And very early on the first day of the week, they went to the tomb when the sun had risen. Mark 16:2
Lord here were two women that loved You.
They brought their spices to anoint You.
Lord – thank You for their example of love.
Thank You Lord.

Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where He (Jesus) was laid. And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, brought spices, so that they might go and anoint Him. Mark 15:47 and 16:1
Lord You have given many women the gift of nurturing. It is a wonderful gift because it goes beyond its own needs and thinks of others.
These two women loved You and wanted to anoint You. They had watch to see where You were put to rest so they could come with their spices.
Thank You for those women and men too that watch from afar and meet the needs of others. No they are never asked they just do it out of gratitude for all You have given them. Thank You for the many lives they touch and make a difference. They truly are Your hands and Your feet doing Your will. Thank You for each one.
Thank You Lord.

And he bought a linen shroud, and taking Him down, wrapped Him in the linen shroud, and laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. Mark 15:44 – 46
Lord You died on the cross to pay the price for our sins. Mark tells us the story of how Your body was taken from the cross by a man that loved You…. Joseph. I can feel the passion and the extent Joseph went to in being sure everything was perfect in preparing You to go into the tomb.
Thank You Lord for those that are the Joseph’s in our lives and care about us. And too Lord we thank You for allowing us to be ‘Joseph’ to those that need a special touch. Either way Lord we are blessed and have much to be thankful for.
Thank You Lord.

And Pilate wondered if He (Jesus) were already dead: and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether He was already dead. And when he learned from the centurion that He was dead, he granted the body to Joseph. Mark 15:44, 45.
Lord we now learn what happened after Your death.
Pilate let Joseph have Your body once he knew You had died.
Thank You Lord for Joseph and the provisions he made for You.
And thank You Lord for those that help us through our lives when we need someone by our side. There are no words that can thank them enough because they are truly our angels. You call them to help and they answer that call and we thank You as we thank them.
Thank You Lord.

And when evening had come, since it was the day of Preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath. Joseph of Arimathea, a respected member of the council, who was also himself looking for the kingdom of God, took courage and went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus. Mark 15:42, 43
Lord – Joseph ‘took courage.’ It took courage for him to go to Pilot.
Thank You for the gift of courage Lord. Some have it much more than others.
The good news is Lord that You are there to help us all.
Oh how we thank You for Your power, strength and wisdom.
It is always there and ours if we ask for it. Thank You!!!
Thank You Lord.

There were also women looking on from afar, among whom were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the younger and of Josses, and Salome, who, when He was in Galilee, followed Him, and ministered to Him; and also many other women. Mark 15:40-42
Lord these women that were following from afar knew who You were but didn’t dare come closer. They loved You and wanted to see what was happening to You.
Thank You Lord for these women that loved You and ministered to You. We do need others in our lives Lord. You have made us that way and we thank You.
Thank You Lord for those You send into our lives today that love us and minister to us. We are blessed by each person and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And Jesus uttered a loud cry and breathed His last. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood facing Him, saw that He thus breathed His last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!” Mark 15:37 -39
Lord there is so much we don’t understand in life but those that have accepted You as Lord and Savior know exactly how this centurion knew You were the Son of God.
There are so many scriptures that tell us You are our Lord and Savior.
We are all so individual that You work in each life in a different way to reveal who You are and give us the faith to believe.
Oh how blessed we are Lord and oh so thankful we are Your children.
Thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And one ran and filled a sponge full of vinegar, put it on a reed and gave it to Him to drink saying, “Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to take Him down.” Mark 16:36
Lord, it is amazing just how cruel people can be even when You were dying.
And this is the reason You came to earth. You came to pay the price for our sin. You came to set us free. You came to change us from the inside out. You give us a love for even the unlovely.
We are oh so blessed and we thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sab ach-tha-ne?” which means “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” And some of the bystanders hearing it said, “Behold , he is calling Elijah.” Mark 15:34, 35
Lord, first of all I have to thank You for dying for me.
Thank You give us Your gift of eternal life.
Thank You for Mark’s account of your death and resurrection.
As we think upon it Lord may we always have hearts full of gratitude and praise.
Thank You.
Thank You Lord.

And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. Mark 15:33
Lord what comes to my mind is the whole earth was mourning. You did die. All was dark. It was 3 hours of time for grieving. Of course those that didn’t believe in You were happy. Now they could have their popularity back. The people would follow them instead of You.
Thank You Lord that You are our prince of peace. You love us unconditionally and with compassion.
We are oh so blessed and we thank and praise You.
Thank You Lord. Thank You.
