Thought For Today

Now the Jews feast of the Tabernacle was at hand. So His brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go to Judea, that Your disciples may see the works You are doing.” John 7:2, 3

Lord You were not going to Judea because the Jews sought to kill You there. Now Your brothers were encouraging You to go to Judea so Your good works would be seen.

Thank You Lord for wisdom.

Thank You for showing us what to do when we ask for Your guidance.

How blessed we are to be able to call on You at any time of the day or night.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

After this Jesus went about in Galilee; He would not go about in Judea because the Jews sought to kill Him. John 7:1

Thank You Lord for wisdom and insight.

Thank You for not going where they were going to kill You.

Thank You for leading us away from the places that are going to destroy us from within.

Thank You for being our guiding light.

Oh how brightly we shine when we walk close to with You.

Jesus answered them (the disciples), “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?” He spoke of Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the twelve, was to betray Him.
John 6:70, 71

Oh how blessed we are Lord that you have chosen us. Thank You.

Thank You for forgiving us for all the things we have done that have not please You.

Thank You for Your unconditional love.

How can we ever praise and thank You enough for all we have in You.

Jesus said to the twelve (disciples), “Will you also go away.” Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that You are the Holy one of God.” John 6:67 – 69

Thank You Lord for Simon Peter’s love for You.

Thank You for hearing our cries and knowing that we feel exactly like Simon Peter.

Thank You for being our rock and fortress.

Oh how blessed we are to have You in control of our lives.

After this many of His (Jesus) disciples drew back and no longer went about with Him. John 6:66

Lord I find it so interesting that when people don’t hear what they want to hear they leave You. These men were following You but when You talked about Your Father they left You. It reminds me of how we hear about wealthy people having all kinds of friends until they have no money.

Thank You Lord for those of us that have heard Your call and are still following You.

Thank You that even when things happen in our lives that we don’t like and we don’t understand we continue to trust and look to You for direction.

Thank You for teaching us and loving us unconditionally.

Thank You Lord.

But Jesus, knowing in Himself that His disciples murmured at it, said to them, “Do you take offense at this? Then what if you were to see the Son of man ascending where He was before? It is the spirit that give life, the flesh is of no avail; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you that do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the first who those were that did not believe and who it was that should betray him. And He said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.” John 6:61 – 65

Thank You Lord for knowing us and knowing all about us.

Thank You for welcoming us with open arms when we turn to You.

Thank You for Your unconditional love.

Many of His (Jesus) disciples, when they heard it, said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?” John 6:30

Lord there is so much we don’t understand. The disciples didn’t understand what you were talking about when You said You were the bread of life. Eventually as time went on they understand a whole lot more. It took time for them to see the whole picture.

Thank You Lord for Your patience and understanding with us when we too don’t understand.

Thank You for helping us walk in faith until the vision is clear.

Oh how we need You Lord and thank You for ALWAYS being with us.

(Jesus continued) “For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever.” John 6:55 – 58

Thank You Lord for giving eternal life to those who believe.

So Jesus said to them, (Jews) “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink His blood, you have no life in you; he who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:53, 54

Thank You Lord for giving us Your body and blood so that we can live with You for all eternity.

Thank You for paying the price for us to have eternal life.

How can I ever thank You enough Lord because of Your gift to me.

The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?” John 6:52

Lord it was a bit hard for these men to understand how You could talk about giving them eternal life. There are those that are still debating it today. There are many that cannot see and understand what You were telling them so long ago. But… for us that know and believe it has changed our lives. We are not who we were before we gave our lives to You. Oh how wonderful for us that You came to earth.
