One of His (Jesus) disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what are they among so many?” John 6:8, 9
Lord, Andrew was making conversation never dreaming what was going to take place. I have always loved this story. I loved hearing it as a little child and I have loved telling the story to children. It is an exciting story that builds our faith in You Lord. Thank You for John’s account.
Thank You for coming to earth for us.
Thank You for the miracles those alive could see with their own eyes.
Thank You for the joy these stories bring to all as children and into our adult lives.
Thank You Lord.

Philip answered Him, (Jesus) “Two hundred denari would not buy enough bread for each of them (crowd) to get a little.” John 6:7
Lord our faith is so small when we see things with our natural eyes. Philip was looking at the great crowd that had gathered to listen to You and knew there was no way of feeding them. Why would You even ask him such a question. It was impossible. And why would you want to feed them anyway. That was their problem. If they chose to listen to You without eating so be it.
Thank You Lord that You see with Your eyes and not our eyes.
Thank You for miracles like the one we will read about as we continue.
Thank You for loving us and caring about our physical needs also.
Oh how blessed we are because of You Lord.
Thank You Lord.

Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand. Lifting up His (Jesus) eyes, then, and seeing that a multitude was coming to Him, Jesus said to Philip, “How are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?” This He said to test him for He Himself knew what He would do. John 6:4 – 6
Lord life is full of interesting things that happen to us. Philip was with You and a crowd was gathering that wanted to hear You. It was the Passover and it was not possible to get food. You had a plan. You always have a plan.
Thank You Lord that Your ways are perfect.
Thank You that we never have to wonder if You are doing the right thing.
Thank You for faith to believe and to believe is to trust.
Thank You for helping us each moment of every day.
Thank You Lord.

After this Jesus went to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias. And a multitude followed Him because they saw the signs which He did on those who were diseased. John 6:1, 2
Lord thank You for the multitudes that were curious. For it is often curiosity that shows us things that we never would have known.
Thank You for Your healing touch.
Thank You for the comfort You bring in the midst of storm in our lives.
Thank You that we can trust You.
Oh how blessed we are because You came to earth.
Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “But if you do not believe his (Moses) writings, how will you believe My words?” John 5:47
Believe….Lord that seems to be the catch word today. We see it in all kinds of advertisements. We see it in plaques that hang on the wall. Believe…. Oh how blessed we are that today we ‘believe’ that You are the Son of God that came to earth for our redemption. I believe…. Thank You for coming to earth for me. Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “If you (Jews) believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote of Me.” John 5:46
Thank You Lord for giving us eyes to see and ears to hear what You have to say to us.
Thank You that we not only hear and see but we also believe.
Moses believed and we believe.
Thank You that Your presence in our lives call us on.
Oh how blessed we are.
Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “How can you (Jews) believe, who receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God.” John 5:44
Lord it is so easy to find fault with others and we might wonder why these men did not believe in You. After all You were doing miracles right in front of their eyes. They still didn’t want You to heal anyone on the Sabbath day.
Once again Lord I have to thank You for Your example.
Thank You for always doing what Your Father was asking You to do.
It is the only way we can have peace and joy in our lives.
Thank You for helping us as we strive to live for You.
Thank You Lord.
