Thought For Today

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Thank You Lord that we can trust these words ….’ No temptation has overtaken you, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape.’ Lord temptations can come to us in all manners and forms. I’m sure there is not one person reading these words that has not been tempted at some time in their lives. As little children we were tempted to take the cookie mom said we couldn’t have until after we ate. Today we might say to ourselves well that was nothing BUT it WAS something because our training began way back then. As children You were teaching us to NOT yield to the temptations because You knew how much greater the temptation would be the older we got. Thank You Lord that You DO make a way of escape and we do not need to fall into the trap that is being set before us. We love You Lord and thank You for this promise that is a rock we can always stand on. YOU are ALWAYS there with Your strength and Your wisdom. Oh how we thank You!

For ours is not a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who was in every respect tempted as we are, yet without committing sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with assurance, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in times of need. Hebrews 4:15, 16

Oh Lord how we thank You for Your mercy and grace. Thank You too that You are only a prayer away. Thank You for understand our weaknesses and not only understand them, it is You that help us overcome them. Today Lord we can often look back and see You guiding and directing us to wholeness. Looking at all You have already done gives us Your strength to know that You will help us each time we call upon You. Thank You for the assurance that You will always be there with Your unconditional love to guide us. We are never alone. You are ALWAYS with us. Oh how we thank and praise You for walking with us today and changing us moment by moment into Your likeness.

Oh how we thank You Lord for coming to earth to redeem us Thank You for showing us how to live for You. You gave Your life for us and oh how grateful we are for each and every day we are here on this beautiful earth serving You. Our lives are changed because You were willing to die for us. Thank You!!!! As we walk with You each day our hearts are full of gratitude for our many gifts and blessings. We are never without You unconditional love as we grow and change into Your likeness. We love You Lord and want to be our best for You. Thank You for helping us overcome our weaknesses and temptations. Thank You for being our rock. Thank You for answering our prayers.

Oh Lord how we thank You today for Your goodness to us. It doesn’t take us but a moment to realize all the gifts You have given us. So often we don’t take the time to thank and praise You for them. I know that is very true even yet in my own life and that is why You ask me to sit down and think of what You have given me to be thankful for today. The first time I can remember You calling me to be thankful was when I was going through a difficult time in my life while living in Hong Kong. Even in those difficult times You were calling me to see all that You had provided.

Oh how refreshing to look at what You are providing rather than what we WANT. Thank You Lord for continuing after all those years to show me once again today why it is so important to count my blessings. Your promise today is true….’those who seek the Lord shall lack in nothing good.’ Oh how I praise and thank You for knowing all about me and giving me nothing but YOUR good in my life.

Thank You Lord for the changes You make in our lives as we look to You. Thank You for Your ‘spotlight’ that seems to shine on us to point out the things You want us to change. As we spend time with You in prayer it is amazing how much we learn from You. Thank You for not only teaching us …..You also help us with what You are teaching us. Thank You for being our rock. Oh to be like You Lord that is our goal. Thank You for accomplishing that in our lives today. Thank You for renewing a steadfast spirit within me.

Thank You Lord for the many promises that You have given us to use as we walk through our lives. Thank You that as a child of 8 I began learning the thing You wanted to teach me. But as scripture tells me when I was a child I learned as a child and my learning hasn’t stopped and never will until I go to meet You. Thank You for being with me and helping me through each of the lessons I needed to learn. Certainly You knew they were not going to be easy and that is why You gave us the scriptures about trusting You and obeying You. Our faith in You helps us through each lesson. Thank You Lord for Your peace and joy today.

Thank You Lord for our days here on earth as we prepare to be in heaven with You declaring Your glory. Thank You for Your strength, wisdom and joy today. Each are Your gifts to us to use for Your honor and Your glory. Thank You for using us today to show others Your love and compassion. Oh to be like You Lord and grow in Your love and compassion. Thank You for helping us to show others Your love today as we go about our day rejoicing in all our blessings.

The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. Matthew 6:22

Thank You Lord for both physical eyesight and spiritual eyesight. We need both and yet there are many that are not as fortunate as I am. Thank You that I have both physical and spiritual eyes Lord and that certainly is enough to always thank You for every day. You truly have given us much to thank You for as our eyes see the beauty and tranquility of the earth. For each of us there is something on this beautiful earth that calms our souls and gives us a peace within…a peace that in there in the midst of the storms of life that draws us closer to You. How blessed we are to have those free gifts just by looking around us or hearing the sounds of waves crashing or birds singing. I remember singing the chorus as a child and it was etched in my brain forever. ‘Oh be careful little eyes what you see ….for the Father up above is looking down in LOVE so be careful little eyes what you see.’ Great advice Lord as I to go through today with You walking with me giving me joy in my heart as I quietly sing that song in praise to YOU. Thank YOU Lord for watching me today. I love You!

Lord I continue to thank You for FAITH, HOPE and LOVE. Thank You for giving us the confidence in You as we trust You each day. As I lay my head on my pillow each night I thank and praise You for Your help and guidance throughout my day. Stepping back to look at my day I see so many times when YOU were there and I missed seeing YOU when the events were happening. It is then I thank You and wonder how many other times I have missed seeing all YOU were blessing me with. Yes Lord, we are truly blessed because our trust is in You and we thank You for those many, many blessings.

Lord today I want to thank You for not only LOVE that is the greatest but I want to also thank You for FAITH and HOPE. I always want to thank You for both of them as they are vital in my own life. What a wonderful gift it is to HOPE and see those HOPES come to pass as You continually work in my life. Along with the HOPE comes FAITH. FAITH to believe that You are always working for me because of You unconditional love for me. Oh how blessed I feel each day. Thank You for causing my faith to grow as I continue to look to You with trust. As the song of old say…’Trust and Obey for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey’ … how true that is Lord. Our FAITH increases as we continue to trust There is so much to praise and thank YOU for Lord. Thank You for Your peace and joy that are always there for me to relax and enjoy. Thank You for the smile You put on my face each day as we walk through each day together. I love You Lord and thank You for being my strength today.
