Thought For Today

For He whom God has sent utters the words of God, for it is not by measure that He gives the Spirit; the Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. John 3:34

Lord thank You for coming to earth.

Thank You for Your plan of salvation for each one of us.

Thank You that You love us and Your love is unconditional.

Thank You for calling us to come…walk closer ….

Thank You Lord.

He (Jesus) bears witness to what He has seen and heard, yet no one receives His testimony, he who receives His testimony sets His seal to this, that God is true. John 3:32

Lord thank You for John’s wisdom.

Thank You for giving him the thoughts and enabling him to pen the words that would show us who You are.

Thank You that John knew You and he loved You with his whole heart.

Thank You for giving us the same opportunity You gave John.

Oh how blessed we are Lord.

Thank You Lord.

(John said to the Jew and his disciples) “He must increase but I must decrease.” John 3:30

Thank You Lord for John and his example.

Thank You that he was so selfless.

Thank You that he could give up his own glory for Your glory.

Thank You that he was obedient to his calling.

Thank You for showing us that we can be like him. We can be selfless too and point others to You. Not easy Lord and I thank You for Your faithfulness in helping us.

Oh to be like You Lord in all we do or say.

Thank You for helping us.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

(John continued talking to the Jew and his disciple) “He who has the bride is the bridegroom; the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice; therefore this joy of mine is now full.” John 3:29

Thank You Lord for the great example John was to all of us.

Thank You that he gives us an example of how much he was following You.

Thank You that he shows us how to be happy when others are succeeding.

Thank You that he knew his calling and was willing to follow it no matter what the cost was.

Thank You for giving us that same ability Lord.

Thank You for helping us.

Thank You Lord.

(John continued talking with the Jew and his disciple) “You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before Him.” John 3:28

Thank You Lord that John only wanted to please You.

Thank You that he knew his calling and stood firm on all he did and said.

Thank You that he was so selfless that he could point everyone to You.

Oh to be like that Lord. Oh to be so full of Your love that others would only see You in us.

Thank You for the hope You give us as we walk and talk with You.

John answered, (the Jew and his disciple) “No one can receive anything except what is given him from heaven.” John 3:27

Thank You Lord for all Your gifts to us.

Thank You for caring enough to come to earth.

Thank You that You know the beginning of our lives and You know the end of our lives.

Thank You that we can trust You to give us Your best.

Thank You Lord.

And they (a Jew and John’s disciple) came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you bore witness, here He is, baptizing, and all are going to Him.” John 3:26

Lord it is so interesting how often we are bothered by others that we think are more popular than we are. This feeling of being less than goes way back in time as is evidenced by this verse.

Thank You Lord that when things like this bother us You are there to listen to us.

Thank You that when we follow You and Your calling on our lives we have the self-confidence we need.

Thank You for helping us see others in a whole different light when Your light shines within us.

Thank You that John knew his calling and he knew who You were and why You were here.

Thank You for changing us from the inside out and helping us rejoice with others that succeed even when it is more than we do.

Thank You Lord.

Now a discussion arose between John’s disciples and a Jew over purifying. John 3:25

Lord it seems there are always those that are full of questions.

Thank You Lord for helping us when we are questioned.

Thank You that we don’t have to have all the answers and we can admit often times that we don’t have all the answers.

Thank You for teaching us even in those times more and more about You.

Thank You for always being there when we cry out for help.

Thank You Lord.

For John had not yet been put in prison. John 3:24

Thank You that John was willing to pay a price for following You.

Thank You for those that were his disciples and knew the truth about You.

Thank You for giving us the power to follow You and complete the tasks You send our way.

John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there; and people came and were baptized. John 3:23

Lord this is an interesting verse that tells us what happened in John’s life.

Thank You that John continued his work for You even while You were on earth baptizing too.

Thank You that even though he had disciples of his own he always pointed them to You.

Thank You that we too as Your disciples we can point others to You.

Thank You Lord.
