And the Pharisees and the scribes asked Him, (Jesus) “Why do Your disciples not live according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with hands defiled?” And He said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites as it is written, “This people honors Me with the their lips, but their heart is far from Me; in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men. You leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men.” Mark 7:5 – 8
Lord You were so honest in Your evaluation of the Pharisees. You knew their motives because You could see their heart.
Lord You see us and know all about us too and we thank You. We love You Lord. We thank You for being with us.
Thank You Lord.

Now when the Pharisees gathered together to Him, (Jesus) with some of the scribes, who had come from Jerusalem, they saw that some of His disciples ate with hands defiled, that is, unwashed. (For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, do not eat unless they wash their hands, observing the tradition of the elders; and when they come from the market place, they do not eat unless they purify themselves; and there are many other traditions which they observe, the washing of cups and pots and vessels of bronze.) Mark 7:1-4
Lord we have read over and over of how the Pharisees were trying to find a way to get You and Your popularity away from the crowds. This was just another excuse they were using. They were watching every move Your disciples made.
Thank You Lord for knowing their motives and desires.
Thank You for knowing us and loving us Lord. Oh how we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And wherever He (Jesus) came, in villages, cities, or country, they laid the sick in the market places, and besought Him that they might touch even the fringe of His garment; and as many as touched it were made well. Mark 6:56
Lord today we still marvel at all that went on during the time You were on this earth.
Thank You for being with those of us today that love and worship You.
We are never alone Lord and we thank and praise You.
Thank You. Thank You Lord.

And when they (Jesus and His disciples) got out of the boat, immediately the people recognized Him, (Jesus) and ran about the whole neighborhood and began to bring sick people on their pallets to any place where they heard He was. Mark 6:54, 55
Lord just reading this bring excitement. Who of us wouldn’t do the very same thing. We would run to find those we loved that were sick or blind or crippled. I can hear all in the town shouting …. Jesus is here. Jesus is here.
And Lord You love us too. You are also here for us. You are our comforter. You are with us and help us each moment of every day.
Oh how we thank You. Oh how we praise You. It is all so amazing ……
Thank You Lord.

And when they (Jesus and disciples) had crossed over, (in a boat) they came to land at Gennesaret, and moored to the shore. Mark 7:53, 54
Lord it seems You spent a lot of time in boats going back and forth so You could be alone with Your disciples. The crowds of people gathered as soon as they knew You were in their towns. The boat was an opportunity to be away for the crowd.
Thank You Lord for the opportunity we have to spend as much time with You as we desire to.
You are always there waiting for us and not only waiting but wanting us to come to You. Oh how we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And He (Jesus) got into the boat with them (disciples) and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded, for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened. Mark 7:51, 52
Lord I am going to focus on the fact that the wind ceased when You got into the boat with Your disciples. I’m not quite sure what is meant by the comment that the disciples’ hearts were hardened. These were Your disciples.
Thank You Lord for the amazing things we see accomplished because of Your love for us. Oh how we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And when evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and He (Jesus) was alone on the land. And He saw that they (disciples) were distressed in rowing, for the wind was against them. And about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. He meant to pass by them, but when they saw Him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out; for they all saw Him, and were terrified. But immediately He spoke to them and said, “Take heart, it is I; have no fear.” Mark 6:47 – 51
Thank You Lord for Your words of hope to all of us today…..”Take heart, it is I; have no fear.”
Oh how we all need to hear those words of encouragement Lord. Thank You for them.
You know all about us Lord and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And after He (Jesus) had taken leave of them, (His disciples) He went into the hills to pray. Mark 6:46
Lord You set a great example for us. We too need to get away and be quiet and pray.
Thank You Lord for always being there to hear us.
We are truly blessed because You are always there for us.
Thank You!
Thank You Lord.

Immediately He (Jesus) made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while He dismissed the crowd. Mark 6:45
Lord the crowd of 5,000 men was feed and not only feed they were free to do whatever they wanted. You dismissed them. I wonder if they realized what a great event had taken place. And now You were telling Your disciples to hurry and leave. You knew they were exhausted for all that had taken place. You knew they had to rest.
Thank You Lord for knowing our every need.
Thank You Lord for being there when we need You. Oh how blessed we truly are.
Thank You Lord. Thank You …..

And taking the five loaves and the two fish He (Jesus) looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples to set before the people; and He divided the two fish among them all. And they ate and were satisfied. And they took up 12 baskets full of broken pieces and of the fish. And those who ate the loaves were five thousand men. Mark 7:41 -44
Lord thank You for Mark’s account. What an amazing and exciting time this must have been. All these people that were there with You experienced a miracle.
Thank You Lord for miracles. Thank You for the gifts we see each day in our own lives. You are always there and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.
