(Jesus continued) “I am not speaking of you all; I know whom I have chosen; it is that the scripture might be fulfilled, ‘He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.’” John 13:18
Lord thank You for never giving up on us.
Thank You for choosing us.
Thank You for helping us stay close to You.
All that we are and all we have are because of You.
Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than He who sent Him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.”
John 13:16,17
How wonderful Lord that we can call on You for help and You are always there.
Thank You for allowing us to know You.
Oh how blessed we are to sit at Your feet and learn.
Thank You Lord.

When He (Jesus) had washed their feet, and taken his garments, and resumed His place, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to You.” John 13:12 -15
Lord with gratitude we say thank You for being such a great example.
Thank You for showing us how to serve. Washing the feet of Your disciples was considered a very humbling experience. After You washed their feet as an example of humility; You asked them to wash each other’s feet.
Thank You for giving us the power to do what You call us to do.
It is all about You Lord. Can we give our all for You…. Thank You for pulling through safely to the other side.
Thank You Lord.

Jesus said to him, (Simon Peter) “He who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but he is clean all over; and you are clean, but not all over.” For He knew who was to betray Him that was why He said, “You are not all clean”. John 13:10
Thank You Lord for coming to earth to die for us.
Thank You for knowing the hearts of those that were with You and loving them unconditionally in spite of how they were.
Thank You for the joy of serving You.
It is because of Your gift of Yourself that we have life today.
Thank You Lord.

Peter said to Him, (Jesus) “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part in me.” Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord not my feet only but also my hands and head.” John 13:8, 9
Lord, Peter was humbled because You wanted to wash his feet. When You told him it was the only way he could be a part of You that changed the picture immediately. He wanted to be a part of Your life. He wanted all You had to offer him.
Thank You Lord that You offer us the gift of eternal life.
Thank You that we can be just as close to You as we ourselves choose to be.
Thank You for being our friend and our Lord.
Oh how grateful we are that we have You in our lives.
Thank You Lord.

(Simon Peter asked Jesus why He was washing his feet) “Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not know now but afterward you will understand.” John 12:7
Lord how often I have said that same thing and had questions too. There is so much in life we don’t understand today. It was okay for Simon Peter not to know and it is also okay for us not to know.
Thank You Lord for faith to believe.
Thank You that we can trust You to do what is best for us.
Thank You that You love us unconditionally.
Oh how blessed and loved we are Lord.
Thank You. Thank You Lord.

He (Jesus) came to Simon Peter; and Peter said to Him, “Lord do you wash my feet?” John 13:6
Lord, Simon Peter must have wondered why You were washing his feet when he should have been washing Your feet.
Thank You Lord for caring for Your disciples and humbly washing their feet.
Thank You for being there for us when we cry out to You for help.
Your love for us knows no limits.
Thank You Lord.

Then He (Jesus) poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. John 13:5
Once again Lord we see Your humanity and Your humility.
Thank You for teaching us how to live.
Thank You for the gift of service to others.
Thank You for the joy in serving.
With grateful hearts we see how blessed we truly are.
Thank You Lord.

Then He (Jesus) poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. John 13:5
Lord how surprising it must have been for the disciples when You washed their feet. You humbled Yourself and served.
Thank you Lord for being our example.
Thank You for teaching us that it is better to give than to receive.
Thank You for the gift of Yourself to each one of us.
Gifts! Love! Unconditional love…..
Thank You Lord.

And during supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him, Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, rose from supper, laid aside His garments and girded Himself with a towel. John 13:2, 3
Lord the stage is being set for your crucifixion. The devil has already been working within Judas. Evil thoughts were going through his head.
Thank You Lord that You know all things.
Thank You for Your unconditional love.
Thank You for your protection.
Thank You Lord for loving us so much!
Thank You Lord.
