And He (Jesus) sternly charged him, (leper) and sent him away at once, and said to him, “See that you say nothing to any one; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a proof to the people” Mark 1:43, 44

Lord at the time this was written it was necessary for a leper to go to the priest and declare himself free from leprocy.

Lord I’ve always wondered about this verse. As I see it today You wanted the leper to be vindecated before he said anything to anyone. Certainly that was the right thing to do. The priest was the one that would be able to vindicate him.

Oh how wonderful it is to have a personal relation with You.

Thank You Lord. Thank you…

Moved with pity, He (Jesus) stretched out His hand and touched him (leper) and said to him, “I will; be clean.” And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean. Mark 1:41, 42

Lord there was so much more to these verses to thank and praise You for. As I read them again this morning I saw something I wanted to thank You for. ‘Moved with pity’ You stretch out Your hand and touched the leper.

This was something a person would not do. The lepers were considered to be unclean. No one touched them. They sent them out of town so they would not be around anyone and yet You touched him and healed him.

Thank You Lord for not only Your healing touch but also Your compassion. You are that same Lord today and I thank You. You love us unconditionally Lord and I thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Moved with pity, He (Jesus) stretched out His hand and touched him (leper) and said to him, “I will; be clean.” And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean. Mark 1:41, 42

Lord having been with lepers and known the devastation they feel I can imagine how this man must have felt when You healed him. It was truly a miracle. Spectacular! Amazing! I am sure this incident caused everyone in the community to stand in awe…..who was this man Jesus….

Lord today we stand in awe when You touch our lives and change us from within. We are new creatures from the inside out and it is all because of Your changing power within us. Oh how I marvel and stand in awe and thank You.

Thank You Lord. Thank You.

And a leper came to Him (Jesus) beseeching Him, and kneeling said to Him, “If You will, You can make me clean.” Mark 1:40

Lord, having been in a leper colony in Hong Kong I certainly can understand the desperation when this leper came to You. Seeing those in that colony isolated from family and friends with bodies half eaten away with leprosy was one of the most memorable experiences in my life. How I thank and praise You for the knowledge You gave to the scientist that found the cure. Today there is relief and there is healing via modern medicine. Thanks You Lord for Your gift to us through modern medicine today.

Oh how I thank You.

Thank You Lord.

And He (Jesus) went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons. Mark 1:39

Lord, what an exciting time this must have been for You and Your disciples.

Some of those that came to You were healed and demons were cast out. As these things took place You became more and more popular. People would gather just to watch. What an exciting and thrilling time it must have been for those that were healed.

I’m so glad I can read about it today. Thank You for giving us the Bible. We are all very blessed to have it.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

And Simon and those who were with Him (Jesus) followed Him, and they found Him and said to Him, “Every one is searching for You. And He said to them, “Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also; for that is why I came out.” Mark 1:36 – 38

Lord You came to earth with a purpose. Thank You for coming to redeem us. Thank You for teaching us how to live our lives to bring honor and glory to Your name. Thank You for Your guidance and direction.

We are truly blessed Lord and I thank You.

Thank You Lord.

And in the morning, a great while before day, He (Jesus) rose and went out to a lonely place, and there He prayed. Mark 1:35

Lord I am so thankful for prayer. What a gift prayer is to us. We can talk with You any time of the day or night and You are always there.

You taught us all about prayer when You were on this earth. You valued it. You chose to spend time praying. You were our example and oh, how I thank You for that awesome example. Thank You.

Thank You Lord.

That evening, at sundown, they brought to Him (Jesus) all who were sick or possessed with demons. And the whole city was gathered together about the door. And He healed many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons; and He would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew Him. Mark 1:32 – 34.

Lord once again we read in Mark all that You were doing while on this earth. You drew a crowd when they brought You the sick and demon possessed. Everyone wanted to watch so they came from the town to see what would happen. And happen it did….people were healed and demons were cast out. They all saw Your power and Your love for those that needed You so desperately.

Thank You Lord for being there for us today too. We want You and we love You. You call us to become more than we ever dreamed we could be and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

And immediately He (Jesus) left the synagogue, and entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. Now Simon’s mother-in-law lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told Him of her. And He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her; and she served them. Mark 1:29 – 31

Amazing Lord. Your disciples were with You and witnessed the healing. It must have been an exciting time for all of them. It certainly would have been for me.

Thank You for Your healing touch. Thank You that we are free to ask You for all our needs today just as they were at that time when You were on this earth.

We are so, so blessed and I thank You.

Thank You Lord.

And they (the crowd) were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching! With authority He (Jesus) commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.” And at once His fame spread everywhere throughout all the surrounding region of Galilee. Mark 1:27, 28

Lord it is awesome to read and feel the excitement among these people. They were there and saw first hand all that You were doing. I can image they went out and told someone and that someone told another and the word kept spreading and spreading.

Thank You Lord for giving us the opportunity to know Your power today.

Thank You that we can know You just as they knew You way back then.

Oh how blessed we are Lord and I praise and thank You.

Thank You Lord.
