And Jesus stopped and called them, (two blind men) saying, “What do you want me to do for you?” Matthew 20:32
Lord, You knew what these two blind men wanted and yet You asked them what they wanted. You know our thoughts and You know our desires but You were asking them to speak them to You.
So often when praying Lord, I think this same thought….’Lord, You know what I am asking for and yet I am asking.’ I am asking because You have asked that I bring my burdens and joys to You.
Thank You Lord for always being there and listening.
Thank You that the answers are the answers that are BEST for me and not always the answers ‘I’ want to hear.
Oh how I praise and thank You for being in control of my life. I know You want the very best for me. Thank You!
Thank You Lord.

The crowd rebuked them, (2 blind men) telling them to be silent; but they cried out the more, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” Matthew 20:31
Lord, there are times in life when others just don’t ‘get it’…. This crowd didn’t want to hear these men crying out to You. They didn’t want Your attention to be diverted to them. They wanted to hear what You had to say.
BUT this was a chance for blind men to see. I’m afraid I would be crying out at the top of my lungs and I’m sure they were a bit obnoxious too. Who wouldn’t be in their situation. This was their opportunity to see again.
Lord, thank You for placing within each of us the will to survive. We all know ‘absent from the body, present with the Lord’ and yet we still have the desire to live. These men wanted to live. They wanted to see.
Thank You Lord of the desires You have given us to survive. Sometimes it is a real struggle and yet we struggle and struggle to live. It is Your gift to us. Thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And the crowds that went before Him, (Jesus) and that followed Him shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest.” Matthew 21:9
Lord today we are shouting those same things. We are grateful that You came to redeem us.
Thank You for our many gifts and blessings.
Yesterday was the first day of spring. Spring for me means a new beginning. Thank You for new beginnings Lord.
We are blessed! Thank You.
Thank You Lord.

Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Matthew 21:8
Lord this tells us how much this crowd loved You. I can see the pictures I have seen over the years of this beautiful scene. These people were very excited for You to be in their presence.
I’m so glad we have this account in the gospels told through the eyes of Matthew. This story goes through a difficult time before we get to the end BUT the good new is there is a wonderful ending.
Thank You for coming to earth Lord. Oh how we praise and thank You for bring us eternal life. Thank You!
Thank You Lord.

And Jesus entered the temple of God and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and He overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer’; but you make it a den of robbers.” Matthew 21:12, 13
Thank You Lord for being about Your Father’s business.
Thank You for throwing out those that were out for their own good and not for Your good.
Thank You for allowing us to come to You in prayer. What a wonderful gift.
Thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And when He (Jesus) entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, “Who is this?” And the crowd said, “This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth of Galilee.” Matthew 21:10, 11
Lord the crowd was excited that You were there but the officials of the city were concerned. You knew this was going to happen and You had tried to prepare Your disciples.
Thank You Lord for coming to earth for us.
Thank You for Your unconditional love.
I can never thank and praise You enough for all You have given me.
Thank You.
Thank You Lord.

The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them; they brought the ass and the colt, and put their garments on them, and He (Jesus) sat thereon. Matthew 21:6, 7
Thank You Lord for obedience.
Thank You for the willingness of the disciples to obey and go get the ass and her colt.
Thank You too for the desire to please You. They were willing to please You and we are too.
Oh how we love You Lord and thank You for giving us the strength we need day by day.
Thank You. Thank You Lord.

This (bringing the ass and colt to Jesus) took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying, “Tell the daughters of Zion, Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on an ass, and on a colt, the foal of an ass.” Matthew 21:4, 5
Thank You Lord for showing us over and over how the words that were written long before You came to earth were fulfilled. Here is another example.
Thank You for teaching us humility.
Thank You for the gentle ways You have of humbling us when we become proud.
Thank You for showing us that all we are or will become is because of You.
Oh how we love You Lord. Thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And when they (Jesus and Disciples) drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find an ass tied, and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and he will send them immediately.” Matthew 21:1 – 3
And today we know Lord that this began Your entry on Palm Sunday. How we thank and praise You for coming to earth for us. As we follow this scripture at this Easter season we are once again reminded of the price You paid for all of us. What a gift we received because You came. Thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And behold, two blind men sitting by the roadside, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” Matthew 20:30
Lord, I can feel the excitement of these two men as they cried out to You. I’m sure they had heard stories of how the blind were able to see after they were healed by You. You were their only hope and now You were passing by them.
I love it that they took action and cried out to You. Today You give us that same option of trying to do everything in our own strength or asking You to help us.
Oh how I thank You Lord that You are always there when we cry out to You.
Thank You! Thank You Lord.
