There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. John 1:6

Thank You Lord that each one of us is here at this time by Your design.

Thank You for John that was sent here and called by You to write this book.

Thank You for the insights it gives us into Your life.

Thank You for the things that we can learn about ourselves and how to follow You by reading it.

Thank You for my life today and the knowledge that I am no accident either. You chose this time for me to be here too. Oh what a gift to know that and rejoice in all that You have planned for me. Thank You!

Thank You Lord.

I will be out of the office for a few days and will not have computer access. I will be excited when I return to see what else the Lord wants to show me from the book of John. What a blessing for me to sit at His feet and learn. My love and prayers continue for You. While I am away dwell upon the thought that YOU were CHOSEN to be here on this earth TODAY by the Lord. Wow! What a thought huh! How can we ever praise Him enough. Thank You Lord. HE IS RISEN!!!! HAPPY EASTER!

The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5

Thank You Lord for showing us through John’s eyes how important Your light is to us.

Thank You that John used something so common for that day and yet it is so relevant for us today too.

Oh Lord how we that love and want to serve You want Your light to shine in and through us.

Thank You for the gift of Your light that is ours for the taking.

Thank You Lord.

In Him (God) was life and the life was the light of men. John 1:4

Thank You Lord for Your light.

Thank You that You never leave us or forsake us.

Thank You that Your light is like a beacon that draws us to You.

Thank You that peace, joy and contentment are our gifts when we follow Your light.

We are so blessed Lord! Thank You!

Thank You Lord.

He (Word) was in the beginning with God; all things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.
John 1:2, 3

Oh Lord how smart we think we are today in this computer age that is moving so rapidly. We think WE are just more intelligent today. WE think WE have the knowledge.

Thank You Lord for reminding us that YOU are the one that has made everything.

Thank You for showing us that without You we are and can be nothing.

Thank You for the hope You give us when we read this verse.

Thank You that You know everything and You give gifts at will.

Thank You that You ask us to ask and You supply.

Oh how blessed we are.

Thank You Lord.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

I want to start the book of John today. We have just finished the book of Luke and we will now see some of the same things that Luke wrote about through the eyes of John. Isn’t it wonderful how we can all have our own experiences and God works in and through our lives and shows us different facets that change us. Our blind eyes are opened and we see Him more clearly. This is a new journey for me too as I seek Him as I read each verse. This first verse I remember learning as a little child and it has never left me. How wonderful for me to reflect on those moments of my childhood when the Lord was working in my life at that early age. I was blessed to know God personally at the age of eight. What a great journey it has been to get to know Him better and better and learn to trust Him more and more. Oh to be like Him has always been my prayers and those of You that know me know that I still pray that prayer and have a long way to go. It is comforting to know that I can trust that He is with me and in His timing changes me.

Thank You Lord that You always were there.

Thank You that ‘in the beginning’ You were there.

Oh how blessed we are that You are our Lord and Savior.

Thank You Lord.

And they returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple blessing God. Luke 24:52, 53

Lord this is how Luke ends his book. What a joyful note to end it on. You were walking with these men and revealed Yourself to them. Then You left them BUT You left them full of joy. In fact they had so much joy that they were in the temple all the time blessing God.

Thank You Lord for Your touch.

Thank You that when we too meet You we are changed.

Thank You for the joy and peace that You alone can give.

Oh how blessed we are today Lord because of Your walk on this earth.

Thank You Lord.

While He (Jesus) blessed them, He parted from them. Luke 24:51

Lord I always wish there was more details. What did they think? How did it happen? Luke just says You parted from them.

Thank You Lord that even though we don’t have all the details we have faith.

Thank You for the insights that You give each one of us that truly listen to You.

Thank You for the joy You give us when we keep our eyes focused upon You.

Oh how wonderful to have You with us each moment of every day.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “And behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you; but stay in the city, until you are clothed with power from on high.” Luke 24:49

I was taken back to this verse to think about it again.

Lord how exciting for these men to hear these words from You. And yet I can’t help but wonder if they really knew the full impact. Did they wonder what you meant when you told them they would be ‘clothed with power from on high?’ How must they have felt?

Thank You Lord that we know what You were talking about because we have the account of what happened.

Thank You that You gave us all hope when You left this earth.

Thank You for the insight we have through the scriptures that were written about all that went on at this time.

Thank You for teaching us more and more about You as we walk with You.

Thank You Lord.

Then He (Jesus) led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up His hands He blessed them. Luke 24:50

Thank You Lord for this blessing.

Thank You Lord for blessing us.

Thank You for their joy in being with You.

Thank You for our joy when we sit at Your feet and listen.

Thank You for being with us today.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you; but stay in the city, until you are clothed with power from on high.” Luke 24:48, 49

Lord what an exciting time for these men. There they were in Your presence. You were telling them what to do. After all the events that had taken place I am sure they must have listened intently and wondered.

Thank You Lord for talking to us today.

Thank You that these words have been given to us to learn more about You.

Thank You that You are the same today as You were in the time we are reading about and the best part is You will remain the same tomorrow.

Oh how wonderful to sit at Your feet and listen and learn.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.
