And His (Jesus) mother and His brothers came; and standing outside they sent to Him and called Him. Mark 3:31
Lord I am reminded so often of Your mother’s statement – ‘And Mary pondered all these things in her heart.’ Certainly when she came looking for You and the crowds were gathered all around You she was still ‘pondering all these things in her heart.’ I would imagine she felt the same way when You rose from the grave. She must have still ‘pondered all of that in her heart’ too.
Lord Mary didn’t understand everything and we don’t understand everything either. That is where our faith has to take over. We often have to believe what we have not seen just as Mary did all those years ago.
Thank You for faith Lord that can trust when we don’t see. We all need it and thank You for giving it moment by moment and day by day. Oh how we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin: –for they (scribes) had said, “He (Jesus) has an unclean spirit.” Mark 3:28 – 30
Thank You Lord for the way You stood up to these scribes that had accused You. There was just no way they were ever going to believe who You said You were. You knew their hearts and their motives. You knew they were against You.
Thank You Lord for being there for us no matter what we need.
Thank You for loving us when we stumble and fall. You pick us up and forgive us. Oh how we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “But no on can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man; then indeed he may plunder his house.” Mark 3:27
Lord You continued talking with the scribes that were trying to find fault with You to destroy You. They were trying to say You were of Satan. You came back and told them You couldn’t be of Satan or it would be like a divided household. Now You were using this parable to convince them You were bringing them the truth.
Thank You Lord for our willingness to believe You are indeed our risen Savior.
Thank You for a beautiful Easter day and the privilege to stop and worship You as our risen Lord.
Oh how full we are with Your knowledge and joy as we thank You.
Thank You Lord. Thank You….

(Jesus continued) “And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end.” Mark 3:26
Lord these scribes were trying to say You were from Satan and doing things in the name of Satan. You wanted them to see that was not the case. They really didn’t want to hear Your reasoning because they were out to destroy You any way they could.
Thank You Lord that You were the victor.
Thank You that as we celebrate Your death and resurrection we can rejoice because we know You are alive preparing a place for us.
Thank You for the promise that where You are we will be also.
We have the joy of celebrating Easter because You are alive.
Thank You! Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.” Mark 3:24, 25
Lord we all understand what You are saying here. Today many people work as a team. Sports are played as a team. It is important that everyone work together.
You were talking with the Pharisees and they certainly did not want to be considered a part of Your team. They were trying to find fault with You and anyone that associated with You. Oh how I thank You that You didn’t allow them to tear You down.
Thank You Lord for being in our lives today to build us up and change us into Your likeness. Oh how I praise and thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And He (Jesus) called them (scribes) to Him, and said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan?” Mark 3:23
Thank You Lord for the power to do all things.
Thank You that even though falsely accused You continued to change lives while on this earth.
Thank You for changing lives yet today.
We that love You continue to change more and more every day into Your likeness and I thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He (Jesus) is possessed by Beelzebul, and by the prince of demons He casts out the demons.” Mark 3:22
Lord these scribes just could not accept who You were. Once again they were saying unkind things about You.
Lord it is very hard to be falsely accused. That happens to us today too. You know what that was like because You had it happen to You so often when You were here on this earth.
Thank You Lord for knowing all about us. You know our every trial and our every weakness. Oh how blessed we are to be able to cry out to You for strength and wisdom and know You will hear and answer us.
Oh how we thank and praise You.
Thank You Lord. Thank You.

And when His (Jesus) friends heard it, (he could not even eat) they went out to seize Him, for they said, “He is beside Himself.” Mark 3:21
Lord Your friends meant well. They wanted to rescue You so You could eat.
Thanks You for friends Lord.
Thank You for helping us love people as they ‘are’ rather than loving them for what we ‘wish’ they were.
Thank You for helping us appreciate the little things in life that make a difference.
There is so much to thank You for Lord and I sure do thank You for all You mean to me. Thank You for changing me moment by moment into Your image.
Thank You Lord. Thank You.

Then He (Jesus) went home; and the crowd came together again, so that they could not even eat. Mark 3:19b, 20
Lord the crowds were always around You once You began Your ministry. The people gathered because they either wanted to be healed or they wanted to hear and see what You would do.
The crowds were around You so much that You could not even eat. There was no time alone. The crowds kept gathering.
Thank You Lord for quiet times and peace. Thank You for those times when we can just think about You and praise You. Thank You that You always hear us. We are so, so blessed and we thank You.
Thank You Lord. Thank You…..

And He (Jesus) went up into the hills, and called to Him those whom He desired; and they came to Him. And He appointed twelve, to be with Him, and to be sent out to preach and have authority to cast out demons; Simon whom He surnamed Peter; James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, whom, He surnamed Boanerges, that is, son of thunder; Andrew, and Philip, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canannaean, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him. Mark 3:11 – 19a
Lord these are the verses that tell us that You chose Your disciples. I wonder what it was like to have been chosen by You. What kind of excitement filled that room? How wonderful it must have been for all of them to have been chosen by You Lord. They didn’t have it easy but their rewards were great.
Lord often we don’t have it easy either. Life is full of ups and downs. The good news is that You are always with us through those ups and downs. Thank You for always being there to bring us comfort and cheer. We love You Lord and thank You.
Thank You Lord.
