Thought For Today

Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end. John 13:1

Thank You Lord for loving those to the end that were on earth with You.

Thank You for helping us endure the pain when we lose those we love.

Thank You for giving us the ‘comforter’ when You left this earth.

We are not alone Lord. Thank You for always being with us.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “He who rejects Me and does not receive my sayings has a judge; the word that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day. For I have not spoken on my own authority; the Father who sent me has Himself gave me commandment what to say and what to speak. And I know that His commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has bidden me.” John 12:48 – 50

Oh to be like You Lord. That is our goal and commitment. Oh to always do the will of the Father. Oh to listen and obey. What peace following You brings to our souls.

Thank You for always being with us.

Thank You for Your wisdom and power.

Thank You for Your unconditional love.

Oh what joy we find in serving You.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “If any one hears my sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.” Luke 12:47

Lord how grateful we all are that You came to earth. Thank You.

Thank You for coming to pay the price for our sin.

Thank You for the gift of eternal life and giving us the privilege of living with You forever and ever.

Oh how blessed we are because of You.

(Jesus continued) “I have come as light into the world, that whoever believes in Me may not remain in darkness.” John 12:46

Thank You Lord for being our light.

Thank You for guiding us every step of the way.

Thank You for ALWAYS being there ….. You NEVER leave us or forsake us.

How blessed we are because of You.

And Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent me. And He who sees Me sees Him who sent me.” John 12,44, 45

Thank You Lord for showing us who You are.

Thank You for giving us the wisdom to believe in You.

Humbly we bow to thank You for coming to earth for us.

Nevertheless many even of the authorities believed in Him, (Jesus) but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. John 12:42, 43

Pride…. ‘They loved the praise of men MORE than the praise of God.’ Lord how easy it is to fall into this trap. We must examine our lives and ask ourselves, ‘What is truly important in our lives.’ Where do we want You? Are we willing to give You our all. You call each of us and You wait patiently until we run the gamete and return to You.

Thank You Lord for Your patience.

Thank You for loving us unconditionally.

Thank You for calling us.

We are truly blessed.

Therefore they could not believe. For Isaiah again said, “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes and perceive with their heart, and turn for me to heal them.” Isaiah said this because he saw His glory and spoke of Him. John 12:39 – 41

Thank You Lord for knowing our thoughts and seeing our hearts.

Thank You for Your unconditional love.

Though He had done so many signs before them, yet they did not believe in Him; it was that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: “Lord, who has believed our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” John 12:37, 38

Lord so often You were questioned and rejected. You continued to be patient and try and show those around You why You were here and You were continually rejected.

Thank You Lord for knowing how we feel when we are rejected.

Thank You for always being there to help us when we cry out to You.

Thank You for Your unconditional love.

How blessed we are because of You Lord.

Jesus said to them, (the crowd) “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, lest the darkness overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light. When Jesus had said this, He departed and hid Himself from them. John 12:35, 36

Lord thank You for being our light.

Thank You for giving us the power to keep our eyes upon You.

Thank You for holding us in the palm of Your hand and keeping us safe.

The crowd answered Him, (Jesus) “We have heard from the law that the Christ remains for ever. How can You say that the Son of man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of man?” John 12:34

Lord it is interesting how the crowd continued to question You over and over about the same thing. They just could not understand. But then would we have been any different had we not known the rest of the story. I doubt it very much.

Thank You Lord for coming to earth for us.

Thank You too that You love each of us the same and call us all to come follow You.

Thank You for the peace that You alone can give.

Oh how grateful we are to have You as our Lord and Savior.
