Thought For Today

(Jesus continued) “I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and they died. This is the bread which comes down from heaven that a man may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh.” John 6:48 – 51

Thank You Lord for coming to earth to redeem us all.

Thank You for eternal life.

Thank You for the joy of loving and serving You.

Oh how grateful we are because You came.

Thank You Lord.

Thank You Lord for giving us eternal life.

Thank You for extending that gift to all who believe.

Oh how grateful we are Lord to have Your love – Your unconditional love.

(Jesus continued) “It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught of God.’ Every one who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. Not that anyone has seen the Father except Him who is from God; He has seen the Father. John 6:45, 46

Thank You Lord for giving each one of us a God consciousness.

Thank You for calling us all to You.

Thank You for Your peace and joy.

Oh how blessed we are to be the children of God.

Jesus answered them, “Do not murmur among yourselves. No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:43, 44

Thank You Lord for calling each one of us to come and follow You.

Thank You for asking us to come exactly as we are.

Thank You for Your unconditional love.

The Jews then murmured at Him, (Jesus) because He said, “I am the bread which came down from heaven.” They said, “Is not this Jesus, the Son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” John 6:41, 42

Lord it is not hard to understand why You would be questioned. They knew You as the Son of Mary and Joseph. Who did You think You were anyway saying that You had come down from heaven. They didn’t believe You. And yet they were curious because of all the miracles they saw You doing. They wondered where Your power was coming from.

Thank You Lord for showing us who You are.

Thank You for asking us to come follow You.

Thank You for accepting us just as we are.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “For this is the will of My Father, that every one that sees the Son and believes in Him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:40

Thank You Lord for Your great promises.

Thank You for the promise of eternal life.

Thank You for Your promise to raise us up at the last day.

Thank You for Your promises that give us direction and hope.

Oh how blessed we are because of You.

(Jesus continued) “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me; and this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I should lose nothing of all that is given to Me, but raise it up in the last day.” John 6:38, 39

Lord what beautiful verses for those of us that believe in You and have given our lives to You.

Thank You first of all for coming down to earth.

Thank You also for doing the will of Your Father.

Thank You for Your example.

(Jesus continued) “But I say to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe.” John 6:36

Lord it is easy for me to see why these people didn’t believe. They were still trying to figure You out. Who were You? Why did You have so many talents? There are so many today that don’t believe. Today we know the end of Your story. We know who You are and why You came. You came for us to die for our sin so we could have eternal life with You.

How can we ever thank You enough Lord. Thank You. Thank You Lord.

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” John 6:25

Lord what must these that were following You and listening to You been thinking when they heard these words. Were they thinking about the feeding of the 5,000 that had just happened. Were they thinking if they followed You they would have all the food and drinks they wanted? You were talking about spiritual food and drink. You were trying to tell them that if they followed You they would have their inner hunger satisfied. You would be all they needed and their joy would surpass anything else in life.

Oh Lord – thank You – we are so blessed to have this as our gift for coming to You.
