Wisdom cries aloud in the street; in the markets she raises her voice; on the top of the wall she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: “How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge. Proverbs 1:20 – 22

Lord there are so many voices crying out to us in all the places mention in this first Chapter of Proverbs. Voices that would entice us into believing they have a better way.

Thank You Lord for keeping us faithful to our calling.

Thank You for prayers that are answered because we spend time with You.

What a gift it is to us to be able to come to You at any time and we thank You.

Thank You Lord. Thank You.

My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent. Proverbs 1:10

Lord there are so many things in this world that can entice the young. Friends play such an important part in their lives. It is very hard as parents to channel our children because of the peer pressure they have from all around them.

But Lord it is not only the young that face these situations. We are faced with challenges at every age.

Thanks You for giving us the ability to know You better and better. You are there loving us with an unconditional love and we thank You. It is Your strength, knowledge and power that defeat any enticements we could ever have that does not honor You. You have given us the victory! Oh how we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

Hear, my son, your father’s instructions, and reject not your mother’s teaching; for they are a fair garland for your head, and pendants for your neck. Proverbs 1:8, 9

Again Lord I want to thank You for the wisdom You gave Solomon.

As a teenager it can be very hard to hear what our parents are telling us. They are trying to teach us and yet it is so hard for us to listen

Thank You Lord for Your patience with us because in today’s fast paced life it takes a special commitment to You to walk and talk and listen to You.

You are always there Lord and I thank You.

Thank You Lord. Thank You.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7

Lord thank You for the wisdom You gave Solomon. And then thank You too for allowing us to hear what he has to teach us. We all can always learn more and we sit at Your feet to learn.

Thank You for asking us to come to You. Oh how we need You Lord and thank You for always being with us.

Thank You.

Thank You Lord!

The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel: That men may know wisdom and instructions, understanding words of insight, receive instruction in wise dealing, righteousness, justice, and equality; that prudence may be given to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth——-the wise man also may hear and increase in learning and the man of understanding acquire skill, to understand a proverb and a figure, the words of the wise and their riddles. Proverbs 1:1 – 6

Lord it shall be very interesting to see what You have to teach us through the wisdom You gave Solomon.

Solomon was the wisest man that ever lived. What a gift that would been to be so full of knowledge and understanding.

And we know Lord that it all came from You and we thank You.

Thank You Lord for our wisdom and knowledge and the ability to continue learning.

It is our gift from You and we thank You.

Thank You Lord

And they went out and fled from the tomb; for trembling and astonishment had come upon them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid. Mark 16:8

Lord this is the end of the book of Mark. We hear that the women are trembling – astonished and afraid. They knew You were not in the tomb and the man sitting where You were lying told them You had gone to Galilee and they should go there to see You. This is where Mark stops his story. We do know from the other books of the Bible that they did see You.

Thank You Lord for all we are privileged to know because of the book of Mark.

Thank You for loving us and dying for us.

Thank You that some day we will spend all eternity with You.

Oh what a wonderful thought to dwell on. Thank You.

Thank You Lord.

But go, tell His disciples and Peter that He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see Him, as He told you.” Mark 16:7

Lord You sent an angel to be in the tomb where You had been laying. That angel told Mary Magdalene and Mary to go ….tell the others what had happened to You. You had risen. You were no longer in the tomb.

All this was happening to these two women Lord because they wanted to anoint You with their spices. They loved You and believed in You. They were still amazed that You had risen. You had told them You were going to rise again and now they were experiencing what You had told them.

Thank You Lord for faith to believe. Thank You for love that perseveres and goes the extra mile. But most of all Lord thank You for Your unconditional love for us. We are blessed Lord and we thank You. .

Thank You Lord.

And he said to them, “Do not be amazed; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen, He is not here; see the place where they laid Him. Mark 16:6

Wow – how could one help but be amazed. A man sitting where You should have been Lord. Your body was not there.

I wonder if Your words flooded back into the minds of these two women. Did they remember what You had told them that You would rise again.

Lord, You have told us that You will come again. We remember that Lord and rejoice. We know You will come back and we wait with eager anticipation.

What an exciting day that will be and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe; and they were amazed. Mark 16:5

Lord, these two woman never expected to see what they saw. I am sure they were amazed. Who would not have been. After all they were there to anoint Your body with spices.

Lord so often we too are amazed at how different things are than what we thought they would be.

Our greatest gift in all we experience in life is knowing that You are there. You never leave us. Oh how grateful we are Lord and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.

And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the door of the tomb?’ And looking up, they saw that the stone was rolled back; for it was very large. Mark 16:3, 4

Lord, what a shock it must have been to the two Mary’s as they approached Your gravesite and the stone was rolled away. They had wondered while on the way how they could get into the grave with such a large stone covering the opening. And now they find the stone rolled back.

Lord once again I have to thank You for these two women that loved You so much.

Thank You that they didn’t give up and think the stone was too big so why even try.

Thank You for giving us the desire when the going gets rough not to give up.. We know You are there loving us through what comes our way and we thank You.

Thank You Lord.
