourself.
All gifts of Your unconditional love Lord and I thank You.
Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “I tell you, NO; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” Luke 13:5
Lord once again You were saying to these people that unless they turned to You they would perish. You were showing them that life can be snuffed out in an instance and unless they were following You they would perish. You were offering them eternal life.
Thank You Lord for the privilege of following You.
Thank You for Your invitation that is open to us all.
Thank You that we are given the gift of life with You throughout all eternity.
Thank You for the peace that is our gift when we walk with You.
Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “Or those eighteen upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse offenders than all the other who dwelt in Jerusalem? Luke 13:4
Lord I am reminded of the scripture that tells us that You rain on the just and You rain on the unjust. That seems to be what You are saying here to these that are listening. And yet I am reminded that of the scripture that tells us that You see the sparrow fall and You know the numbers of the hairs on our head.
Thank You Lord that we don’t have to understand all the mysteries of life to follow You.
Thank You for giving us the knowledge we need each and every day when we ask.
Thank You for Your faithfulness and Your love.
We have it all when we look to You.
Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “I tell you, No; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3
Thank You Lord for reminding everyone that this life is not the end.
Thank You for telling everyone that our choices make a difference.
Thank You for giving us the gift of eternal life when we make the choice and choose You.
Thank You that we don’t have to walk the walk alone because You are always there holding us up and making us stronger.
What great gifts we have in You Lord.
Thank You Lord.

And He (Jesus) answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered thus?” (They were killed and their blood was mingled with the sacrifice.) Luke 13:2
Lord we are all here on this earth. We who are believers look to You and we trust in You. There are things that happen all around us that don’t make sense. You were trying to show this crowd that these that died were no worse or better then any of them. They were thinking of them as being far worse than they were and that is why they died.
Lord thank You for the gift of life.
Thank You for allowing us to live each day to the best of our abilities all the while knowing that our lives are in Your hands.
Thanks You for each moment.
Thank You for the privilege of trusting You.
Thank You Lord

There were some present at that very time who told Him (Jesus) of the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. Luke 13:1
Lord when I read of things like this in the scripture it tells me that people were the same in Your days on the earth as they are today.
Thank You for coming to change us from the inside out.
Thank You for loving us unconditionally.
Thank You for calling us all to be more like You.
Thank You for the joy of our salvation.
Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “As you go with your accuser before the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest he drag you to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer put you in prison. I tell you, you will never get out till you have paid the very last copper.” Luke 12:58, 59
Lord You were talking pretty straight forward to this multitude. You were trying to help them see with Your every day illustrations that they needed to turn from the way they were living their lives. There was a price to pay if they didn’t change.
Thank You Lord for the changes You make in our lives when we turn our lives over to You.
Thank You that You promised that our old ways would be gone and be replace with new ways.
Thank You that as we keep searching to know more and more about You we find out more and more.
Thank You for the beauty of having a life that is center in You and in Your control.
How can I ever thank You enough for all Your gifts to me.
Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “And why do you not judge for yourselves what is right?” Luke 12:57
Lord how easy we find it to be influenced by other. They sound so convincing. After all perhaps they have more knowledge than we do. They could be right.
Thank You Lord for Your guidance.
Thank You for never giving up on us.
Thank You for showing us the right way to walk.
Thank You that we can listen and know Your pathway.
Thank You for Your patience with us as we stumble along the way.
We are so thankful Lord that You care.
Thank You Lord.
