Then He (Jesus) stooped down again and wrote some more in the dust. And the Jewish leaders slipped away one by one, beginning with the eldest, until only Jesus was left in front of the crowd and the woman. John 8:8, 9

Lord You truly understand us. Here was a woman that was accused of committing adultery. The Jewish leaders were trying to trip You up and have You say something that would go against what the law said. Now You tell them that whoever is without fault to throw the first stone and all have left.

Lord I am so glad You see our hearts and know our thoughts. We are so often misunderstood.

How comforting Lord to know that You are always with us.

Thank You for always being with us in the midst of the storms in our lives.

Oh how blessed we are. Thank You!

Thank You Lord.

They (Pharisees) kept demanding an answer, so He (Jesus) stood up again and said, “All right, hurl the stones at her (adulteress woman) until she dies. But only he who never sinned may throw the first!”
John 8:7

Thank You Lord for Your unconditional love.

Thank You for forgiveness.

Thank You for Your love.

Thank You Lord.

As He (Jesus) was speaking, the Jewish leaders and Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery and placed her out in front of the staring crowd. “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, ‘this woman was caught in the very act of adultery. Moses’ law says to kill her. What about it?” They were trying to trap Him into saying something they could use against Him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with His finger. John 8:3 – 6

Lord You were constantly under scrutiny. The Pharisees were always trying to find something that You did that was against the law. They were always watching.

Thank You Lord that we know we can always go to You in prayer no matter what happens in our lives.

Thank You for ALWAYS being there.

Oh how blessed we are Lord to know You love us unconditionally.

Thank You Lord.

Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives but early the next morning He was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered and He sat down and talked to them. John 8:1, 2

Lord as we read the scriptures and follow Your life we learn about Your mission in life from the age of 30 to 33. You were here because You wanted others to know You. You reminded them so often that You were about Your Father’s business.

Thank You Lord for Your example to each one of us. Oh yes, we are all different. You have called each of us to ‘come follow You’ and allowed us to shine for You in our own individual way.

Thank You for guiding and directing us.

Thank You for giving us Your peace that passes all human understanding.

Oh how blessed we are.

Thank You Lord.

Nicodemus, who had gone to Him (Jesus) before and who was one of them, (the officers) said to them, “Does our law judge a man without first giving him a hearing and learning what he does?” They replied, “Are you from Galilee too? Search and you will see that no prophet is to rise from Galilee.” John 7:50 – 52

Lord it seems the people that are not in agreement with the officers are the ones that have been around You. How true it is that once someone encounters You they are never the same. Oh, they may not believe in You but they can never ignore the encounter. You continue to work in their lives to show them who You are.

Lord how wonderful to know that You care enough about us to draw us to Yourself. Thank You.

Thank You for the joy of knowing and serving You.

Thank You too that as we look to You day after day we get to know You better and better.

We are blessed Lord. I love You.

Thank You Lord.

The Pharisees answered them (officers), “Are you led astray, you also? Have any of the authorities or of the Pharisees believed in Him (Jesus)? But this crowd, who do not know the law, are accursed.”
John 7:47 – 49

Lord there was so much division about You. There were very few that really knew who You were. Those that knew were positive and the others were listening to the crowd and wondering.

Thank You Lord that we don’t have to wonder who You are.

Thank You that we don’t have to listen to others in order to truly trust You.

Thank You for contentment for it definitely comes from You.

Oh how blessed we are today because You came to earth.

Thank You Lord.

The officers then went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, “Why did you not bring Him?” The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this Man!” John 7:45, 46

Lord I am a bit overwhelmed when I read this scripture. “No man ever spoke like this Man” ….. How fortunate they were to have been in Your presence to hear Your words.

Thank You Lord for John and his words that are so encouraging.

“No man ever spoke like this Man.” How that touches our hearts Lord because it is so true yet today. Thank You for speaking to our hearts and changing our lives.

Oh how blessed we are because You came to give us eternal life.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

(The people continued) “Has not the scripture said that the Christ is descended from David and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David was?” So there was a division among the people over Him (Jesus). Some of them wanted to arrest Him but no one laid hands on Him. John 7:42 – 44

Lord we are no different today and we have seen Your story unfold. We can read the scripture and find out what happened and why it happened. We are so fortunate.

Thank You Lord for coming to earth for us.

Thank You for Your great provisions.

Thank You for leaving us the Holy Spirit.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

When they (crowd) heard these (Jesus) words, some of the people said, “This is really the prophet.” Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “Is the Christ to come from Galilee?” John 7:42, 43

Lord I am so glad I was born now so I know the rest of the story. I don’t have to wonder if You are really the Christ. I know You are.

Thank You Lord for showing us who You are.

Thank You that we can know You better and better as we read the Bible.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

Now this He (Jesus) said about the Spirit, which those who believed in Him were to receive; for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. John 7:39

Lord how grateful we are that when You left this earth You gave us Your Holy Spirit.

Thank You for Your love and provisions for us.

Thank You that You quiet our hearts and turn them to You.

How can we ever thank You enough Lord. Thank You.

Thank You Lord.
