They (the people) went out of the city and were coming to Him (Jesus). John 4:30

Lord, John shows us Your life. You talked with the Samaritan woman at the well. You ask the woman to give You a drink and she does. Then You tell her all about her life. She knows You don’t know her and have no way of knowing all that You are saying about her. She went into town and told everyone about You and ask them to come and see You.

Thank You Lord for allowing us to bring others to meet You.

Thank You for loving us all with Your unconditional love.

Thank You for always being there for us.

Thank You Lord.

So the woman left her water jar, and went away into the city and said to the people, “Come and see a man that told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?” Luke 4:27, 28

Lord I could feel the excitement as I read. She had to tell someone about her experience. She went to the city. There she found her audience. How excited she must have been as she told them all about this person she met at the well.

Thank You Lord that we don’t have to understand everything that happens in life we just have to have the faith to believe and trust.

Thank You that as we cry out to You, You are there.

Thank You for Your unconditional love that calls us all on to become more and more like You.

Thank You Lord.

Just then His (Jesus) disciples came. They marveled that He was talking with a woman, but some said, “What do you wish?” or “Why are You talking with her.” Luke 4:27

Thank You Lord for loving us all equally.

Thank You that You give each of us the knowledge to come to You.

Thank You for the joy You bring when we follow You.

Thank You Lord.

Jesus said to her, (woman at the well) “I who speak to you am He.” (the Messiah) John 4:26

Lord I wonder what I would have thought had I been in her shoes. You had told her all about her life. She knew You were not some ordinary person. Now you were telling her You were the Messiah that she had been waiting for. What must have been going through her mind. Certainly she must have thought it could be true because of Your talk with her before You told her who You were.

Lord, thank You for removing all our doubts about who You truly are.

Thank You for showing us by Your Spirit who You are.

Thank You for scripture that tells us more and more as we read about You.

Oh how blessed and fortunate we are. Our eyes have been opened.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “God is spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24

Thank You Lord that we are asked and allowed to worship You.

Thank You for telling this woman at the well all about You.

Thank You that Your spirit dwells within us.

Oh how blessed we are Lord because we have You.

Thank You Lord.

The woman (at the well) said to Him, (Jesus) “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when He comes, He will show us all things.” John 4:25

Oh how blessed we are on earth today because we can read Your history on earth Lord.

Here was this woman that knew all about the promised Messiah. She was waiting for the Messiah to come to earth. She also knew that that Messiah would teach everyone what they needed to know.

Thank You Lord that You came to earth.

Thank You for the peace that You alone can give.

Thank You for being with us each moment of every day.

Thank You! Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued talking with the woman at the well) “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for such the Father seeks to worship him.” John 4:23

Lord there is an awful lot that we don’t understand. There is a lot here that I don’t understand.

Thank You that I don’t have to understand every thing I just have to follow You and obey.

Thank You for knowing all about me and continuing to call me to Yourself.

Thank You for Your love and compassion.

Thank You Lord.

Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. John 4:21, 22

Lord what must the woman at the well been thinking when You made this comment.

Was she hurt that You told her that she was worshiping what she did not know.

Thank You for knowing our hearts Lord and our thought and motives.

Thank You for looking at us that want to follow You and helping us.

Thank You that we can cry out to You any time and You are there.

You were there for this woman on earth just as You are there for us today.

What a wonderful gift to know that we have You.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

(The woman at the well continued) “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain; and You say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.” John 4:20

Lord how great it would be to ask You questions face to face when You were here on earth. This woman had the opportunity to ask what You meant. She asked for answers.

Thank You Lord that You are always there to listen to us.

Thank You that You always give us answers. It may be to wait patiently but You always give us Your answer.

Thank You for loving us just as we are.

Better yet Lord thank You that You change us in Your image when we surrender our lives to You.

Oh how blessed we are because of You Lord.

Thank You Lord.

Jesus said to her, (woman at the well) “Go call your husband, and come here.” The woman answered Him, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You are right in saying, ‘I have no husband’ for you have had five husbands, and he whom you now have is not your husband; this you said truly.” The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.” John 4:16 – 19

Lord this woman gave You her undivided attention. First You offered her living water and now You are telling her all about her life.

Thank You Lord for faith to believe.

Thank You for caring about us and calling us to come follow You.

Thank You for knowing all about us.

Thank You for the joy in getting to know You better and better.

Thank You Lord.
