And when they (Jesus and Peter) got into the boat the wind ceased. And those in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.” Matthew 14:32, 33
Lord, these men saw with their own eyes something so miraculous that it changed their lives. They worshiped You because they knew who You were.
Thank You Lord that we can have that very same experience. Oh we won’t physically walk on water but once we catch a glimpse of who You truly are we feel like we are walking on water.
Our blinded eyes when open to the truth of who You are give us a new appreciation of all we have in You. We are alive because You have a purpose for us.
Oh how we praise and thank You Lord for Your presence in our lives. We are free to love and serve because of You.
Thank You Lord.

And when they (Jesus and His disciples) had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent around to all that region and brought to Him all that were sick, and besought Him that they might only touch the fringe of His garment; and as many as touched it were made well. Matthew 14:34-36
Thank You Lord for Your healing touch. Oh how we need to reach out and touch but the hem of Your garment and we are healed. Healed – emotionally as well as physically. Oh how You love us. Oh how You want us to be healed. You tell us to come to You …..and come we do…. We love You Lord.
Thank You for Your touch on each of our live. We are truly blessed.
Thank You Lord.

Jesus reached out his hand and immediately caught him, (Peter walking on the water) saying to him, “Oh man of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:31
Lord, it took faith for Peter to step out of the boat into the water and walk toward You. His faith faltered…..he began sinking…..You caught Him.
Oh Lord this so reminds me of what our lives so often are like. We have faith and our lives are full of Your joy and all of a sudden the doubts begin to rise within. It is then that You cause the circumstances in our lives to draw us back to You. We are just like Peter. Our eyes lose focus…..we begin to fall….You pick us up and set us on the solid ground once again.
Oh how we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And Peter answered Him, (Jesus) “Lord, if it be You, bid me come to You on the water.” Matthew 14:28
Lord, Peter is so interesting. He will later in his life deny You but at this time his faith was so strong that he believed if You told him to come to You he could walk on the water like You were doing.
Thank You Lord for faith to believe.
Thank You for helping us put our faith that believes into action.
Oh to be like You Lord. Oh to be like You. Thank You for Your power and strength that carries us through when we need it most.
Thank You Lord.

But when the disciples saw Him (Jesus) walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately He spoke to them, saying, “Take heart, it is I, have no fear.” Matthew 14:26, 27
Lord, how wonderful when we hear those words and know You are with us.
How comforting to hear Your still small voice speak peace to Your frightened hearts.
Thank You Lord for the assurance You give us…..Your words ……’have no fear’ brings a gentle quietness and peace to our souls.
Thank You for Your peace Lord.
Thank You!
Thank You Lord.

And in the fourth watch of the night, He (Jesus) came to them, walking on the sea. Matthew 14:25
Thank You Lord for Matthew’s record of this event.
Thank You for showing us in so many events just who You were.
Thank You for the joy and peace we have in knowing You.
Thank You Lord.

And after He (Jesus) had dismissed the crowds, He went up into the hills by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone, but the boat by this time was many furlongs distant from the land, beaten by the waves; for the wind was against them. Matthew 14:23, 24
Thank You Lord for showing us the importance of taking time out of our busy day to pray.
You are never too busy to hear our prayers.
Thank You for ALWAYS being there.
Thank You Lord.

(After the feeding of the 5,000 men plus women and children) Then He (Jesus) made the disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowds. And after he had dismissed the crowds, He went up into the hills by Himself to pray. Matthew 14:22, 23a
Thank You Lord for allowing us to come to You in prayer. How fortunate we are to have a caring God listen and understand.
Thank You for showing us how important prayer is in our lives. You prayed and we see here it was after a very big successful event.
Thank You that there is nothing too big or too small ……You are always there to hear.
Oh how we thank You for being our Lord and our Savior.
Thank You Lord.

And they all (crowd) ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces left over. (From the 2 Fish and 5 Loaves) And those who ate were about 5,000 men, besides women and children. Matthew 14:20, 21
Lord, everyone must have been so amazed when they watched the baskets being passed and not getting empty. How was this happening. And then there were twelve baskets left over. There must have been a lot of excitement in the air that day as everyone ate all they wanted and watched the miracle unfold that they were a part of.
Lord, I am once again reminded that nothing….NOTHING…..is too hard for You. Nothing is impossible for You. Oh what little faith we so often have. You have given us so very, very much! Oh how we thank You.
Thank You Lord.
