Jesus said to her, (Martha) “I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in Me, though he died, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in Me, shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:24, 25

Thank You Lord that You give us eternal life.

Thank You that it is given freely because You paid the price for us.

Thank You that it is ours for the taking.

Oh how fortunate we are Lord.

Thank You Lord.

Martha said to Him, (Jesus) “I know that he (her brother Lazarus) will rise again in the resurrection of the last day.” John 11:24

Martha went to meet You Lord when You were coming to see her brother. You told her that Lazarus would rise again. This was what she thought You meant…..in the resurrection he would be raised just as all believers would rise.

Thank You Lord that You are the God of things seems impossible for us.

Thank You that we can trust You with everything about us.

We are truly blessed and kept.

Thank You….Thank You Lord.

Jesus said to her, (Martha) “Your brother will rise again.” John 11:23

Lord what must Martha have thought knowing that her brother had been dead for four days. You were telling her that he would rise again. It made no sense.

Lord there are so many things in our lives that really don’t make sense but You see the total picture and it ALL does make sense in the end.

Thank You Lord that You know all and therefore call us all to trust.

Thank You for helping us trust Lord because so often we can’t do that in our own strength.

Thank You for Your power and Your unconditional love.

We can do all things because You give us Your help.

Thank You Lord.

Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. And even now I know that whatever You ask from God, God will give You.” John 11:21, 22

Thank You Lord for Martha’s faith and confidence in You.

Thank You that she knew You and knew what You were capable of.

Thank You that we too can know You.

Oh how blessed we are because of You Lord.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met Him, while Mary sat in the house. John 11:20

Thank You for Martha’s love for You. She went out to meet You.

Thank You Lord for being there to meet us when we call out to You.

Thank You that we never have to wonder if You will hear us because You are always there.

How blessed we are Lord because You are our Lord and Savior.

Thank You Lord.

Now when Jesus came, He found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days. John 11:17

Lord now we are seeing the rest of the story. You had been asked by Mary and Martha to come because their brother Lazarus was sick. You didn’t come right away and now just as You had told Your disciples – Lazarus is dead. In fact he has been dead for four days.

Lord it is scriptures like this that help us understand how far from our way of doing things Your ways are. Once again we have to thank You for knowing all things. We thank You for caring about us and taking care of us. We may not always understand Your ways but we know You are guiding and directing us every step of the way.

Thank You for Your direction in our live.

Thank You Lord.

Thomas, call the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.” John 11:16

Lord I am not quite sure what Thomas meant. Was he referring to Your statement about it bringing glory to Your name because they would witness what You could do. Whatever he meant one thing is clear that he wanted to be with You and witness what You were going to do.

Thank You Lord for faith to believe and trust.

Lord, we have it all because we are Your children.

Thank You Lord

Then Jesus told them (disciples) plainly, “Lazarus is dead; and for your sake I am glad that I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.” John 11:14, 15

Thank You Lord that nothing surprises You about our lives.

Thank You for always knowing what is best for us.

You are always with us giving us Your unconditional love.

Thank You Lord.

The disciples said to Him, (Jesus) “Lord, if he (Lazarus) has fallen asleep, he will recover.” Now Jesus had spoken of his death but they thought that he meant taking rest in sleep. John 11:12, 13

Lord once again we read Your story and wonder why You waited so long to go to see Lazarus. You found out he was sick long before this and yet You for some reason waited until he was dead. Lord this story could be ours. We too wonder why You wait so long at times to bring healing and comfort.

Thank You Lord that even though we often don’t have answers You help us keep trusting You.

Thank You for the peace You bring even in the midst of the storms of life.

We are Yours and You are ours.

Thank You Lord.

Thus He (Jesus) spoke, and then He said to them, (His disciples) “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep but I go to awake him out of sleep.” John 11:11

Lord You hadn’t forgotten Lazarus. Everything was in Your timing.

Thank You Lord that we can always count on You.

Thank You for never forgetting us.

Thank You for always hearing when we cry out to You.

You know and You care.

Thank You Lord.
