Thought For Today

Instead, make yourselves beautiful on the inside, in your hearts, with the enduring quality of a gentle, peaceful spirit. This type of beauty is very precious in God’s eyes. 1 Peter 3:4

Thank You Lord for giving us the gift of a gentle, peaceful spirit. It IS an ‘enduring quality’ and greatly sought after by those that love You. It IS a type of beauty that is very precious in Your eyes. The beauty comes from within and just bubbles out. I love it Lord when I see it in others.

Reading this verse reminds me of days of old when I watched the Miss. America pageants with my mother. We would always try to pick the winner. At the end when the question was asked those that loved You Lord would mention something about You in their talk. Mom and I would say ‘we knew it…we could tell she was different from the others with her warm spirit and her beautiful smile.’

Thank You Lord for giving us that love You and follow Your leading a beauty that is on the inside that shines forth for all to see. It is Your light within that calls others to come follow You. How we thank and praise YOU!

Thank You Lord for all the wonderful things You are for us…. There are many and the Psalmist had a lot of experience and knew how to praise and thank You in this scripture. Thank You Lord that we can totally trust You. What a wonderful feeling deep within our souls to know that Your unconditional love will help us through this life and into the next when we spend all eternity with You. Thank You for being our refuge in the storms of life. Thank You for being our place of safety. We love You Lord and thank You for guiding us through this day.

Thank You Lord for being the same Lord today that You were when these words were written. Your love and faithfulness is the same. All that You provided for those that loved You way back then You still provide for us today. It is You Lord that is here right with us. AND by experience we KNOW that YOU will NOT fail or forsake us. You take our fear and turn it into JOY as we trust You. Oh how we thank and praise You.

I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because He inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call on Him as long as I live. Psalms 116:1, 2

Thank You Lord that the more we get to know You the more we KNOW You will ALWAYS be there for us. Our faith and trust grow and grow as we draw closer to You. We learn that You are our help and our strength in ALL situations. We learn there is nothing too hard for You. Oh how blessed we are and we praise and thank You because we…like the psalmist of old…. KNOW the power there is in praying. We love You Lord and thank You for our peace and our joy today.

Thank You Lord for loving us. Oh what a gift and a blessing to know that even if there is no person in this world that loves us YOU DO! What a wonderful promise to think on and give thanks for. There are so many other things that come along with Your love…. When we begin to think upon them the list becomes endless. Each day You guide and direct us with a love that only You can give us. Oh how we thank You for Your peace and joy today.

You (the Lord) will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Isaiah 26:3

Thank You Lord for Your PERFECT PEACE. It is ALWAYS there for our taking. It is never removed from us that follow You BUT it is up to us to take it. I loved the mind changing knowledge I received at church on Sunday. The part of our brain that houses our ‘thankful’ thoughts can only have one thought. It is not able to handle the opposite of being thankful and thoughts that are anxious or sad or angry or dissatisfied, etc. Once I heard that statement it made sense to me Lord why You have worked on me for all these years and reminded me to always be ‘thankful.’ It is Your way of life for us to rejoice and be glad and to be full of the joy of the Lord. Oh how blessed I am that even after all these years of me falling so short of the mark You still love me UNCONDITIONALLY and are always there to pick me up and set me on Your pathway of peace once again. Oh… how can I help but praise and thank You and be full of Your joy. Thank You Lord for YOUR peace today that passes all human understanding.

Thank You Lord for delighting in us. Thank You for loving us unconditionally. I just can’t thank You enough for that gift to us. We are such broken vessels that long to be perfect and Christ like and yet so often we have to cry out for You to have mercy on us as we fail again. Thank You for ALWAYS hearing our cries and picking us up and putting us on Your pathway once again. Your love and comfort help us through each day and we thank and praise You.

One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord ALL the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple. Psalms 27:4

Lord how thankful we are that today we don’t have to go to the ‘house of the Lord’ to hear about You or to feel Your presence. We are blessed to have Bibles today. Thank You for our places where we can gather together to worship but how great today that You are always with us. Thank You for dying for us and giving us the Holy Spirit when You left this earth. Thank You for answering us when we seek You. Oh how we love to grow more and more like You. How awesome it is to know You love us unconditionally. We have so much to thank and praise You for today Lord. We are truly blessed.

Thank You Lord that we can count on You to lead us in the right direction that brings life and peace. You know all and see all and remind us that WE only see through a glass darkly. We can’t see the beginning and the end but You can. You know just what we need when we need it. Thank You for always being there with Your comfort and peace. Thank You for helping us to ‘set our minds on the Spirit.’ Thank You for the peace and joy that floods our souls as we look to You for Your guidance and love. We love You Lord and thank You for guiding us through this day.
