Seeing the crowds, He (Jesus) went up on the mountain, and when He sat down His disciples came to Him. Matthew 5:1

Lord, how fortunate Your disciples were because You spent time with them. AND how wonderful that You were available to them and wanted to spend time with them.

Thank You Lord that You are there for us today just as You were there for Your disciples.

Thank You for the invitation to ‘come unto You all that labor and are heavy laden and You will give us rest’…

We have it all Lord because we have You.

Thank You Lord. Thank You.

And great crowds followed Him (Jesus) from Galilee and the Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and from beyond the Jordan. Matthew 4:25

Lord it is very easy to see why there was always great crowds around You. Today would be no different. You were healing the sick and causing blind eyes to see. I can imagine that word spread like a wild fire and the crowds got bigger and bigger.

Thank You Lord for coming to earth to be about Your Father’s business.

Thank You for always pointing us upward – and to why You were here.

We too are here today to bring glory to our Father.

Thank You for helping us each step of our way.

Thank You! Thank You Lord.

So His (Jesus) fame spread throughout all Syria, and they bought Him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, and paralytics, and He healed them.
Matthew 4:24

Lord I certainly can see why You were becoming more and more popular. As word spread more and more people would want to follow You just to see what You would do next.

Thank You Lord for Your healing power.

Thank You for Your love for the people.

Thank You for Your unconditional love for each and every person alive.

Oh how blessed we are Lord because You love us.

Thank You Lord. Thank You.

And He (Jesus) went about all Galilee; teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every infirmity among the people. Matthew 4:23

Thank You Lord for the description Matthew has given us of what You did while here on earth.

Thank You for showing us Your compassion for those that needed Your special touch.

There are many fascist of Your life shown here – teaching – preaching — healing. Thank You for each one and how You used them to benefit all that were around You.

Eyes were opened and the blind could see.

Thank You Lord.

And going on from there (Sea of Galilee) He (Jesus) saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. Immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him. Matthew 4:21, 22

Lord first we see Simon Peter and Andrew leave their nets immediately to follow You. Now we see two other brother James and John leave their father and come follow You.

Thank You Lord for those that hear Your call and follow immediately.

Most of all Lord I thank You for Your call to each of us to come – follow You.

Thank You for giving us the power and strength to do whatever You are calling us to do.

Oh how grateful we are Lord that You call us.

Thank You Lord.

As He (Jesus) walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brother, Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed Him. Matthew 4:18, 19

Thank You Lord for calling each of us to ‘come, follow You.’

Thank You for the obedience of Simon Peter and Andrew.

Oh to be like them and to always follow when we hear Your call.

Thank You for Your power and strength to follow You.

How blessed we are Lord and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

From that time (after the temptation in the wilderness) Jesus began to preach saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17

Thank You Lord for calling us all to repent and follow You.

Thank You for Your unconditional love that loves us in spite of who and what we are.

Thank You for welcoming us with open arms of love.

How blessed we are to be called Your children.

Thank YOU Lord.

Now when He (Jesus) heard that John had been arrested, He withdrew into Galilee; and leaving Nazareth He went and dwelt in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun, by the sea, in the territory of Zebulum and Naphtali, that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, across the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles –the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and for those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned.” Matthew 4:12 – 16

Thank You Lord for the bright light that You are.

Thank You for calling each one of us to become Your followers.

We love You Lord. Thank You for Your unconditional love.

Thank You Lord.

Then the devil left Him, (Jesus) and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. Matthew 4:11

Thank You Lord for the part the angels played in bring comfort to You after Your temptation.

Thank You for the comfort You bring us when we need it.

Thank You that You never leave us and You are always there when we call out to You.

Oh what a gift! Oh what a blessing.

Thank You Lord.

Then Jesus said to him, (Satan) “Be gone, Satan! for it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.’” Matthew 4:10

Thank You Lord for Matthew’s account of Your encounter with Satan….the fallen angel.

Thank You for giving us the power over him when we use Your name. We can say, ‘In the name of Jesus get away from me’ and he has no power and has to leave just as he had to leave when You told him to.

Thank You for our strength and wisdom.

Thank You Lord.
