(Jesus continued) “From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force.” Matthew 11:12

Lord so often in scripture it seems as if You are talking about our world today. Certainly all the things mentioned are things that are going on today.

Thank You Lord for the ability to trust in You.

Thank You that when we cry out to You You are always there.

Thank You that we don’t need to have fear because You have conquered fear.

Oh how blessed we are when we call upon You for help. You are ALWAYS there.

Thank You! Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. Matthew 11:11

Lord, there is so much I don’t know and I don’t understand. One thing I hear You say though is how great John the Baptist was. He was described as a ‘voice crying in the wilderness.’ He was always pointing everyone to You Lord.

You came to earth to die for our sin. You accomplished that goal. Oh how blessed we are to know that You are always with us.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “This is he to whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send My messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.’” Matthew 11:10

Lord, we know that John the Baptist had a great job to do. He had to tell the people about Your coming to earth. Everything he did he pointed people to You.

Thank You for John’s life. Thank You for the lessons he teaches us. Oh that we could be like him and only point others to You.

Thank You that with You in our lives Lord, all things are possible.

Thank You Lord.

As they (John’s disciples) went away, Jesus began to speak to the crowds concerning John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to behold? A reed shaken by the wind? Why then did you go out? To see a man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, those who wear soft raiment as in kings’ houses. Why then did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.” Matthew 11:7 – 9

Lord, John was a man that had a lot of disciples. It was those disciples that came to You to find out if You were for real. John had sent them to question You. Now that they had left You turned to talk with the crowd about John and those that had followed him.

Lord we have all this history about You. They didn’t have what we have today and yet they loved You and followed You.

Thank You for opening our eyes of understanding and showing us Your truths. Humbly I bow and thank You.

Thank You Lord.

And Jesus answered them, (John’s disciples) “Go and tell John what you hear and see; the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them. And blessed is he who takes no offense to Me.” Matthew 11:4 – 6

Lord all these things You did were amazing. How the crowds loved You and what You were doing for them. Obviously the word was spreading all over because John had heard it even though he was in prison.

But we know Lord that wasn’t the end of the story beautiful as it was. You came for us. You lived and died that we all could have eternal life.

Oh how we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples and said to Him, “Are You He who is to come, or shall we look for another?” Matthew 11:2, 3

Lord, it is so great to know who You are and why You came to earth.

Thank You for being our Lord and our Savior.

We are blessed because You love us Lord.

Thank You for Your unconditional love.

Thank You Lord.

And when Jesus had finished instructing His twelve disciples, He went on from there to teach and preach in their cities. Matthew 11:1

Thank You Lord for Your instructions to Your twelve disciples. They show us what to do too.

Thank You for teaching and preaching to all You met. You show us how to bring glory to God our Father.

Thank You for calling us as individuals to ‘come – follow You.’

We have so much to be thankful for Lord but most of all we thank You for Your unconditional love that calls us all to be more like You.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “He who receives a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward, and he who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.” Matthew 10:41

Lord I am reminded of the verse that says ‘give and it shall be given to you’… I think that is what you are saying here. When we give we receive. When we are willing to set aside our own desires for Your desires we are certainly the winner.

Thank You Lord for helping us want to be a help to others.

Thank You for bring those to us that need our help and thank You for the wisdom to know how to help them.

It is all about You Lord. Thank You that we can always come to You in the day and in the night. Oh what a gift that truly is.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receive Me receives Him who sent me.” Matthew 10:40

Thank You Lord that we are Yours.

Thank You for eternal life.

Thank You for Your love …. Your unconditional love.

Oh how blessed we are Lord because of You

Thank You Lord.

Thank You.
