And as Peter was below in the courtyard one of the maids of the high priest came; and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him, and said, “You also were with the Nazarene, Jesus.” But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you mean.” And he went out into the gateway. Mark 14:66 – 68

Lord, You told Peter that he would deny You but he sue didn’t believe such a thing could ever happen to Him. He had great love and respect for You.

We like Peter always think we would be different but will we be? When the ‘rubber hits the road’ will we continue to be on Your side. It is only as we prepare ourselves today that we will be.

Thank You Lord for being our rock. Thank You for calming the storms in our lives and bring us peace. We love You Lord and long to serve You.

Oh how we thank You. Oh how we praise You.

Thank You Lord. Thank You.

And some began to spit on Him, and to cover His face , and to strike Him, saying to Him, “Prophesy!” And the guards received Him with blows. Mark 14:65

Lord we continue to hear how You were abused physically. Thank You for all the suffering You did for us.

Thank You too Lord for all the ways those experiences are used in our lives to bring us closer to You.

We love You Lord and thank You for the peace that You alone can give us.

Thank You. Thank You Lord.

And the high priest tore his mantle and said, “Why do we still need witnesses? You have heard His blasphemy. What is your decision.” And they all condemned Him as deserving death. Mark 14:63, 64

Lord this was certainly no surprise. You knew they had been looking for an excuse to kill You. They didn’t just want You to be locked up they wanted You dead. Finally they were going to accomplish what they had been trying to do for a very long time.

Thank You Lord for giving Your all for us. How can we help but give back to You.

Thanks You for the gift of eternal life. Oh how we thank and praise You.

Thank You Lord.

Again the high priest asked Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” And Jesus said, “I am; and you will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” Mark 14:60 – 62

Lord, now You speak but Your words are certainly not what they were waiting to hear.

It is not always easy to tell the truth and You were telling everyone what was going to happen.

Thank You Lord that all of this was going on for us. You lived and You died and You rose again so we could have eternal life.

Oh how full our hearts are in gratitude and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, “Have You no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against You?” But He was silent and made no answer. Mark 14:60

Lord, You were silent and didn’t answer.

There are times when it doesn’t pay to answer. No matter what would be said would be beaten down. Sometimes it is much better to just be quiet.

Thank You Lord for the wisdom that You give us when we cry out to You.

Thank You for helping us. You are only a prayer away and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

And some stood up and bore false witness against Him saying, “We have heard Him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.’” Yet not even so did their testimony agree. Mark 14:57 – 59

Lord, You were there listening to all they were accusing You of. You heard what they were saying and knew the truth. They had been trying to do You in and now they had the golden opportunity.

Thank You Lord that You are there when there are those that want to do us in. You understand how it feels because You have been there.

Thank You for Your help when we go through difficult times in our lives. You are always there Lord and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

For many bore false witness against Him and their witness did not agree. Mark 14:56

Lord ….what a scene this was. They were lying about You and the lies didn’t match. That is so often the case even today when there are those that lie.

Thank You Lord for helping us through those difficult times when we are also falsely accused.

Thank You for reminding us that we are Your children and You came to give us life and a life more abundant.

Thank You for asking us to come to You and find rest and peace.

You are always with us Lord and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Now the chief priests and the whole council sought testimony against Jesus to put Him to death; but they found none. Mark 14:55

Lord You certainly know how we feel when we are falsely accused because that is exactly what happened to You.

Thank You for being there when we cry out to You for help and understanding.

Often Lord You provide just the right person to listen to us and to pray with us.

Thank You for those that are there for us that You use to bring us peace and joy.

Thank You.

Thank You Lord.

And Peter had followed Him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest; and he was sitting with the guards and warming himself at the fire. Mark 14:54

Lord …Peter was there watching. We know he loved You. We also know, as the story goes on, that he will deny that he ever knew You.

Thank You for showing us how human these disciples were. They all ran away when they came to arrest You and now we find Peter watching what they are going to accuse You of.

Thank You for watching over each one of us Lord You are our rock. You are our protector and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

And they led Jesus to the high priest; and all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes were assembled. Mark 14:53

Lord we have seen this picture portrayed for us every Easter. It is not a pretty sight and brings sadness to our hearts.

Thank You Lord for coming to die for us that we might live.

Oh how we thank You. Oh how we praise You.

It is because of You that we have eternal life.

Thank You Lord. Thank You.
