And He (Jesus) said to them, (people gathered with the disciples) “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables: so that they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand; lest they should turn again, and be forgiven.” Mark 4:11, 12

Lord, You saw the hearts of all that were following You. You knew Judas was going to be the one that would betray You. You knew that when You asked him to come and follow You. You loved all in spite of what they were trying to do to You.

Thank You Lord for Your unconditional love. Oh how we need it.

We love You Lord and we thank You for Your unconditional love.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

And when He (Jesus) was along, those who were about Him with the twelve asked Him concerning the parables. Mark 4:10

Lord Your relationship with Your disciples was something to emulate. You loved them and cared about them. They were like sponges and wanted to learn whatever You would teach them. They loved You.

Lord today we too love You and want to learn from You. You help us see and understand. You teach us today just as You taught Your disciples. Oh how we need that and oh how we love it.

Thank You Lord…. Thank You.

(Jesus continued talking about the sower of the seed.) And He (Jesus) said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Mark 4:9

Thanks You Lord that we have ears to hear and are listening.

Thank You for our Bibles.

We are blessed with so much today and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “And other seeds fell into good soil and brought forth grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirty-fold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” Mark 4:8

Thank You Lord that our seed fell into good soil and brought forth grain.

Thank You for helping us grow and mature step by step and moment by moment.

We are Your children and we love You Lord. Thank You for being with us each moment of every day.

We are oh so blessed and we praise and thank You.

Thank You Lord. Thank You.

(Jesus continued) “Other seed fell among thorns and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain.” Mark 4:7

Lord here is another person that has so many obstacles that they have no time to continue their relationship with You. Oh in the beginning they thought You were what they wanted and needed but the cares of life snuffed You out.

Thank You for the power to keep our relationship with You going. It is when we seek You that we find You. Thank You for holding our hand tightly –so to speak – and helping us want to follow You. We are Yours and You are ours. Thank You.

Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued) “Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it had not much soil, and immediately it sprang up, since it had no depth of soil; and when the sun rose it was scorched, and since it had no root it withered away.” Mark 4:5, 6

Lord it is interesting listening to Mark tell us the story of the sower. What we are hearing is all the different types of people and how they react when they hear the gospel.

The first one didn’t even want to hear anything. This one hears and at first is enthused but as soon as the going got rough away they went back to their old life.

Lord I thank You that when I heard I wanted to make You Lord of my life. How fortunate I was to begin this journey as a little child. Oh how I thank You for the ‘seed’ that was planted in my heart all those years ago.

Thank You! Thank You Lord.

(Jesus continued –“A sower went out to sow.) “And as he sowed, some see fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.” Mark 4:4

Lord You talked in Parables but made sure Your disciples understood what they all meant.

Thank You Lord for giving us Your insight.

Thank You for giving us wisdom beyond our own understanding.

Thank You that when Your seed was sown it took root within our hearts and has continued to grow. We are Your children and we love You Lord. Thank You for being with us 24/7. Oh now we need You. Oh how we love You.

Thank You Lord. Thank You.

And He (Jesus) taught them many things in parables, and in His teaching He said to them: “Listen! A sower went out to sow.” Mark 4:2, 3

Lord You often spoke in parables. There were many that didn’t understand them until You said what You meant.

As I sit at Your feet and listen there is always much to learn.

Thank You for opening our eyes and giving us insights that we could not otherwise see.

As we continue to walk and talk with You we learn more and more how to become more like You. Oh how we thank You.

Thank You Lord. Thank You.

Again He (Jesus) began to teach beside the sea. And a very large crowd gathered about Him, so that He got into a boat and sat in it on the sea; and the whole crowd was beside the sea on the land. Mark 4:1

Lord what an exciting time for those alive at that time. It must have been a very mixed crowd. There were those that had accepted who You were and loved You. There were the ones that were not sure who You were but were there to investigate. Then there were the scribes and Pharisees that were there because they wanted to destroy You. They were looking for anything they could find that You were doing against the law. They were hoping to destroy You.

Thank You Lord that I was fortunate to know You and love You even though I wasn’t there to hear Your teaching.

Thank You for faith to believe and trust. Oh how I love You Lord. Thank You for Your unconditional love for me.

Thank You Lord.

And a crowd was sitting about Him; (Jesus) and they said to Him, “Your mother and Your brothers are outside, asking for You.” And He replied, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” And looking around on those who sat about Him, He said, “Here are My mother and My brother! Whoever does the will of God is My brother, and sister, and mother.” Matthew 3:32 – 35

Thank You Lord for loving each one of us just as if we were Your mother or sister or brother. We all matter to You.

You love each one of us with an unconditional love.

We are Yours and You are ours. Oh how I praise and thank You.

Thank You Lord.
