Thought For Today

(Jesus continued talking about the last days before He came back to earth again.) “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant who his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods.” Matthew 24:46, 47

Thank You Lord for rewarding our faithfulness.

Thank You for Your help in keeping us close to You.

Thank You for the many blessings that are ours because we follow You.

Thank You.

(Jesus continue talking about the world before his return to earth.) “But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Matthew 24:42 – 44

Lord and ready we all want to be. We want to be watching each day knowing that any day could be the day You will come back. Thank You for Your promise. Thank You for our hope as we watch and wait. Thank You for Your gift of love.

“Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.” Matthew 24:40 – 42

Lord the great news is You will come back again to take us with You.

We wait and watch with great anticipation.

For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matthew 24:36 – 39

Thank You Lord for giving us Your warning to watch for Your coming and be ready.

Thank You for the peace that You give us as we wait and watch.

Oh how we thank You for always preparing a way of escape for us.

Thank You Lord for Your promises.

Thank You that we can not only believe them – we can trust You.

There are greater things in store for us as Your children than we can even imagine. It’s exciting to read and think about all You have prepared for us for all eternity. Oh how we thank You.

(Jesus continued) “Now learn this parable from the fig tree. When it’s branches has already become tender and put forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see al these things know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.” Matthew 24:32 – 34

Thank You Lord for going to prepare a place for us to be with You for all eternity.

Thank You for calling us to come follow You.

Thank You for the assurance that we are Your children. What a great gift we have been given. Oh how we thank You.

“And He (Jesus) will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Matthew 24:31

Lord, thank You for the assurance that You will come again. We wait with anticipation. It is going to be an exciting time in our lives when You come to take us with You to live with You for all eternity. Oh how we thank You.

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:30, 31

Lord as I read this I can feel the excitement that Matthew must have felt when he wrote this. None of us know when this will happen but we do KNOW it WILL happen. You will come back. That is a FACT! Thank You.

Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He (Jesus) is in the desert!’ do not go out: or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightening comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of man be. For wherever the carcass is there the eagles will be gathering together.” Matthew 24:26 – 28

Thank You Lord that when we seek You we find You.

Thank You for Your strength and wisdom each day.

Lord we can trust You and we thank You.

“Then if anyone says to you, “Look, here is the Christ!” or “There!” do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive if possible, even the elect. See I have told you beforehand.” Matthew 24:23 – 25

Lord, Your disciples had been wanting to know and You told them. I wonder if they wished they had not asked. What You shared with them was not something anyone would wish for.

Thank You Lord for the promise that perfect love for You casts out our fears. It is in trusting You and knowing that You will always be there that gives us peace. Your peace certainly does pass all natural understanding and we thank You for it. We need not fear and we thank You for Your promise that assures us of that fact.
