And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that He (Jesus) was eating with sinners and tax collectors, said to His disciples, “Why does He eat with tax collectors and sinners?” And when Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark 2:16, 17
Thank You Lord for coming to earth to die for my sin.
I love You Lord and I know I need You. Thank You for calling me to come follow You.
Thank You Lord.

And as He (Jesus) sat at table in his (Levi) house, many tax collectors and sinners were sitting with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many who followed Him. Mark 2:15
Lord once You began Your ministry there were curious crowds that followed You. Many watched and listened and their lives were changed because they saw and knew who You were.
Thank You Lord for helping us to know who You are today. We have faith and know without seeing. Oh how we thank You for showing us the way.
Thank You. Thank You Lord.

And as He (Jesus) passed on, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office, and He said to him, “Follow me.” And he rose and followed Him. Mark 2:14
Oh Lord that we would all be as obedient to You as Levi was. You called him – he rose – and followed You.
Thank You Lord for those that are obedient when You call.
Thank You for helping me be obedient when You call to me.
Lord Keep our eyes on You and our ears listening . Give us a willingness Lord to come follow You.
Oh how we thank You for Your call.
Thank You Lord.

He (Jesus) went out again beside the sea; and all the crowd gathered about Him, and He taught them. Mark 2:13
Lord, it is so wonderful to be taught by You. Those listening in this verse were there with You. We can listen to You today through the written word the Bible.
I am so thankful for the written word and the fact that You speak through the Bible to me as I sit at Your feet and listen.
We are all so blessed to have Your words and I thank You.
Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued talking with the scribes about the paralytic man.) “But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins” — He said to the paralytic—“I say to you, rise, take up your pallet and go home.” And he rose, and immediately took up the pallet and went out before them all; so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!” Mark 2:10 – 12
Lord what an exciting time for those that were gathered but especially for the paralytic. He was healed. His sin was forgiven. He was a new man. His whole life changed in an instant.
Lord thank You for changing us from the inside out.
We are changed when we are touch by You. Oh how I thank You. Oh how I praise You.
Thank You. Thank You Lord.

Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak thus? It is blasphemy! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” And immediately Jesus, perceiving in His spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you question thus in your hearts? Which is easier to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your pallet and walk’? Mark 2:6 – 10
Thank You Lord for insights. ‘You perceived in Your spirit.’ It is a wonderful gift to perceive in our spirit…to know. Lord that is a treasured gift and I thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And they came, bringing to Him (Jesus) a paralytic carried by four men. And when they could not get near Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and when they had made an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic lay. And when Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “My son, your sins are forgiven. Mark 2:3 -5
Lord there is so much more to thank You for in this verse so I wanted to think about it again today.
These 4 men that brought this paralytic man were the kind of friends we all would want to have Lord. They not only brought him to You they had to take down part of the roof when they couldn’t get in the door. Thank You for friends that will go to any length because they love us. That is a wonderful gift to be treasured and not taken lightly.
Thank You for the friends in my life Lord. AND thank You for helping me be the kind of a friend I would want others to be to me. It is with Your help that I can be that friend and I thank You.
Thank You Lord.

Lord You honored the faith of the men that brought this man to You and the faith of the man that wanted to come to You. He was healed and not only healed but all his sins were forgiven too.
Thank You Lord for Your forgiveness and Your healing touch.
Thank You for Your compassion.
We have it all Lord because of You. Thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And when He (Jesus) returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that He was at home. And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room for them, not even about the door; and He was preaching the word to them. Mark 2:1, 2
Lord how exciting this must have been when You returned. I’m sure word had come back to the town about all that had happened while You were away. Everyone had gathered to see You and hear what You had to say. It was a great time.
Thank You Lord for gatherings. What a great time it is when we get together with those we love and miss. Being the oldest of six I look forward to our family gatherings. We make it a point to get together at least once a year. Its always hard to leave because we enjoying being together so much. Each of us goes back to a different state. We all are thankful for the time we have together. It is a true gift to each of us and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

But he (leper) went out and began to talk freely about it, (his healing by Jesus) and to spread the news, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter a town, but was out in the country; and people came to Him from every quarter. Mark 1:45
Lord – Your popularity kept growing and growing until You could no long go into the towns. The crowds were gathering – some curious and others coming for healing. There were those that were curious and those that loved You.
That is the way it is today too Lord. There are those of us that truly love You, there are those that love You and know Your power and they come to You for healing. Then there are those that are there just to see what is going on. They have no desire to follow You. The good news is that You don’t give up on us. You keep at us until we see You and love You.
Thank You Lord. Thank You.
