And those who passed by derided Him, wagging their heads and saying, “Aha! You who would destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself, and come down from the cross!” So also the chief priests mocked Him to one another with the scribes saying, “He saved others; He cannot save Himself.” Mark 15:29 – 32
Lord it is often amazing how cruel people can be. Those gather and these chief priests were certainly showing their true colors.
Thank You Lord that You are still in control.
Thank You for Your protection.
Thank You for Your Unconditional love.
We know we are loved Lord and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And with Him (Jesus) they crucified two robbers, one on His right and one on His left. Mark 15:27
Lord when we see three crosses today we remember this scripture.
There You hung between two known criminals. You were innocent. They were guilty.
Thank You again for loving us so much.
We love You Lord and we thank You.
Thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And it was the third hour when they crucified Him. And the inscription of the charge against Him read. “The King of the Jews.” Mark 15:25, 26
Lord once again we see the price You paid for our salvation and we thank You.
Thank You that it is a gift You offer to all of us.
Thank You for loving us enough to die for us.
Thank You Lord.

And they brought Him (Jesus) to the place called Golgotha (which means the place of a skull). And they offered Him wine mingled with myrrh; but He did not take it. And they crucified Him, and divided His garments among them, casting lots for them, to decide what each should take. Mark 15:22 – 24
Lord this was the price You came to pay for us.
Oh how we thank You.
Oh how we praise You.
Thank You Lord.

And they compelled a passerby, Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to carry His cross. Mark 15:21
Interesting Lord how Simon – a passerby – carried Your cross. You didn’t have to carry it Simon carried it for You.
Thank You Lord for those You send along to help us.
We all need people in our lives and we thank You for those that care.
Thank You Lord.

And they began to salute Him, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck His head with a reed and spat upon Him, and when they had mocked Him, they stripped Him of the purple cloak and put His own clothes on Him. And they led Him out to crucify Him. Mark 15:18 -20
Lord once again we read about the tremendous price You paid for us and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And the solders led Him (Jesus) away inside the palace (that is, the praetorium); and they called together the whole battalion. And they clothed Him in a purple cloak and plaiting a crown of thorns they put it on Him. Mark 15:16, 17
Lord as we read these verses we once again see the price You paid for us.
Thank You for Your unconditional love.
Thanks You Lord for being with us every moment of every day.
Our hearts are full of love for You Lord and we thank You
Thank You Lord.

Lord I skipped verses 13 and 14 so I want to go back and think on them.
When Pilot asked the crowd what he should do with You here was their answer.
And they cried out again, “Crucify him.” So Pilate said to them, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they shouted all the more, “Crucify Him.’” Mark 15:13, 14
Lord these are certainly some verses that tell us a lot about what happened before You died on the cross.
First it was the crowd that had been influenced by the chief priests to shout out to ‘crucify You.’ Who were these people in this crowd anyway. Certainly they were not the many You had healed. Certainly they were not those that loved You and had had their lives changed. Were they those like Peter who heard the cock crow three times before he realized he had done exactly as You said he would do to keep from being ‘one of Yours.’ Were these people afraid too of what could happened if they didn’t follow what the chief priests were telling them to do? I don’t have all those answers Lord but I do see that Pilot with all his power did the same thing. He too listened to the crowd and followed what they wanted.
Lord it is only by Your strength and wisdom that we are able to go against the grain as we would say. It is only as we keep our eyes upon You and keep close to You that we can remain faithful.
Thank You for giving us that strength and that power Lord. Oh how we praise You. Oh how we thank You. And Lord – Yes – I stand amazed when I see the way You help us and work in our lives. Thank You!!!!
Thank You Lord.

So Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released for them Barabbas; and having scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified. Mark 15:15
Lord this is one of those positions you hope to never be in… Pilate would have let You go but the whole crowd had turned against You. He had no choice. He had to do what he did.
Lord these thing are often hard for us to accept. But as we know there was a purpose and a plan. Thank You for the purpose and plan in each of our lives. Thank You that we do not have to understand everything because we know that You ‘cause all things to work together for our good.’ Thank You for the faith to believe and the desire to become more and more like You.
Thank You Lord.

And Pilate again said to them, “Then what shall I do with the man whom you call the King of the Jews?” Mark 14:12
Lord Pilate was in a terrible position. He could find no fault in You but the crowd wanted You killed. Interesting how quickly the crowd turned against You. The chief priests sure had a lot of persuasive power.
Lord verse by verse we see what You went through. Oh how we thank You for enduring the cross for us.
Thank You.
Thank You Lord.
