(Jesus continued talking with the chief priests and elders) “What do you think? A man has two sons; and he went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’ And he answered, ‘I will not’; but afterward he repented and went. And he went to the second and said the same; and he answered, ‘I go, sir,’ but did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the harlots believed him; and even when you saw it, you did not afterward repent and believe him.” Matthew 21:28 – 32

Thank You Lord that You continued to point out to these chief priests and elders how far they were from believing the truth.

Thank You for so often helping us see things in a new light and understand how much we have been given by accepting Your leading and directing in our lives.

Oh how truly blessed we are Lord and I thank You!

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued talking with the chief priests and elders) “The baptism of John, whence was it? From heaven or from men?” And they argued with one another, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say to us, “Why then did you not believe him?” But if we say, ‘From men,’ we are afraid of the multitude; for all hold that John was a prophet.” So they answered Jesus, “We do not know.” And He said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things. Matthew 21:25 -27

Lord there are always those that don’t want to believe no matter how good the arguments are. You knew these chief priests and elders hearts. You knew they would not believe what You had to say. There was no sense even talking with them.

Lord it is wonderful to talk with those who have a heart for You and rejoice in all that You are doing in their lives.

Thank You for the encouragement we bring to each other. Your disciples knew You and loved You and what a gift they were in Your life.

Thank You Lord for those that know us and love us. We are truly blessed to have them.

Oh how I thank You for each person and their love.

Thank You Lord.

Jesus answered them, (chief priests and elders) “I also will ask you a question; and if you tell me the answer, then I also will tell you by what authority I do these things.” Matthew 21:24

Lord You knew their thoughts and You knew their motives. They could not outsmart You. Now You were going to ask them a question and then You said You would give them Your answer.

Thank You for knowing our hearts and our motives.

Thank You for always being their to comfort and to guide.

Thank You for having our ‘best’ interest all the time.

We are oh so very, very blessed.

Thank You Lord.

And when He (Jesus) entered the temple, the chief priests and elders of the people came up to Him as He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are You doing these things, and who gave You authority?” Matthew 21:23

Lord these men did not like You because of Your popularity. They wanted You out of their territory. They were trying to trip You up so they had reason to kick You out.

Thank You for going through what You did here on earth because You know exactly how we feel when we are turned against. We see how You were treated and we know how You responded. You were about Your Father’s business and You kept going and doing.

Thank You Lord for helping us each day to keep going and doing….even in the midst of adversity. You are there. You care. Thank You!

Thank You Lord.

And (Jesus) seeing a fig tree by the wayside He went to it, and found nothing on it but leaves only. And He said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once. When the disciples saw it they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither at once?” And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and never doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea.’ It will be done. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Matthew 21:19 – 22

Oh Lord, my faith is so small. Reading this verse shows me just how small my faith is. BUT…. I know the good news …. all I need to do is ask and You will help me. You continually ask us to come to You. You are always there. You want to give us more faith.

Thank You Lord for always being there and calling each of us to draw closer to You. Oh how we need You. Oh how we thank You.

Thank You . Thank you Lord.

In the morning, as He (Jesus) was returning to the city, He was hungry. Matthew 21:18

Lord, thank You once again for Matthew’s account of Your life here on earth. Just as we become hungry You became hungry after sleeping all night.

Once again I am reminded of the intricate way we are made.

You made us Lord and You know all about us. When we cry out to You You know just what we mean and what we need. What a gift!

We are truly blessed.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that He (Jesus) did, and the children crying out in the temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant; and they said to Him, “Do you hear what they are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes, have you never read, ‘Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings Thou has brought perfect praise?’ Matthew 21:15, 16

Lord, You were there to honor Your heavenly Father and You were doing His will in the temple. Oh yes, You were getting a lot of attention and the chief priests and scribes were losing their power with the people.

Lord I love Your example. You show us exactly what we need to do. You call us all to be strong in the power of YOUR might. How I thank You for Your help each moment of every day. You are with me. You care. Thank you!

Thank You Lord.

And the blind and the lame came to Him (Jesus) in the temple, and He healed them. Matthew 21:14

Lord what an exciting time for those that were there to be healed and also for those watching all of this taking place.

Thank You for Your healing touch Lord. We all need to be touched by You whether physically or emotionally and most of all spiritually.

Thank You Lord that You are always there….You hear our cry…. Oh how blessed we are Lord to be Your children.

Thank You for always being with us.

Thank You Lord.

And Jesus in pity touched their (2 blind men) eyes, and immediately they received their sight and followed Him. Matthew 20:34

Lord how excited these two men must have been when immediately they could see. Of course they would follow You. Even today those that have had drastic changes in their life by You are the ones that follow You the closest.

Thank You Lord for Your life changing power.

Thank You for changing our lives and helping us see You with open eyes.

Oh how blessed we are Lord. We are just as blessed today as these blind men were when You were here on earth.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

They (two blind men) said to Him, (Jesus) “Lord, let our eyes be opened.” Matthew 20:33

Lord what an exciting time for these two blind men. We don’t know any of their history other than that they were both blind. You had stopped on Your way into town and asked them why they were crying out. What did they want from You. Now they have answered that they wanted their eyes open.

Lord when I put myself in their place….they were sitting there not seeing anything. Total darkness. Not knowing where You were standing or what You looked like. Seeing absolutely nothing. But they could hear…..they heard You stop. Oh how excited that must have made them.

Lord, there are times in our lives when You stop us and ask, ‘What do we want.’ You want us to tell You. You want to know the desires of our hearts even though You already know what they are. Telling You seems to make it real and seal it in concrete so to speak. Thank You for allowing us to come to You and ask. Oh what a wonderful gift we are given. How blessed we are.

Thank You! Thank You Lord.
