Lord when we keep our thoughts upon You how different our lives are. When we try and emulate You our lives are changed.
Thank You for showing us a better way to live.
Lord it is not always easy to walk in Your steps. Thank You for Your help.
Thank You for being our guide.

(Jesus continued) “I know that you are descendants of Abraham; yet you seek to kill me, because my word finds no place in you.”
John 8:37
Oh Lord You love us so very, very much. You came to earth to pay the price for our sin. You were telling these Jewish men that You knew all about them and yet they turned away from You and still did not believe in You.
Thank You Lord for Easter.
Thank You for dying on the cross for my sin.
Thank You for the gentle nudges that come each day giving me the desire to draw closer to You.
Oh to know You better Lord and draw closer to You.
Thank You for Your patience with me Lord.

Jesus answered them, (Jews) “Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.” John 8:35
Lord once again these men did not understand what You were trying to say to them. They felt like they were free already. After all they were descendants of Abraham. You kept trying to show them who they were but they didn’t want to listen.
Thank You Lord for showing us our sin.
Thank You for the ability to ask forgiveness.
Thank You for loving us.
Oh how blessed we are.

They (Jews) answered Him, (Jesus) “We are descendants of Abraham and have never been in bondage to anyone. How is it that You say, ‘You will be made free’?” John 8:32
Lord it is so obvious that these men didn’t have a clue what You were talking about. Perhaps we can give them the benefit of the doubt and think they were really trying to figure out what You meant but in reality they didn’t want to understand. Those that wanted to understand understood very well and turned to You and followed You.
Thank You Lord for opening our eyes of understanding when we become Your follower.
Thank You for helping us see beyond what we can discern with our natural mind.
What a gift! What a blessing.

Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. John 8:31, 32
Thank You Lord that we have Your word to continue in it.
Thank You that we know the truth.
Thank You that we are free! What a gift that is Lord. We are free to love and worship You.

As He (Jesus) spoke thus, many believed in Him. John 8:30
Lord You told all those that were listening to You that You were about Your Father’s business. You were selfless and let the light shine upon Your Father. We have so much to learn from You Lord. Oh to be more and more like You.
Thank You Lord that You are so patient with us.
Thank You for gently wooing us back to Yourself when we try and walk in our own strength and wisdom.
Thank You for Your love that is oh so unconditional …….how can we ever thank You enough.

So Jesus said, “When you (Jews) have lifted up the Son of man, then you will know that I am He and that I do nothing on My own authority but speak thus as the Father taught Me. And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do what is pleasing to Him.” John 8:28, 29

They (Jews) did not understand that He (Jesus) spoke to them of the Father. John 8:27
Lord there were those that wanted to trick You. Of course they did not understand because they didn’t want to understand. All they could focus on was getting rid of You.
Lord how wonderful that we that follow You have been given ears to hear and understand. Thank You.

They (Jews) said to Him, (Jesus) “Who are You?” Jesus said to them, “Even what I have told you from the beginning. I have much to say about you and much to judge; but He who sent Me is true, and I declare to the world that I have heard from Him.” John 8:25, 26
Lord, it is so hard when someone doesn’t believe you. These men did not believe You at all. They kept picking and picking at everything You were doing to try and prove You were not who You said You were. They would not believe.
Thank You Lord for knowing how we feel when there are those that try and discredit us.
Thank You for the comfort that You alone can bring when we are not believed or trusted.
Thank You for being our rock and shield.
Thank You that YOU know our hearts and motives.
Oh Lord You are our all.
