Thought For Today

(Jesus continued) “Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.” Matthew 12:31, 32

Thank You Lord for Your forgiveness.

Thank You for being a loving and caring God.

Thank You for giving those You were talking to guidelines that we too must live by.

Thank You for always listening when we ask Your forgiveness for our shortcomings.

We serve a loving all powerful God.

(Jesus continued) “He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.” Matthew 12:30

Lord what a wonderful gift You have given us to allow us to be with You.

Thank You for giving us the opportunity to come to You with our praises and with our requests.

Thank You for always being there to hear and answer.

Thank You that Your answers are always for our own good even though at times we doubt it when the going is so hard.

Thank You for Your unconditional love.

We love You Lord and thank You for our many gifts.

Oh how we thank You.

(Jesus continued) “Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.” Matthew 12:29

Lord this certainly makes sense to me. BUT You were dealing with the Pharisees and they were out to trip You up. They didn’t want to hear Your logic. They wanted to find a reason to kill You.

Thank You Lord that we know the truth.

Thank You for the Holy Spirit that shows us truth.

We are blessed Lord and we thank You.

(Jesus continued) “But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” Matthew 12:28

Lord how blessed we all are that were born knowing the end of the story. We don’t have to wonder what happened during Your lifetime. We can read of it in the Bible….. Your inspired word.

Thank You for preserving it for us.

Thank You for showing us how we can live for You.

Thank You for showing us how to have peace and joy in our lives.

Oh how we thank You Lord.

Knowing their (Pharisees) thoughts, He (Jesus) said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand; and if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand?”
John 12:25, 26

Thank You Lord for this beautiful lesson in unity.

Thank You for the wonderful time with my five brothers and sisters and the unity we all have because of You.

Thank You for parents that loved us and taught us to love and put You first in our lives. Now that they are with You Lord, they have left behind those examples of love that continue in all our lives today.

Thank You for the opportunity You give each of us to pass the good on that we have been so freely given.

Oh how we appreciate Your unconditional love Lord. Thank You!

But when the Pharisees heard it (the blind and dumb demoniac was healed) they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.” Matthew 12:24

Lord these men did not want to believe in You. It would not have matter what you had done they would never believe. There are those today that will not believe either. No matter how many miracle they see they still have all kinds of questions that are filled with unbelief.

Thank You Lord for allowing us to enjoy You. Thank You for showing us who You are,

And all the people were amazed, and said, “Can this be the Son of David?” Matthew 12:23

Lord You had just healed the blind and dumb demoniac man. Everyone was amazed. Its no wonder the crowds followed You everywhere. They never knew what miracle they would see. More and more there were those that believed in You.

Thank You for the Bible and the insights it gives us today.

We have so much more than those we are reading about to help us in our lives today.

Thank You for opening our minds and helping us grasp who You truly are.

Then a blind and dumb demoniac was brought to Him, (Jesus) and he healed him, so that the dumb man spoke and saw. Matthew 12:22

Lord this seemed to be the ultimate in needing a healing touch……a blind and dumb demoniac. And….You healed him……Wow! What must it have been like to have been there and watched. What excitement…..what amazement…. Seeing and speaking ……healed.

Thank You Lord for Matthew’s account of this event. How exciting it is to read of Your walk on this earth. Thank You for sharing it with us through Matthew’s eyes. What a gift to each of us.

This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: “Behold, My servant whom I have chosen, My beloved with whom My soul is well pleased. I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He shall proclaim justice to the Gentiles. He will not wrangle or cry aloud, nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets: He will not break a bruised reed or quench a smoldering wick, till He justice to victory; and in His name will the Gentiles hope.” Matthew 12:17 – 22

Jesus, aware of this, (the Pharisees were trying to destroy Him) withdrew from there. And many followed Him, and He healed them all and ordered them not to make Him known. Matthew 12:15, 16

Lord what a great example You are to us as we read about You. You knew the Pharisees were trying to get You and You left. You didn’t try and convince them who You were….. You just left. What a great example for us. Just leave!

Thank You for the wisdom to know what to do as we ask You and keep our eyes upon You Lord.
